WINNER 1: bookishbethani

"How did you get in here, Vlad? It's a closed event," Jeremy asks me when I meet him over by the bar like I said I would. I shrug, ordering my usual whiskey, not wanting to expose myself just yet. It has been so long since allowing myself the pleasure of human company. "I still can't believe that your namesake is Dracula, of all fictional people."

"Yes, mother was crazy like that," I tell him, trying not to roll my eyes. It wasn't Jeremy's fault that everyone I met said that same thing at some point. And I could understand their wonder somewhat, but it was two millennia ago that I was born after all. "And don't worry about how I got in here, it'll only get you into trouble."

As I finish my drink and put the glass back down, there's a commotion by the door but I only turn when the music is cut off. There's almost a whole squad of policemen crowding the entrance and more are pouring in around them. It's only when I glimpse a semi-familiar face that I realise what's happening. Humans – must they always make a big deal out of everything?

"About that trouble, if you want to avoid it, you should act like you don't know me," I inform Jeremy as the bouncer from earlier points me out to the policeman he's speaking to. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Jeremy glance at me in confusion and then it's too late – they have me surrounded.

"Sir, if you could come with us," the policeman commands. "Quietly and calmly, as you do." He and his colleagues fan out in a semi-circle, managing to push back the murmuring crowd of party-goers. I sigh and step away from the bar and Jeremy, smirking at how every officer reaches for their batons. "Slowly now."

"I really don't think I'm worth all this effort, Officers," I taunt. It's only then do I let go, releasing my true self; blood red eyes, gaunt cheeks, ghastly talons meant for shredding and two horns above each of my temples that almost glisten in their blackness. "Then again, I have been known to be wrong a time or two."

WINNER 2: VermilionFox

Jack groaned when his arms were forced behind him. "Damn it, I swear this is all a misunderstanding!" The bouncer merely shoved him harder and he grimaced at the click that resounded. Ah, what he wouldn't give to be young and supple again. Well, younger anyway.

Amidst the searing pain in his arms, the deafening bass from the party alongside police sirens, and the nauseating flashes of light around him, he caught sight of a face he sorely regretted ever having seen.

At the glare he sent her way, the girl on the receiving end merely gave him an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Jack. I promise I'll get you out of this! Somehow," she trailed off, shifting uncomfortably when a nearby policeman walked right through her.

Jack could only sigh. Served him right for using his powers, really. What had he expected besides absolute chaos? He should have stuck to his New Year's resolution: let the dead stay dead. But of course, when a spirit came whining to him about unresolved business, he just couldn't refuse.

Mostly because they refused to shut up about it and leave him alone.

And now here he was, reaping the consequences of what he'd sown, all to get to a corpse he had reanimated - at the request of a spirit, he might add - in order to get information from him, only for the newly-risen to call the police on him and have him arrested for attempted murder - in the middle of a party that Jack shouldn't have been at anyway.

Where was the justice in that?

Sure, he would have sent the zombie straight back after he got what he needed and it could probably be called murder if you were to get all technical about it, but he was trying to find an actual murderer here for goodness' sakes!

It would have all gone perfectly fine if he hadn't dragged in the bouncer's grandma and her unreliable information. All he had to do was get inside, get their undead informant out and speed the heck back to the dungeon of a flat he called home.

But did everything work out as planned? Of course not.

WINNER 3: DsRandomWriting

"It is a simple misunderstanding," Cam said as he placed his hands behind his head.

Three cops stood around him. Two stood on each side of him, their guns, undoubtedly containing silver bullets, pointed at him.

The third one came behind him and locked his hand in silver laced cuffs. He groaned, but it didn't hurt much as full moon was drawing in.

He cursed the moment he decided to break into Nathan's house.

"Yeah? The two witnesses said you two never got along. You even threatened to murder him a few days ago," the cop on his right said.

He did in the heat of fury. Werewolves were bad with their anger, but that didn't mean they would act on it.

"He stole from me!" he roared.

His Amulet was stolen this morning. Nathan stole it thinking that it was a rare trinket. He was wrong.

It was a wolf suppressing Amulet created to keep their wolf at bay during full moon. The owners blood in it helped in tracking it down. It lead him here.

It was a post war invention to maintain their peace with humans. But centuries old damages by werewolves was hard to mend. Humans were still skeptical.

He didn't find it. Full moon was in one day and Cam was already feeling his wolf on the rise. He had to leave or he'll hurt them.

"You better let me go. Now!" He gritted out.

The cop behind him punched his face. "Quiet, you pest. All evidences point to you. You knocked out those guards with your powers. Broke in someone's room. Three party goers saw you sitting next to him with his guts all over the floor."

"And we don't see any jewels around here," said the cop on left.

His blood boiled,

'It is here!' he wanted to say.

He knew they wouldn't believe him or his innocence. He had to break the law and rely on his wolf. As a doctor he hated harming anyone, but it was better than dying.

These three would end up in hospital, but it would give him enough time to erase memories of everyone here and find the culprit.

He smiled as his thickening limbs cracked the cuffs.
