"One caramel glazed and one coffee, milk with ice." Kate said as she placed the tray on the counter. She applied for this job part-time in Peter Pan Donut and Pastry shop for some money outside of superheroing because when her apartment burned down, somehow, her bank account did the same. Maybe it was stolen.
She had become good friends wih one of the younger baristas. (Could you call them baristas?) Her name was MJ. The first time they met, she was mysterious, and kept calling her "loser" for some reason. Over time, they warmed up and became friends. Not MJ's best friend, though. That role was filled by a guy named... By the life of her, she couldn't remember his name, although MJ mentioned him all the time.
They quite enjoyed their jobs there. There was often a boy that sat at the table in the corner, with the same order everytime, looking at MJ strangely. He looked about high school age. He often had bruises on his face, and he was oddly thin, like he hadn't been eating enough. He never touched his food oher than the occasional bite and sip. She tried to approach him multiple times, but he always apologised and walked out with his cold order.
She'd left people in the dark about the whole archery thing, especially MJ. She was one of her only friends, but she didn't think she was ready to tell her that kind of thing. Besides, it's not like any of her or Clint's former enemies could walk through that glass door within the next 10 seconds, right?

Alright, she was correct. She turned away from the door.
"Kate Bishop! Yastrebinyy rebenok! So we meet again!"
Her eyes widened. At least she was technically correct.
"Who's that?" MJ asked
"U-uhm... she-"
"Just kidding, I don't care." She laughed.
Kate turned to the blonde woman in front of her wearing weapons so well-hidden they're almost invisible.
"Yelena... How did you find me?"
"Well, I was in New York, figured out you had a job, so I popped by to say hello. Also, I'm starving."
"Aren't you... out for Clint?" Kate said, being careful of her wording since other people, (Especially MJ) were around.
"Well, no. This isn't a business trip, and secondly, Clint informed me of the truth behind my sister's passing and therefore I will not kill him." She said nonchalantly.
MJ did a double take.
"Now I care. What was it you said about not killing someone?" Mj asked.
Yelena looked at her.
"Well, If you must know, his name is Cli- mmph!"
Kate stepped around the counter and put her hand over Yelena's mouth to silence her.
"What was that for? Do you not remember I can kill you at any time?" Yelena whispered to Kate after prying her hand off.
"In your own words, If you wanted to kill me, I-"
"You'd already be dead, yeah." She interrupted.
"Anyways, what was that?"
"What do you mean, she doesn't know?"
"Of course she doesn't know! I'm not ready to tell her that I'm a-"
"You guys know I can still hear you, right?" MJ said.
They then stopped talking.
"So... are you two part of some assassin squad I don't know, or..."
"No, nothing like that." Kate said. Not entirely true for Yelena though.
"I think we should sit down." Yelena said.
"There are no empty seats, though." Kate said, directing the blonde's attention to the very occupied café.
"I'll handle this." Yelena said, walking towards a nearby table where a couple was sitting. Yelena then smiled sweetly. The strangers looked at her.
"Oh my gosh! You know, me and my bestie here were, like, talking and we kinda need a seat, so wouldn't it be like, totally awesome if we could use this table?" Kate cringed very hard at the horrible American accent.
The couple agreed, picked up their coffees and walked out after saying goodbye.
"What was that?" Kate laughed.
"American accent. Pretty accurate, no?" Yelena shrugged.
"Where'd you learn that?"
"The Red Room." Yelena deadpanned.
"They teach you how to speak like Hallie from the Cali Valley in assassin school?"
"No. I was kidding, I learned it from..."
"From?"
"turelousewiesfberlyhils." She muttered.
"What?"
"The Real Housewives of... Beverly Hills." She said, embarrased.
"Really?" Kate laughed.
"Look, give me your phone."
She hesitantly obliged, and she did... something.
After she got her phone back, Yelena stood up.
"This has been nice, Kate Bishop, however it is now 12'o clock and I have to do something. Goodbye, yastrebinyy rebenok!"
"Wait!"
Yelena paused as she was about to go out the door.
"Hm?"
"What... what does yastrebinyy rebenok mean?"
"Hawk baby."
...
"You mean you've been calling me Hawk Baby?"
Too late. She was out the door.
*ding.*
She checked her phone.
MESSAGE FROM YELENA 💙
"Tomorrow at 3pm, Hummingbird Park. Don't be late, yastrebinyy rebenok."
She laughed at that.
"What, did she ask you out?" MJ said, startling her.
"Actually... yes." Kate said, showing her the text.
There was a prominent *thwip* noise from outside.
When the two, along with some customers rushed outside, they saw Queens' very own masked vigilante, Spiderman thwip through the city, carrying a picture frame. "Hey, Spiderman!" MJ shouted.
Spiderman looked at her and lost focus for a while, falling down from a large height.
As they gazed with shock, he stuck the landing, and said a brief "Hi" before continuing to thwip on.
