Moving on

Rosa paused at the landing. Memories floated around her.

Alan was carrying her up the same stairs, after wedding ceremony. He had suddenly turned around and thrown her down the stairs.

She had been stuck here ever since. She had silently seen everything, never revealing herself to him. She took it as a punishment, for loving a cheater more than her parents.

She saw him bring his mistress here.

She saw her leave him when funds dwindled.

She saw him barely survive, heartbroken, in the ruins of a dream house.

And today, he had given up, ending his life.

The wind rustled, her dress fluttered and slowly her silhouette started dissolving. Her punishment was over. It was now his turn.....to linger on.
