It Never Fades
Chapter 1
"Mom, if Rick has got you to call me about that apartment again, he has offered to me you can tell him I'm still not taking it," Olivia told her mother annoyingly on her cell phone, as she walked through the airport nearing arrivals pushing her suitcases along on a trolley.
"Ok then, Olivia, if you're not taking your brother's offer, then at least tell me where you're planning to live while you're in Washington?" Her mother asks her with concern.
"Well, if you must know, I found a place when I was out here a couple of weeks ago," Olivia replied to her mother, explaining her living situation.
But she knew that her mother would instantly overreact about it. "Darling, are you sure you won't take your brother's apartment?" Her mother asked, more worried than before.
"Mom, don't worry, I'll be fine, really," Olivia replied knowingly, as she now comes out of arrivals looking for a familiar face but couldn't seem to find him just yet. "I have to go now, mom, but I love you and give Rick and Alexis my love, bye." Olivia bids goodbye to her mother ending the call, closing and pocketing her cell phone.
Not shortly after, she felt a tap on her shoulder, turning to see familiar green eyes and brown hair. "Tim!" she shouted excitedly, dropping her backpack onto the floor, pulling him into a hug.
"Liv! Oh my God, it's so good to see you!" He lifts Olivia off the ground as much as he could muster before putting her back down firmly.
"So, how was your mom when you told her you were coming and live in Washington?" Tim casually asked Olivia as he pushed the trolley along for her as they headed towards the exit.
"Well, my mom is my mom, Tim, so let's say she wasn't so keen on the idea of me living here and still thinks that I should have taken my brother's place. But what they need to understand is that I can't live off their money all the time. I want my independence," she replied with some annoyance; her family is something she doesn't like to talk about often.
"Yeah, I understand where you're coming from Liv, I mean, my mom wasn't so keen on me moving to Washington at first. But now that time has passed, she's gotten used to it," Tim explains to Olivia about his mother, trying to get her to see that it will take time for her own family to adjust to the change.

After having driven for at least half an hour, they had arrived at Olivia's apartment building, eventually gotten her suitcases up into her apartment that was on the third floor. "This place has turned out great," Tim compliments its appearance from the last time he'd seen it, looking around at its simple yet modern interior. She had been over two weeks before sorting out the apartment to her liking. The furnishings were cosy yet stylish, and some paintings hung on the walls and family photos about the place.
"Thank, Director Vance, for that. Seeing as I'm his new PA, he wanted me to have a decent place to live along with my salary." Olivia takes this in as a good thing, glad that he still approved of it, closing her apartment's door behind them.
She made her way across to the kitchen of the open plan apartment to the fridge that she'd gotten filled by Tim with the essentials the day before. "How about we get some take out?" Olivia suggests.
But before Tim could even reply to her, his cell phone rings. "McGee, yes, tell him I'm on my way."
Afterwards, her cell rings. "Hello, yes, Director, I'm on my way," both close their phones.
"That was work," they spoke at the same time, looking up at each other afterwards, feeling somewhat awkward about it but just let the moment blow over.

Lean On Me
Christmas was supposed to be the most joyous time of the year for some. Sometimes, that's not always the case, mainly when a good friend receives the news of a family member passing away.
Olivia was at a Winter Wonderland Ball charity event in New York is held by the rich and famous. The cause was to raise money for one of the city's children's hospitals, and she was glad she'd gotten invited by her family. It was exciting that she met Micheal Bublé of all things and who was currently performing at this very moment. That was until the faint vibrations of her cell phone caught her attention.
She reached for her bag urgently, thinking it's probably her father calling with an emergency at work. Only taking it out to find the screen is lit up with a text from Tim.
Olivia, my dad, has just passed away, and I know you are in New York with your family right now, but I need you here.
Something had to be seriously wrong right now. After all, Tim promised to keep her updated on his father's condition and how things went with the internet case last week. She found out during that time a week ago. His father declined any more treatment to help with his cancer. The outcome didn't look great.
Olivia replied in that instant.
I'm coming to Tim. I'm on my way. Just hang in there. I'll be there soon as I can.
She shot up out of her chair just as her mother catches her arm, seeing the pain and concern in her daughter's eyes after putting her phone away, "Olivia, sweetheart, what's going on?"
"Tim's dad has just passed away," she announced sadly to her mother, voice breaking and tears in her eyes.
Martha gasped in shock, letting her daughter's arm go resting it on her chest, "Oh, the poor dear, he must be in shreds," she shook her head, having been told already by Olivia about her best friends father many months ago, "Cancer is such a terrible thing," she ushers her to leave with a wave of her hand, "Now, go and give Timothy my regards."

Season 12 Final
"Dad!" Olivia screamed out in fear after hearing the gunshots, running. Somehow it's all gone wrong. She could listen to Tony calling after her, feet pounding through the dusty streets. Eventually, she made it, barging through the people surrounding him. The young boy who both herself and her father, though they could trust. Was standing there, holding a smoking gun.
Olivia looked to the ground. Her father had two shots through him, one to his leg and the other in his chest was bleeding out. "Dad, dad! Can you hear me?!" She drops on her knees next to him, ripping a long strip from the bottom of his blue shirt. Wrapped it around his leg tightly and she held a hand to his chest, firmly putting pressure on the wound. She looked up to where the boy last was, but he's gone.
It's now that Tony has finally caught up to Olivia, seeing his friend beside Gibbs. It was such a heartbreaking thing to witness, but he wouldn't let Gibbs die not on his watch. Not only that, it was for Olivia's sake that he needed to keep Gibbs alive.
