the fruit we so adored to sink our greedy teeth into is rotting, dewdrops of overripe nectar trickling down the sides of our wide raspberry mouths, worms and maggots carving holes into the smooth skin of nectarines
don't you hear how the sky cries? our dreams were shattered, so the heaven we built will too crumble, the structure of bliss and immortality tumbling down in a shower of comets and stars who sing like wind chimes
the grapevines are withered and useless, hanging helplessly over the edge of time, we were too late on picking those green grapes, now our wine will never have the same bittersweet tang
how the ocean roars a ballad of salt and frothy foam, choking my throat, icy water slicing my skin like a thousand knives, i could swear i heard the lies you whispered in my bloody ears like lullabies
