There you were, hiding inside the fancy bathroom from a consequence that had caught up to you at the wrong time. Definitely the wrong time. You start pacing around the space, your heart pounding at a increasingly rapid pace. A glance of yourself in the mirror made you come to a complete halt. You walk closer to the reflection of yourself.

"Maybe he won't even recognize you [Y/N]." you tell yourself, trying to ease the circumstance. "M-Maybe he forgot about you!" you exclaim, raising your voice. You point at your mirror image sternly. "This is where lying gets you!"

 The sudden knock from behind made your muscles tense. You spin around and eye the diamond door knob that was currently jiggling.

"[Y/N], I know you're in there!" called out the voice of your co-star. "Why did you run off like that?" he confronted, his hand still shaking the door opener. "It's kind of hard to show off my wife if she's not even with me!"

 You knew that you owed Chris a favor, and you couldn't care less about acting as his pretend wife, but that was before you saw him at the same gathering. The man who was the motive of why you gave up on love in the first place.
