i mistook you for summer
i mistook you for

the warm stroke of your instrumental fingers weaving over my limbs was as gentle and sweet as the june wind playing blades of grass like a violin, dandelions braided in my hair as if they were syllables in a piece of poetry, i adore the sonnets you bloom in my bones
nectarine blossoms perfuming the air, fireflies flickering to golden starlight around us, we are in the midst of our own sky, and your smile is more fiery beautiful than the glory of a setting sun, drowning the field around us in too much glory
honeydew angles plays across the diamonds shimmering in your skin, freckles on your cheeks reminding me of midnight rain, strawberry kisses dazzling my lips saccharine

envelope me
in your
paradise
