Chapter Eight: The Past Reflection

*Hey guys, how are you guys enjoying this story? Good? So-so? For those of you curious about the villain of the story, here's her backstory. I will sprinkle it throughout the story to keep you guys hyped. This is published on April 9, 2021. If you like this story, don't be afraid to vote and spam the comment section. The song used is called "Cannibal" by Citizen Soldier. Enjoy! Btw, my characters spoke in the Afrikaans language...so I put a translation to what they were saying in parentheses and bold.*

Flashback:

In the Sahara part of Catalonia, the young cheetah was addicted to the television showing a musical right in front of her green cat-like eyes. Within the one-room apartment, she smiled while watching the dancers and singers move in a smooth motion behind the screen.

The television flipped off automatically, causing the young cheetah to look up at her father.

"Komaan, dit is tyd om te werk(Come on, it's time to go to work)," her father spoke in an Afrikaan language.

The young daughter groaned a bit while getting up from the pink pillow she had been laying on to cushion her head from the hard floor.

They walked out of the one-bed apartment, carrying the towels through the desert part of town where police sirens were always the sound it made. The young cheetah let her green eyes wandered to see a bunch of cats, from a siamese cat to a lion, gathered around the small stage outside, selling weak animals from smallest to biggest in an alleyway. The young cheetah held her father's paws closer as they walked by the theater with a bunch of animals lined up and waiting for the show.

"Hulle het hierdie huis in 'n teater verander(They turned this house into a theater)," her father growled while spitting on the ground. He looked down at his daughter, who's trembling in his hold. "Ons sal dit eendag terugkry(We will get it back one day)."

The young cheetah looked back up at the theater, wondering what it's like to go inside. She didn't remember much about that place but she's only a baby when her family was kicked out of that...that home. Her father fought to get his home back but his finances weren't looking good on his records.

"Papa, dink jy kan ons binnegaan?(Dad, do you think we can enter?)" The young cheetah questioned while looking at the theater, walking past it with her father.

Her father frowned while walking through the city full of people in casual shirts and jeans. "Ons het nie die geld nie, Chirea. Boonop is teaters vir ryk mense wat niks beter te doen het as om hulself te vermaak nie(We do not have the money, Chirea. Besides, theaters are for rich people who have nothing better to do than entertain themselves)."

Chirea, the young cheetah, frowned at the statement as she continued to walk through the streets.

They finally found the street corners where an ambitious koala with brown eyes waited for the cheetahs.

The koala smiled. "Chester!"

"Arthur," the father cheetah spoke English to the koala while handing the koala towels.

"How have you been?"

"Good. How are you and your son?"

"Oh, we're doing good. Buster is in preschool right now."

Chester nodded his head with a grin. "Oh wow, good for him."

"Yeah, yeah." Arthur noticed Chirea. "Who's this?"

Chester smiled proudly while caressing his daughter's fur. "This is Chirea. My daughter."

"It's lovely to meet you, Chirea," Arthur responded while reaching his paw out for her to shake.

Chirea stared at the strange gesture while looking up at her father shyly.

"Dit is oukei, skat(It's okay, dear)," Chester ushered her gently in the language she knew best.

Chirea nodded her head while extending her paw to shake the koala's hand. It was a gentle grip as Arthur glanced up at Chester with a brow raised.

"You must excuse her shyness. She hasn't interacted with people much," Chester informed to reassure Arthur that his daughter wasn't just afraid of the koala.

"I see. Do you like to help with the car wash, Chirea?" Arthur asked the young cheetah with a bright smile on his face.

Chirea nodded her head slightly.

Arthur smiled delightfully. "Let's get started then. Say, Chester, did you ever send your daughter to school?"

Arthur began to undress his clothes as Chester covered Chirea's eyes while being unphased by the koala's change of clothes.

"She's homeschooled. Today she'll be learning how to defend herself," Chester responded with an eager grin.

"And you're teaching her that by helping me...wash cars?" Arthur put on the speedo while arching a brow up at his friend.

"She needs to know the flow of karate before she fights in any battle," Chester explained while Arthur scrubbed the cars with his body and Chester and Chirea were drying the car off.

While they were doing that, Chester decided to be playful with his daughter by splashing a little water on her. Chirea flinched and shook her fur off, giving her father a playful smile. She was able to sprinkle some water on her father, causing him to laugh playfully.

Through the laughter, the young cheetah still questioned...what does car washing have to do with self-defense? When her father showed her how to wipe the car dry with small circles in slow-motion and then faster and faster, she finally understood.

Present:

Chirea, now an adult cheetah with a scar on her right eye and earrings on her right ear, was overlooking the city from the tallest building in Catalonia.

She took out her phone to reread the text someone sent not too long ago.

"Meet me at the top of MorTegal Resort."

There she was, at the top of MorTegal Resort, waiting for her 'friend' to show up.

"You know, you should've picked someplace more discreet," she spoke up aloud while turning her head to see someone approaching behind her, sitting next to her.

"This more discreet. Besides I like to watch the city from here," Serpent responded while turning head to see the snake, rattler at the end of his tail. His blue eyes staring into Chirea's green ones. "The lights, the noises, and the air." The snake sniffed into the air. "Fresh tasty air."

Chirea huffed. "You say to meet up here, Serpent. What is it that you want?"

Serpent, the rattlesnake, showed her the photos of the mayor of Catalonia. "A contract. I was working in his office when I overheard him talking about taking a trip down to Ramboyount. I suggest you killed him when he's about to take a ship. Get on that ship with him before the ship departs."

"And what will I gain in return?" Chirea probed while Serpent snickered.

"Two hundred dollars cash," Serpent answered with a slither of his tongue.

Chirea shook her head. "I've been doing contracts with you for years. I know when you're pulling that crap, what's in it for me?"

"Not satisfy with two hundred dollars?" the snake slithered while arching his brow. "And the theater you want for years."

Chirea growled while the snake chuckled.

"You know, you're so adamant about the theater...why the theater?" Serpent questioned.

"Family values," Chirea responded vaguely.

Serpent rolled his eyes. "What a vague response. Come on, you know you want to tell me."

Chirea huffed while staring at the Moon Theater in the middle of the city. "My father never took me inside this theater. It was our home before...well, authorities kicked us out...all of us out. My father fought for that theater in hopes of bringing back our homes...however...someone else wanted the theater for his child and his child...ended up in charge of a theater. Hmph, he lost the theater for a while due to bankruptcy. And he gained it back from some...random singing competition."

Serpent chuckled a bit. "You want to kill the owner of the Moon Theater?"

"No...no. I want him alive," Chirea responded while getting up from her seat and stared down at the beautiful city of Catalonia. "I want him to see how much pain he put us through...his own father put us through."

Serpent giggled a bit. "Heh, so edgy and cynical. That's why I hire you. You can kill quickly."

Chirea looked at Serpent. "So...what kind of ways can I kill the mayor?"

Serpent edged a sly smile.

Milla and Eddie sat in the living room of Johnny's house together, letting the quiet air fill the room. Eddie couldn't help but think about what happened back at the nightclub. Why Milla was performing there and what do those wolf henchmen want from an innocent snow leopard? Or maybe he thought that she might have a dark past chasing her and now...the theater gang.

Eddie turned to Milla, finally gaining confidence. "What do those wolves want from you?"

Milla perked her koala ears up and turned to the sheep. "What?"

"Why were those wolves are after you?" Eddie probed further, more worried than upset.

Milla frowned a bit while sighing. "Well, I was homeless since I was twelve and I ran into the most prominent family in my younger years called The Rattlers. The Rattler family was rich compared to your grandmother's standpoint. There were two brothers in the line of inheritance: Kobra and Serpent. Kobra showed me compassion and sheltered me temporarily. When I got older, he gave me some money...a hundred thousand dollars to be exact...to go and get an apartment for myself. And I did and it's not a great apartment but it's better than the alleyways. For a while anyway. After I used up the rest of the dollars to buy furniture, I got a job but it didn't pay well. I tried making my own food and it turned out that I was a terrible cook and I rather have take-out or starve myself so that I could save some money to get food at least. However, rent was due and I couldn't pay rent...so I was kicked out of the house and I could no longer live in it."

Eddie frowned softly in sympathy while listening to Milla's story.

Milla continued with the story. "Kobra died and Serpent took over. I've had my suspicions that Serpent killed Kobra for the inheritance but I could be wrong. What happened was...he went to extreme lengths to find people to who Kobra showed compassion and had them hand over the money they were given. Unlike Kobra, Serpent had no compassion towards anybody...he demanded the money out of him and I couldn't even pay him. And guess what I owe him? A hundred thousand dollars...I have no idea where I'll get that kind of money."

Eddie pondered about it but hesitated at the idea. "I know where you might get that money but...I don't know if it's the greatest idea of all time."

Milla arched a brow and turned to Eddie. "From where?"

~.~

Buster's Dream:

Buster was in line again but this time, he's in the middle of it with Eddie and Milla standing side by side with him.

"You're going to love this," Milla replied to the men, more specifically Buster.

"I have no doubt about that," Buster responded to Milla's reply. "What's the play about?"

Eddie noticed they're approaching the front of the line. "Guys, we're almost there."

Buster was handed tickets by the custodian of the theater as he was the first to walk in. He glanced down at the tickets to read: "Balcony".

"Balcony number, where?" Buster asked mostly himself as he turned to his friend and his sister. "Hey guys, do you know the number--?"

When he turned around, Milla and Eddie disappeared without a trace. Buster had his eyes enlarged in horror as the light flickered on the stairs. He turned to the stairs and heard noises coming from it. Almost like screaming and yelling. With curiosity in his baby blue eyes, Buster immediately went up the stairs

When Buster reached the stairs, he opened the door to find the theater empty and the only person sitting on the balcony was Nana Noodleman, Eddie's grandmother. Buster approached her with a brow raised.

"Nana, what are you doing here?" Buster asked in curiosity.

Nana turned to see him with a smile. "I'm here for the show. Can't you tell?"

She spoke with such gentle and compassion in opposition to her usual snarky and rudeness that Buster looked at her in confusion while looking around the theater. "Where's Dad?"

Nana frowned while turning to Buster. "Didn't he died of a stroke?"

Buster gasped as the show began. Nana focused her attention on the show while clapping her hands. Buster glanced right at the stage while the curtains opened. It was Ms. Crawly playing the piano instead of Johnny.

"He died of a stroke.

He died of a stroke.

He died of stroke--Oops!"

Ms. Crawly sang while mistuning the piano, she giggled and played the notes that didn't seem right.

"He died of a stroke.

I swear to you.

He made me swear.

He died of a stroke."

Buster breathed heavily, eyes widening more in horror to see Ms. Crawly performing in all the wrong sinister notes.

"I can't tell you the truth.

Forbids me to say,

He didn't die of a stroke.

I can't say the truth."

Buster shook his head while running down the stairs to sneak through the theater to get backstage as the old lizard continue to sing.

"He can't take it anymore.

That's what he wrote to me.

Even though, he regretted those words,

He can't take it anymore."

"Ms. Crawly!" Buster shouted, reaching backstage and was ready to run to her until his feet were stuck on the board. He breathed heavily in panic while watching Ms. Crawly mistuning the piano and singing crooned.

"He's sorry, Buster.

He didn't mean to wrap the rope around his neck and kick the chair.

His mind was plagued by regrets and guilt.

He's sorry, Buster."

"Ms. Crawly, stop it!" Buster cried, tears in his eyes while struggling but he couldn't reach her. A massive headache while he covered his head with tears and a groan in pain.

The old lizard continued to sing in a grim melody.

"He died of a stroke.

He died of a stroke.

He died of a stroke.

I can't tell you the truth.

I can't tell you the truth.

I can't tell you the truth."

"STOP IT!" Buster screamed while breathing heavily, his small body shaking.

The lizard didn't hear his plea.

"He can't take it anymore.

He can't take it anymore.

He can't take it anymore.

He's sorry, Buster.

He's sorry, Buster.

He's sorry Buster."

"STOP IT!!!!" Buster managed to scream while opening his eyes and had his head raised up. However, he realized that he's no longer in a theater and Ms. Crawly was no longer in sight.

"Ms. Crawly! Eddie! Milla!! Where are you?!" Buster shouted the names of his family and friends closest to him. He breathed heavily while walking through an old creaky apartment that was almost familiar. Buster could've sworn he'd been here before. He heard screaming and yelling, which the words were sharp as a knife the more coherent he hears them.

"YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A MISTAKE!!" he heard a man's voice yelling while not understanding what's going on.

"WHY ARE YOU HURTING HIM?!" a woman's voice cried while Buster recognized that woman's voice.

"Mom?" Buster muttered to himself as he followed the voices.

"YOU SHOULD'VE GOTTEN RID OF HIM!!" the male voice barked while a sound of a crying baby echoed through the creaky apartment walls.

Buster noticed a silhouette of a woman koala on the wall. He didn't know why but he felt like a kid again. Not a happy kid though...a frightened kid who would hide. From what? That he didn't know.

"Mom?" Buster recognized as he reached out for the silhouette of his mother.

"Buster! Buster!" Buster heard a familiar voice that seemed out of place.

He couldn't reach his mother while he felt hooves on his shoulders.

"Buster!"

~.~

Reality:

Buster gasped like he's clinging for breath. His pupils were shrunken in horror as he noticed Eddie waking him up in a strange bedroom.

"Buster, are you okay? You were crying and screaming in your sleep," Eddie probed, looking at his friend worriedly.

Buster glanced down at himself to notice that he's naked and he's in some stranger's bedroom in the middle of the night. "Uh...Eddie...where am I?"

"You're at Johnny's house," Eddie responded calmly.

Buster looked down on his naked body again, arching a brow in confusion. "Um...did something happen that um--?"

"You literally took all your clothes off because it got 'hot'. And you just collapsed onto Johnny's bed," Eddie explained with a deadpan stare at the koala.

Buster sighed deeply. "Well...I didn't think that would happen."

"Yeah. It did."

Buster looked around the room. "Did I wake anyone up?"

"No...everyone's still asleep. You sobered up quicker than I expected," Eddie acknowledged while examining the koala.

Buster blinked his eyes as he sighed heavily and threw his back on the mattress of Johnny's bed. The bed was admittingly comfortable, more comfortable than his desk drawer, and extremely soft for his back that was so used to laying on a hard floor of his desk drawer.

"Did I do anything stupid? Besides taking my clothes off?" Buster questioned Eddie.

Eddie shrugged. "You might have complimented people while we pass by them. You even compliment Milla on her dress."

"Wait, she's here?" Buster gasped in worried for his sister. "Please don't tell me she saw me taking all my clothes off."

Eddie clenched his teeth tightly. "Yeah, she did. Including Johnny and Ash--"

"What?!"

"Shh," Eddie shushed him. "Hey, calm down, no one was hurt about it. Just the fact that you destroyed Johnny's virgin eyes but other than that, you're fine."

"That poor kid," Buster groaned to himself. "I need to take a walk--"

"Naked?" Eddie interrupted while Buster groaned again.

"I'm too lazy to change back to my clothes," Buster uttered while leaning his head onto the pillows. "You know, Johnny's bed is pretty comfy."

"Yeah, he might wash the sheets after you get off of it," Eddie responded with a small chuckle.

Buster moaned tiredly while resting his blue eyes. He mumbled some words while going right back to sleep.

Eddie didn't leave by his bedside while gazing at him in concern. Buster was crying and screaming out for him and Milla for some reason---including Ms. Crawly. This concerned the sheep more as he stared at his friend's sleeping figure, moaning and turning over the bed. With ears flicked, he curled up while moaning in a disturbance.

Right away, Eddie could instantly tell that Buster was going to have a nightmare. He didn't want to wake him up again but he didn't want to let his friend sleep through whatever nightmare was going through his mind. The sheep decided, without thinking, to get on the bed next to Buster and wrapped his arm around the koala. Buster subconsciously buried his head in Eddie's fabric red sweater and cuddled on his friend, which made Eddie smile a bit since his friend was now sleeping at peace.

Meanwhile, Milla saw this from the bedroom door, couldn't help but want to join them. She got on the bed on the other side of Buster while wrapping her around her younger brother.

"Mind if I join you guys?" Milla whispered to Eddie, who instantly blushed as soon as her arm brushed past his.

"Yeah--I mean no. No, I don't mind," Eddie stuttered while the pretty snow leopard fell fast asleep next to her brother while the sheep blinked a bit and smiled to himself.

This feels nice.

Eddie slowly fell asleep, hugging both Buster and Milla in his arms.

The morning sun came over Catalonia. Another morning, another day. Johnny was sleeping on his father's bed while holding Ash in his arms. Last night, Ash insisted that Johnny sleeps on his father's bed while she sleeps on the floor. However, Johnny wouldn't have any of that as he picked her up with his one arm and held her. Ash seemed tense at first, her quills stinging him until she fell asleep, her face landed on his chest.

Ash opened her icy blue eyes to first notice his furry chest against her nose. She immediately blushed as she realized that she's being held loosely by the gorilla that she's cursing herself for even letting into her life. Her broken life.

She didn't want to fall in love again. She didn't want to be this naive lover girl who got her heart broken eventually like Lance. Ash was tempted to run her hand against his chest and...she couldn't believe she did it. Her hand rubbed against his furry chest...which was soft but firm at the same time. Ash quickly drew her hand away before it got too awkward for her. She easily maneuvered out of Johnny's hold, slid off of the bed, and figured that she'll grab a shower before anyone could claim the hot water.

Ash turned to look at Johnny's sleeping figure, elbows bent and forearms extended towards her as if he just released her from his clutch. She wanted to go back into those arms and cuddled him for five more minutes.

No! No...don't. Don't even think about it.

Ash mentally slapped herself as she stepped into the bathroom quietly.

Meanwhile, Johnny woke up from the sound of a shower running. He moaned while stretching his limbs and sitting up on the bed. He saw the quills left behind on the sheets and his arm. He let out a chuckle as he picked the quills out of his arm.

Johnny could assume that Ash was the one in the shower since she offered to do it in the morning. He rubbed his face with a yawn until something hit him as a nail pounded onto the floor with a hammer. Ash doesn't have her clothes! Well, she has the dresses she got from the mall in a bag by the front door but he highly doubted Ash would even think about wearing a dress. It would be her last resort if any.

The gorilla immediately got up, put on his white tank-top, and quietly headed out of the door to his garage. He immediately brought out his skateboard and his backpack. He rushed out of his garage, riding his board down the ways towards Ash's house.

When he arrived at the cottage, he noticed Lance's car gone, earning him a sigh in relief as he quickly went through the window to Ash's room. He searched her drawers...which made him groan to himself.

"What are you doing here, idiot?" Johnny muttered to himself while stopping searching through her drawers. "This is an invasion of privacy!"

However, Johnny didn't warrant much thought further when he found her leggings, skirts, and shirts. Then...he ran into a drawer full of bras and underwear, causing his face to go red, and closed the drawer immediately.

"Okay, Johnny, you might be going overboard with this. Just get a set for her to wear today, don't clear the drawers."

With a mental instruction in mind, Johnny closed his eyes and opened the drawer while picking out a random white bra and blue underwear without even opening his eyes. He quickly closed the drawer while his hand drifted towards where her skirts, shirts, and leggings were. He picked one of each randomly as he stuffed the clothes into the backpack and zipped it up.

Suddenly, Johnny heard a car pull up.

It must be Lance.

He hopped out of the window in Ash's room and peered at the front porch from the corner of the cottage, seeing Lance entering the cottage with a sad sigh. He seemed like he had been waiting for Ash to come back but Johnny couldn't help but rolled his eyes at Lance's own sadness and boarded away from the cottage.

~.~

That was a delightful shower, Ash thought as she stepped out of the bathroom. With a towel wrapped around her body, she immediately noticed something was off. It took nanoseconds to realize what it was.

I forgot to have new clean clothes!

Ash groaned to herself irritably. She didn't want to have to wear those dresses she just bought. Ash stepped out of the bathroom and tiptoed towards Johnny's father's room as she saw a new change of clothes laying right on the edge of the bed. Johnny disappeared and there's a sticky note on them. She picked it up and scrutinized what was written.

"I just fetched these from the apartment...I hope they work."

Ash gasped while realizing that Johnny just went back to the apartment all by himself...Lance must have been an idiot to not notice a six-foot gorilla with great sets of abs entering the tiny cottage like it's nothing. Ash darted her glance to the side and noticed Johnny in the garage on the far side, punching the bag while catching her gaze with his innocent chestnut eyes.

Ash couldn't help but form a thankful smile and closed the door so that she could change without being spotted. Admittingly, Johnny didn't pick bad sets of clothing. A black shirt, black leggings, and black checkered skirt didn't seem like a bad choice. Ideally, she liked the color black as she changed into the clothes Johnny fetched from the apartment.

When she opened the door, she noticed Johnny staring at her with a soft smile. With an embarrassed blush, he continued on punching the bag while veering his gaze away from her. Ash cornered a playful smirk as she picked up the towel she abandoned and walked down the hall with it. When she's close enough to the gorilla, she tossed the towel right at his feet, gaining his attention to the ground and it made his cheeks reddened more.

Johnny and Ash exchanged glances at Ash gave him a flirty wink, which made Johnny chuckle a bit as she walked into the living room. The gorilla hung up the towel and continued the workout.

Meanwhile, Buster slowly opened his baby blues as he looked to see Eddie and Milla hugging him from both sides, causing his eyes to go comically wide. He didn't think he'll have a good dream when he goes back to sleep but his dream was much more peaceful the second time he slept than the first time. Now, he knew why. Buster sat up carefully and noticed his clothes folded neatly and cleaned. He saw a note which read:

"Thought I wash your clothes, Mr. Moon. --Johnny."

Oh, that's sweet of you, Johnny, Buster thought as he put the clothes he wore last night back on. When he did...he felt something churning in his stomach...almost like he's ready to throw up. He quickly ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet, coughing up the puke.

Maybe taking shots of whiskey wasn't such a good idea after all.

Buster vomited again, his little body shaking. He wiped the puke off of his lips with his hand, breathing heavily. He closed the toilet lid and flushed the puke down the drain. The koala felt a little light-headed since last night as he ambled through the house, adjusting his eyes to constant bright flashes. He walked into the living room to find Gunter snoring on the couch while Mike was sleeping next to Nancy. He lifted his head up to see Ash getting herself breakfast.

Buster cleared his throat. "Uh...morning, Ash."

Ash turned to the koala, a smirk slowly playing on her lips. "Morning, Moon."

Buster could immediately tell that Ash was smirking at him for something he did last night. "You seem a bit in...uh, high spirits."

"Like you were last night?" Ash probed teasingly as she managed to get herself cereal.

"What do you mean?" Buster questioned, not getting Ash's taunt.

"Well, you were in high spirits last night, taking your clothes off--"

"Yeah, yeah, I know I did that--"

"Also, Eddie is hitting on your sister," Ash joked, making up a playful lie.

"WHAT?!?" Buster shouted with eyes widened in shock. "Did he really hit on my sister?"

"No, I was just joking," Ash responded with a giggle, earning a deadpan stare from the koala.

Buster groaned a bit while rubbing his head. "That's a terrible joke, Ash."

"I know, but you were kissing Eddie--"

"WHAT?!?" Buster screeched. "I KISSED EDDIE?!?"

Ash nodded her head with a playful smile. "Yep. Totally. But it's one kiss before Eddie said no homo."

"Uh...what? I never heard Eddie speaking like that," Buster uttered at the ridiculous story.

"Well, you were drunk...you wouldn't hear him," Ash implemented with a playful grin.

"Good morning, guys," someone entered the living room with a yawn.

Buster turned to see Eddie stretching his limbs. "I'm so sorry, Eddie."

Eddie arched his brow in confusion. "For what?"

"For kissing you. I-uh-I was drunk and I didn't know better--"

"What? No, you didn't kiss me," Eddie denied while shaking his head.

Buster tilted his head. "But Ash said I did."

Ash tried to hold in her laughter, earning an eye-roll from Eddie.

"Ash was just giving you a hard time," Eddie responded while Ash walked out of the kitchen, going towards the garage where Johnny was.

Buster groaned again. "Not funny, Ash!"

Ash laughed while entering Johnny's garage. She sat on the stool while watching him punching the small bag above his head. "I have accomplished my goal."

Johnny chuckled. "I could tell."

Ash grinned playfully while watching Johnny working out.

Johnny caught her gaze out of the corner of his eyes but he tried not to draw his attention away from his workout.

Ash pondered about what to say to him until a conversation came to mind. "Thanks...you know, for retrieving clothes for me. You didn't have to."

"Well, I thought you would be a bit upset at the fact that I was going through your drawers to find your clothes," Johnny responded while taking a break and sitting on the stool across from her. "I tried not to snoop in them."

"Probably wouldn't be my first reaction. Just a tad bit weird out in the case of what you find in the drawers," Ash replied nervously.

"Just clothes you wear every day," Johnny responded while wiping the sweat off of his brow.

Ash huffed softly, staring at the gorilla. "Well, I would've worn those dresses I bought and I could have worn the same clothes but they're dirty and I just took a shower so...kind of nice to have a pair of clean clothes."

Johnny nodded his head with a grin, staring at her with a kind smile.

Ash frowned a bit while looking down at her feet. "Did you see Lance?"

"Yep, he's still there," Johnny responded with a sigh. "I would've punched him right there and then but I decided not to."

Ash sighed heavily. "I have to face him."

"You have faced him plenty of times...he's got to get the concept that no means no," Johnny explained while looking at her worriedly.

"Well, I tried everything. I tried lying to him about being in a relationship with you, I tried to tell him no and give him a piece of my mind, I tried slapping him, and he still comes back."

Johnny twisted the corner of his mouth downwards in thinking.

Ash sighed heavily. "I'm sorry, I just...don't know what to do."

Johnny pondered deeply, fetching nothing in his brain. "I don't know either."

To Be Continued...
