SUMMARY :
Coraline Sparrow's past is as enigmatic as the whispers of the sea itself. The only thing she knows for certain is that the infamous pirate Jack Sparrow is her father, while her mother's identity remains a closely guarded secret, locked away in Jack's heart and mind.

Her childhood was a whirlwind of sailing from one port to another, never staying in one place long enough to call it home. Jack taught her everything he knew about sailing, sword fighting, and the art of thievery. However, his absence left Coraline feeling both loved and neglected, creating a complex and conflicted relationship with her father.

During one of her many adventures, Coraline stumbled upon an ancient artifact, a cursed compass, which could lead her to any desired location and show her the past, present, and future. The compass also granted her an extended lifespan, but at a cost. Slowly, the compass began to drain her soul, leaving her with a choice: break the curse or face a slow and inevitable death.

Coraline's knowledge of the future through the compass led her to the residents of Storybrooke, who had returned to the Enchanted Forest. She believed that they held the key to breaking her curse, and she took every opportunity to cross their paths and get to know them. However, it wasn't until a new curse brought them all back to Storybrooke that Coraline met Regina's son, Henry Mills, and realized that the future was playing out exactly as she had foreseen.

The young Sparrow would do anything to get Henry to break her curse, including using her charm and wit to get close to him. But as she got to know him better, she realized that she had fallen in love with the boy who had stolen her heart. Coraline felt guilty and pushed him away, condemning herself to a slow death rather than using the boy she had come to love.

ADDITIONAL NOTES :
━ The reason why there are two gifs of China Anne McClain as Coraline is so you can better understand what she looks like both in the Enchanted Forest and later in Storybrooke. She has blue hair and wears pirate get-up in the Enchanted Forest. When's she brought to Storybrooke during the curse in Season 3, her hair is all black and she's wearing normal clothing. As she spends more time in Storybrooke, she'll want to go back to some of her old wears, so she'll dye her hair again. But otherwise she will start dressing normally in Storybrooke.

━ Coraline's nickname is Coral. She personally hates it, preferring to be called Coraline. Only her dad calls her Coral, and she likes to think he does it just to get on her nerves.

━ Like her father, Coraline is quick-witted and possesses a knack for finding creative (and often morally ambiguous) solutions to problems. She is fiercely independent and resistant to authority, preferring to chart her own course. A life on the sea has instilled in her a thirst for adventure and a fearlessness that borders on recklessness. While she trusts easily, once you earn her loyalty, she will defend you fiercely. Beneath her bravado lies a deep-seated fear of abandonment and a lingering sadness stemming from her complicated family history. She struggles with feelings of inadequacy, always feeling like she has to prove herself. Coraline also possesses her father's talent for disarming others with humor and a devil-may-care attitude.

━ Coraline's origins are shrouded in mystery, even to her. She knows that Jack Sparrow is her father, but the identity of her mother remains a closely guarded secret, one that Jack refuses to divulge.

━ At one point, seeking to escape her father's shadow (and his enemies), Coraline sought refuge in a hidden cove, where she stumbled upon an ancient artifact: a cursed compass that could not only lead her to any desired location, but showed her the past, present, and future. The compass also grants her long-life. For years, she used the compass to her advantage. However, the compass began draining her soul. Slowly, but surely, she will die unless she breaks the curse.

━ When the residents of Storybrooke return to the Enchanted Forrest in Season 3, Coraline is one of the first people that the group meets. She is a pirate in the Enchanted Forest, but a recluse due to her curse.

━ Due to the ability to see the future through the compass, Coraline knew that the residents of Storybrooke are the key to breaking her curse, and this is why she purposly crosses their paths and gets close to them. Coraline hopes to get to know them, to understand why they're the key to breaking her curse and freedom from the compass slowly killing her.

━ The first time that Regina meets Coraline, she's immediately drawn to the teenage girl. This is her curse drawing them together, as Coraline's fate is sealed with Regina, who will eventually lead her to Henry, who in reality is the real key to breaking her curse.

━ Coraline and Killian would recognize each other. They'd met a few times, and for a while, she'd even been apart of his crew. Killian also met her father, Jack Sparrow, on many occasions. Due to their past, they will get close, until Killian leaves the group.

━ When they're brought back to Storybrooke by another curse, Regina introduces Coraline to Henry, and this is when Coraline realizes that the future is playing out exactly as she foreseen: Storybrooke is the key, and it's because she meets Henry there.

━ Coraline and Henry are a medium burn. Things shouldn't move too fast between them.

━ At first, Coraline is actually hesitant to get to know him. But she eventually does, and she feels guilty as the two of them become fast friends. Coraline realizes what kind of person Henry is, and feels as though she would betray his friendship by using him to break her curse.

━ Coraline will start to push Henry away, condemning herself to a slow death, as she refuses to get any closer to Henry. When Henry realizes what she is doing, he approaches her about it, and this is when Coraline confesses the truth about her curse and how she intended to use him to break her curse, but ultimately decided against it because she couldn't bear the thought of using him like that.

━ At the point of this reveal, they've been friends for a while and Henry will admit that he has a crush on her. He is hurt that she didn't tell him she is cursed and slowly dying, but he understands her fears. Henry tells her that he wants to break her curse, and that she couldn't possibly hurt him by allowing him to save her life.

━ Coraline and Henry share True Love's kiss, successfully breaking her curse and saving her life. The cursed compass will turn to ash, crumping to pieces when the kiss happens, and Coralíne will feel as her soul is restored inside her body.

━ At some point before they share True Love's kiss, but during the Queens of Darkness plotline in Season 4, Coralíne will discover who her mother is because she is one of the Queens of Darkness.

━ The identity of her mother is Tia Dalma, who has a certain history with Jack Sparrow. This means that Coraline is capable of using voodoo-type dark magic, but having never used magic before, she'll need to be properly trained with it. (Cue Regina.)
