three.

as he plopped himself down on the couch, a heavy sigh escaped his lips while he looks around the room like a lifeless person.

"so what are you going to do now?" asked jaemin.

when the three—jungwoo, jaemin, and renjun— found out about donghyuck being a secretary for the ceo's son they immediately visited the male in his apartment, and now they're here, gathering around his living room, with cups of ice cream on their hands, except for donghyuck.

yeah, he's busy panicking for an ice cream right now.

he was stressed and don't know what to do. firstly, he has to find a way to tell their manager that he's going to leave his job in the coffee shop without telling the reason why—well just because—and second, it still hasn't sunk into him that he's going to be a secretary for one of the biggest and famous company in seoul, for mark lee, the ceo's son to be exact.

the last interaction he had with mark is from that very specific night and just thinking about it made donghyuck internally cringe, he badly want to curl himself up to a ball and throw himself off a cliff out of embarrassment.

"hello?" jungwoo waves his hands in front of the younger's face as he's still not done making an eye contest with the wall, "are you there."

when the tanned male finally snaps out from his thoughts, he looked at the three in front of him and made a fake cry face. "the question is..." he says, "what am i supposed to do now." he sobs, burying his face down on the throw pillows.

the three looked at each other and back to the male, "how exactly did you end up in this situation." asked renjun.

oh, that question just made him sob his heart out, even dramatically pulling his hair out in frustration. yeah, how did he end up in this situation, he asked himself.

sitting up, he harshly rubbed his face and finally looked at the three of them. he pulled himself together and released a heavy sigh, "okay, if i tell you guys about this... promise you won't tell anybody?"

the three scoffed at the tanned male's statement. "we only know each other, haechan," renjun told, "to whom else will i tell this?"

"okay, okay." he shook his head. the older does have a point, but he's too stressed right now to even think straight, "so you guys know when mr. mark lee visited our coffee shop late at night right?"

"woah that's such a formal way to call someone, but okay." jaemin jokes, but soon shuts his mouth when he saw donghyuck glaring at him, "okay, continue."

"so then, i didn't recognize him at first because—in my defense, i don't even know what the ceo's son looks like..." he explained, cringing to himself after recalling his first meeting with the older, "and yeah, i kind of disrespected his whole human being without knowing the consequences i will face and when i tried to apologize, he didn't accept it instead he offered me half a million—"

"half a what?!" all three of them said in unison out of surprise.

the latter sighed in defeat and flopped his body on the couch and just stared at the white ceiling, "and when i said i don't have that much money that's when he said he wanted me to be his secretary."

he held up a card that has the ceo's son's number on it and showed it to the three. jungwoo took a hold of the piece of paper and examines it. "he also didn't even give me a chance to hear my response?!"

"i mean unless he's hot?" jaemin said, but it came out more like he's asking.

"do you think that will make me feel any better?" the younger whined while glaring at the younger male.

"oh cmon," jungwoo now averts his gaze away from the card and back at the tanned male, "it can't be that bad?"

yeah, maybe jungwoo is right. what can go wrong with being the ceo's secretary? i mean, he knows he doesn't have that much experience being secretary reasons being that he's just working on a coffee shop, but he knows himself he got this.

"i got this right?" he asked himself for reassurance but of course, his friends heard it too.

"of course!" they all shouted in unison, even giving the tan male a pat on his shoulder and back. donghyuck nods towards the three and to himself as well.

well then, the first order of business: quit his job—which is at the coffee shop.

———

it was the next day. and instead of wearing his normal uniform for the coffee shop, he's instead wearing a casual fit.

well, he's finally here, standing in front of the place. he looked at the shop's sign for the last time before entering the place. he went straight to the counter, where he easily met the manager of the shop.

standing in front of the counter, he leans down and tries to grab the attention of his manager, "taeyong hyung!" he calls out.

however the said name didn't bother looking back and just continued what he's doing, "what do you want?" he blurts out, still having his eyes on the coffee he's making, "hurry up and help me here."

"u-um... about that." he took a long pause and awkwardly rubbed his nape. taeyong noticed the younger is taking longer to reply so he finally turned around where he saw donghyuck not wearing his uniform for the shop, "i'm leaving my job..."

the older looked at him, dumbfounded. dropping whatever he's doing, the older walks closer at the counter and looked at donghyuck with a frown, "what do you mean?"

"yeah..." donghyuck avoids taeyong's gaze on him, "you know the lee company..?" he went on.

"lee company?" taeyong asked, looking around trying to see think if he's familiar with the name. just then, it clicked on him, "oh lee minhyuck's company? the owner of the most known company here in seoul?" he bombarded the latter with questions, and donghyuck just nodded at all of them, "he also revealed his son right—anyway, what about it?"

how is he going put these into words, donghyuck thought to himself and started looking around while thinking for another way to say this, "uhh... i-i got offered..." he paused, and his light bulb of idea lit up, "for a job! y-yeah! someone offered me a job on the company so that's why..." he finished his words, nodding to himself, satisfied with his answer.

"woah that's great!" taeyong cheered, and smiled at the younger, "well then, good luck, hyuckie." he told, and pets the younger's hair.

finally leaving the coffee shop from the last time, he took a deep breath and brushed his fingers through his hair.

this is it. there's actually no going back now. he left his job at the coffee shop, and now, going to be working at the lee company, specifically—working with mark lee. it could be all butterflies and rainbows once he entered that company or just a complete hell.
