Epilogue👈wtf

[Unlike most books, our story doesn't start with a prologue, or from the beginning. Our book begins from the epilogue and ends with the prologue. It doesn't start with excitement or a love scene. This book starts after a tragic event took the life of someone who had nothing. He was a nobody, yet to certain people; he was a somebody. He was an unknown hero and a brave soul. My mother once said to me, "Usually while a person is still alive, they are called an idiot, and we don't appreciate them. It's not until they are gone, they are praised and called a hero. It's the way life works." Unfortunately, in this book, my mother is right. Then again, mothers advice is almost always right. Let's begin with the ending.]

A/N

Hey, guys! And welcome to a book like no other. If you're confused with the first paragraph, let me clean it up for you.

There is a reason why we're starting from the Epilogue and ending with the Prologue.

I know that probably won't make any sense to you, and you're going to be like - wtf is this author crazy? Who the F*** starts with an Epilogue?

Let me tell you guys, yes I've been diagnosed with a rare disease known as (Crazy Author Syndrome) just kidding! Seriously though, you'll have to read the book to find out why I'm starting with the Epilogue.

For the first chapter(s) I'm going to be using no one's POV, more like narrated and see how it goes, if I don't like it or you guys don't like the way it's written; I'll add POVs.

Anyway! Enough talk. I hope you all enjoy it.

Epilogue

Three people stood at a grave, one man and two women who are sisters. They each felt something different towards the deceased young man whom they were visiting.

Phantom, the eldest out of the sisters, felt great sadness, regret, sorrow, she missed him dearly she felt every other emotion that comes with losing someone you loved. Alex, the youngest of the two sisters also felt love towards the deceased, but it was a different type of love than her sister. The young man became someone who changed both entire sisters outlooks of the human race.

He also shaped and changed the eldest sisters heart in many ways than just one, for Phantom was his lover, his soulmate, the one who was supposed to spend the rest of his life with. But was it fate that caused him to die? Was it his destiny to end up six-feet under the cold, and muddy dirt?

The man who accompanied the sisters also happened to be the dead best-friend; he felt sorrow, and very ashamed of the way he had treated his best-friend in the past. You see, they had many fallouts, as friends do, but their main results were over money and greed.

"I miss you so much it hurts," Phantom choked out, falling to the muddy ground as rain drenched all three. She gripped the sides of the large headstone, and her forehead came to rest on top of the cold stone.

"There are so many things I didn't get to show you," She cried. "So many things I didn't get to say," Her hands gripped the stone so tightly her knuckles turned white. "I'm sorry, I couldn't save you. I wasn't strong enough! Even with my gifts,"

Her gifts are something we will all learn about later, for she is not a human, nor an alien, but her sister is half human.

"Phantom, it wasn't your fault," Alex, the youngest sister replied and gently placed her hand upon Phantom's wet shoulder as the rain started coming down harder. "You've got to forgive yourself, sis."

"How can I forgive myself when he's gone?" Phantom cried, her tears disappearing among the droplets of rain. "I wasn't fast enough to save him!" her long brunette hair, once curled and freshly styled, is now soaked and straight.

"Alex is right, it wasn't your fault Phantom," The man finally spoke up. He too was crying, but again his tears got lost in the rain. "It'll do us no good out here in the rain, and he wouldn't want us to get sick, he-"

"He spent years alone in the rain!" Phantom cracked standing up to face them. Her cheeks flushed from crying so much. "He lived on the streets! His house was a garbage bin for crying out loud! And where were you when he was tossed aside by his fans as garbage?"

"Phantom stop-" Her sister tried to calm her down, but failed.

Phantom blinked multiple times, her bottom lip trembling from both the pain in her heart and from the coldness of the rain. "No one cared about him until he died, I see his face plastered all over the billboards, in the magazines and on the televisions. He's not around anymore so now they appreciate what he did for this city! It's utter bullshit!"

"He would have wanted you to be happy," The youngest sister muttered looking up at the gloomy dark grey clouds above. "He wouldn't want you to be sad."

Alex's words caught Phantom off guard. She remembered telling him the same thing when her parents found out she had told the human boy her secret. They threatened to keep her away from this place; humans were not supposed to know about them.

Phantom broke the most significant law in her world.

"You're right," Phantom took in a large amount of air, her sentence caused both Alex and the man to say in sync, I am? and she is?

Dusting her knee length dress off, and adjusting her rain jacket which failed to protect her. Phantom nodded, looking back at the grave as her breaths came out in puffs of steam, she opened her mouth as a smile found its way onto her face.

"I promise, I'll try to be happy, only for you Bruce."

A/N

Only a small chapter to kick things off.

Keep in mind, every chapter after this one will be after they met, and they will eventually work up to the events which took place before the Epilogue. (You won't see how they met until the very end).

Enjoy guys, please let me know your thoughts. I usually write books with POVs so tell me if you would prefer POVs or keep the chapters like this one.
