hi everyone! this is a bit of a new one, but this update is actually for a commission, for the lovely len (siIverveils). i was commissioned via ko-fi ☕️ to create the interior graphics for her barry allen fic, capital loss, which was really exciting! i've made interior graphics for other writers before but it's not something i typically offer since it does take a lot of time. however, over the past few months i've had nothing but time, so here we are. before we get started, i just want to say thank-you again to len, for being so supportive of me, my work, and... sears tower in chicago, illinois! RAHHH 🦅🦅🦅

we'll start with the covers for this fic. these weren't technically included in the commission, as i had already made them as a thank-you-gift-theme-type-thing for len (as she is a serial tipper... AGAIN, THANK YOU!!). but i'm choosing to include these anyway because they do kind of set the tone for the other graphics in this update. i was told that barry was "red" and the oc, melina, was "blue" (not in those exact words iirc, but still.) so one half of cover i. (left) is red while the other is blue.

i don't have many comments about cover ii. (right). i probably did when i first made it, but as you guys can probably understand i've made so many graphics recently that if i don't write my thought process down, after x amount of time the calla-cache gets cleared and it's lost to the void forever.

next up is a few of my favourite gifs that i made for the "character cast" part of this fic. i made len a handful of gifs for both bruna marquezine (melina) and callum turner (barry) but see below the ones i liked the best:

i also made two moodboards each for the two main characters. for melina, i really leaned into the intergalactic, cosmic-girl theme as well as the "briefing" of sorts i received for the colour blue. i didn't want her moodboards to be too *busy*, which is a trap i often fall into when making moodboards with stars and other space things. i just get too excited and it becomes a mess.

i also made moodboards for barry, which didn't take much time at all since i have been hoarding flash-family resources for like... five years now. i used a mixture of my barry ones and my wally ones to make these moodboards, but i was less strict with the colour scheme and allowed barry's boards to be predominantly blue as well.

in my commission section on ko-fi, customers can choose to either have 4x moodboards, 1x each for up to 4 supporting characters, or 5x gifs, 1x each for up to 5 supporting characters. len left it up to me to decide which option would suit better. for superhero fics i find it's just easier to make moodboards; they get across the core of the characters better than mere faceclaims can, plus it's easier to make everything cohesive. since len is a dear friend of mine, i made 5x moodboards instead of just the 4, for (in order, left to right then down and left) hal jordan, bruce wayne, diana prince, clark kent, and sibyl palaiologou (who is an oc by goldenveils!).

for hal specifically, i tried to incorporate the colour green (lol... i wonder why!) which doesn't appear much in the other graphics for this fic. everyone else was fair game, because the trinity (bruce, clark, and diana) are all red-and-blue anyway so it didn't matter. i did have a little trouble with making sibyl's as i wasn't as familiar with her character, but i'm really happy with how her moodboard ultimately turned out!

the option for a manip / ship gif is an add-on to the total commission price, as they're very time consuming (for me at least) and in general, not typically my thing. (i think it's obvious i prefer making moodboards and covers 😅) but it really is the highest honour to me when someone does actually want a manip gif from me—cough cough, len. for the capital loss ones, there ended up being like five different colourings, but see my favourites below:

the interior graphics package also includes playlist covers, spotify scan codes, and other miscellaneous graphics such as logos and dividers. for the misc. graphics, i didn't want them to be just red-and-blue, so i went with rainbow instead! the divider and spotify scan code use the same rainbow-gradient i made. there's also a capital loss logo.

i honestly felt really nervous making these but i'm ultimately very pleased with how everything turned out. once again len, (haha #Bars) thank you so much for the privilege of making graphics for your fic! and thank you so, so much for your ongoing support of myself and my work. i appreciate it more than you know!!
