Open the Window

I'm trapped in this small, dark room,

The dark was everywhere;

Under the bed, up in the ceiling, in corner of the room, inside tattered

wallpapers, and in the fringes of my hair,

It was too dark to see, even the eyelashes cast a shade,

looming over the concave of my cheeks,

My only light was the moonlit window, hanging in the expanse of this little

room,

Silver rays danced along, tiptoeing around the happy light,

I wish to open the window, to invite the light,

But mother said no, and locked it tight,

So, I got in my blankets,

There was still light, but it was still dark,

I'm trapped in this small, dark room,

The dark was everywhere;

I wish to open the window,

To let the world shine,

But there were too many voices,

So, I waved goodbye
