The first thing Victor did after becoming champion was take a nap. 

He didn't quite think it was dignified but he was too tired to care. 

He had been pulling all-nighters since his journey started, only sleeping when the people working for the league would force him into his hotel room to sleep, not considering the consequences of staying awake and training for so long. 

So when he woke up 12 hours later, he wasn't too surprised. He probably should've slept before but it didn't matter. He was going to take today off anyway since his championly duties didn't start until the beginning of the next week. Which means... 

He went to his Rotom-phone almost immediately. Victor didn't expect any notifications, other than the occasional PokeTube video from his favorite creators. What he didn't expect was to be added to a group chat where it seems the chaos had already started.

He opened the chat against his better judgement and what he saw made him smile. 

SleepIsForTheWeak: Nope

FairyTale: What?

SleepIsForTheWeak: I'm not allowing this

~SleepIsForTheWeak has changed FairyTale's name to KomaedaApologist~

KomaedaApologist: Okay, if we're starting THIS up again...

~KomaedaApologist changed SleepIsForTheWeak's name to ForgiveMe!~

ForgiveMe!: ...

ForgiveMe!: I-

ForgiveMe!: Okay, she did nothing wrong

KomaedaApologist: Ohoho! I beg to differ. 

GrookeyGang: Okay, I see Victor is lurking, you lot'd better not spoil anything. He hasn't beaten 2 yet. 

BabyMetal: Hi Victor

Victor smiled, only barely getting the reference as he's only played to chapter 2. 

SobbleSquad: Hey Marnie! 

BabyMetal: Sorry Vic, they get pretty heated about their favorite characters

SobbleSquad: I can tell, to be fair, I do too

GrookeyGang: The problem is ya can't get attached to anyone.

BeachBabe: Oh Arceus not this again

BabyMetal: Hi Nessa

Oh, it's the whole league. Victor had made the assumption it was just the kids. Nope. It's everyone. This is going to be good. 

~KomaedaApologist has changed their name to FairyTale~

~ForgiveMe! has changed their name to CoffeeZombie~

BigBrother: Wait Hop, since when have you started drinking coffee? 

CoffeeZombie: Since I became Sonia's assistant. 

ScienceMum: Oh give it a rest. I don't work you THAT hard. 

CoffeeZombie: I beg to differ

ScienceMum: T H E N   B E G 

GoldenYears: Please don't fight, children

ScienceMum: Yes mom

CoffeeZombie: Yes mom

GrookeyGang: Look how in sync they are! It's almost as if they were meant to work together 

BabyMetal: ~Destiny~

TallDarkAndHandome: Oh it's starting already?

SobbleSquad: Wait wait wait, before more arguing starts, can I get a name drop so I don't get confused? 

GrookeyGang: Oh yeah! I'm obviously the better twin. 

'Gloria...' Internally, Victor groaned. 

BabyMetal: I'm Marnie but I think you knew that 

SobbleSquad: Yup, I have you, Hop, Gloria, and Bede saved in my phone

FairyTale: So obviously we don't need to introduce ourselves. Opal just has her name so you won't confuse her. 

BeachBabe: I'm Nessa. 

'Figures...' He thought to himself. 

ScienceMum: I'm Sonia! You probably figured that out tho

'Yup, that one was pretty obvious by the way she and Hop bickered', he smiled a little. 

BigBrother: I'm Leon! 

TallDarkAndHandsome: You sure are. I'm Raihan. 

'Leave it to Raihan to somehow make a SpongeBob reference into a compliment about himself'. 

GoldenYears: I'm Melanie. Hope you rested after your big battle yesterday. It sure was intense! 

SobbleSquad: I did! I slept for a lot longer than I expected to. 

GoldenYears: Glad you got some rest sweetie. 

'Okay so chat mom, got it'. 

WoolooWhisperer: Hey all! Just got back from some good ol' Wooloo hearding on the farm! 

'Okay, that's definitely Milo'. 

WoolooWhisperer: Hi Victor! Hoping you're well after yesterday! 

SobbleSquad: Hey Milo! Yeah, I'm feeling very awake. 

RagingFire: Hey Victor my boy! 

SobbleSquad: Kabu? 

RagingFire: You got it! 

NeedsABreak: I'm Bea and TruePacifist is Allister. He probably won't be awake for another couple hours or so.

TruePacifist: ...Do not assume...

NeedsABreak: Oooooookay then. Good morning Alli!

TruePacifist: G'Mornin'... Hello Victor, champion... 

SobbleSquad: Good morning Allister! 

TruePacifist: ...Though is it really a good morning if the morning has barely started?

MCRwasNeverDead: alli's on some deep shit this mornin'

'That must be Piers. I mean, who else would it be...'

NeedsABreak: Piers! Not in front of the kid!

TruePacifist: ...

TruePacifist: ...

TruePacifist: Frick

MCRwasNeverDead: see bea? allister swears too! he ain't that young

NeedsABreak: ...

NeedsABreak: *sigh*

NeedsABreak: Piers, a dollar in the swear jar. 

MCRwasNeverDead: fine

RockBottom: I'm Gordie. 

SobbleSquad: Hey Gordie! 

BabyMetal: And that should be everyone. 

BabyMetal: Don't expect us all to be here together all the time. 

SobbleSquad: That sounds fair. Anyway, I have the day off. Meet at my place? 

BabyMetal: Sounds good to me! If Piers would let me out of his iron grip for more than one second...

MCRwasNeverDead: why i'd never- marnie you can go

BabyMetal: Great! Thanks bro! 

MCRwasNeverDead: as long as you're home by dinner

BabyMetal: Fiiiiiiine

GrookeyGang: Seeing as Vic and I live in the same house, I'll be there too. 

FairyTale: @Opal can I go to Victor and Gloria's house later today? 

Opal: As long as you complete my quiz, you can. 

FairyTale: So that means I'll be there in an hour or so

SobbleSquad: Sounds good! Hop? 

ScienceMum: He'll go. 

CoffeeZombie: But don't I have a lot of things to do around the lab, like clean the plants, annotate essays, take dna samples-

ScienceMum: He'll. Go. 

CoffeeZombie: I'll go. 

SobbleSquad: Ooookay. I'll see you all when you get here! 

NeedsABreak: Can Alli and I come too? I need to get out of the gym and Alli needs to be more social. 

TruePacifist: Pstststststtstststst

TruePacifist: I have friends...

GrookeyGang: NGL seeing Alli keyboard smash was cute

SobbleSquad: Sure! You two can come over anytime! 

NeedsABreak: Thank you! I'll be sure to bring snacks. 

TruePacifist: ...thanks...

SobbleSquad: No problem! See y'all then! 

Victor turned his phone off with a smile. The squad +2 were coming over. To say he's excited was an understatement. 

That's when he heard it. It started off as faint thudding and slowly evolved into frantic running which turned into pounding on his door. 

"VICTOR OPEN UP!!!" was heard faintly through his door, making him smile a bit. 

He got up and slowly meandered to his door with every intention of making whoever's knocking, no, abusing, his poor door wait a moment longer. 

As soon as he even lightly turned his doorknob, whoever was knocking stumbled into his room clumsily, falling to the floor once the door had been opened. 

"Didya have to open the door so quickly?" His sister said from her face-first position on his floor. 

"I barely even twisted the doorknob before you came barreling in," he said with a faint smirk. She rolled over to look at him, still not bothering to move from the floor. 

"Okay, you've got me there. BUT-" then she got up. "Marnie is coming over" 

"Everyone is coming over," he quipped sarcastically. 

"Yeah but MARNIE is coming. Marnie!" 

"Marnie, sister of Piers? Tamer of dark types? Your long time crush of three wee-" 

"SJJHJHJHJHHHHHHHHHH!" Gloria had scrambled to cover his mouth before he said any more. "Yes, that Marnie."

Mumbles to the faint tune of "will you let me go now" were heard but since Victors mouth was covered, you couldn't exactly tell. Apparently Gloria was able to understand and uncovered his mouth. 

"If we're talking about crushes, though," she started, "might we talk about your crushes on both Hop and Bede?" She smirked, knowing that it was his turned to get flustered and the tables have been successfully turned. 

"No no no no at any moment they could walk in and he-" 

"Hey Victor, Gloria! Were you two talking about something?" Hop had chosen that moment to miraculously appear in their house. The twins' mother must've let him in since they sure as hell wouldn't have heard him. 

"Nothing, nothing!" Victor scrambled to regain his composure and dignity. Gloria was not all willing to let go of the topic, though. 

"Oh, we were just talking about Victors HUUUUUUGE crushes on-" Gloria was the one forcibly silenced this time. 

"NOTHING! NOTHING AT ALL!" If you could compare the color of Victors face to anything at that moment, it would've been an Applin. 

"Okay, I mean, I'm not going to judge if you do want to talk about it," Hop said with a confused and slightly amused face. The twins' antics never failed to put a smile on his face. 

"No it's fine! It's a topic that is best left alone until it eventually shrivels and dies," Victor said dramatically. It was almost funny. 

That was when Marnie and Bede showed up, Allister and Bea not too far behind them. 

"I'm sorry, were we interrupting something?" Bede asked with an amused smirk, having walked in on a very flustered Victor covering Gloria's mouth who didn't seem to be protesting and Hop who wore an expression similar to Bede's own in that moment. Bea was giggling a little, Marnie had a fond smile, and Allister... Well, you couldn't really tell what Allister was thinking even without his mask on but seeing as he has it on it was even harder to tell, but it's safe to assume he's amused as well. 

~Time skip to a few hours later~

Bea and Allister had gone home after a few hours, Bea saying they need to rest but everyone knew that Allister was going to stay up anyway. 

Bede had left after getting a text from Opal saying he needed to come back. Some corner of the gym hadn't been cleaned thoroughly enough, he said. 

Marnie had left around the same time as Bede, saying that she needed to make dinner for both her and Piers. That led to an offer from Gloria to have both Marnie and Piers stay for dinner at their house but Marnie politely declined, saying Piers would throw a fit if she wasn't home before dark. She left them with a mental image of Piers throwing a temper tantrum like a 5 year old. That made them all smile. 

Hop stayed, being the last to leave. So the three of them were currently on the floor of Victors room, playing a game of some sort. 

They were playing Spoons, a card game where if you get four of a kind, you grab a spoon. The last one to grab a spoon is out. Victor tended to be the one out most of the time since his tired brain was too slow to process much. His reflexes started getting better after 5-6 rounds of the game. Gloria had a tendency to fake them out, pretending to reach for a spoon but never actually grabbing one. That trick actually worked on Victor twice and both of those times Gloria cackled like a mad woman. Hop played clean, no tricks or fake outs at all. 

After an hour of cards, they started talking. 

Hop talked about his time under Sonia, even if it's only been a day or so. He talked about the chaos of being a lab assistant. He talked about how crazy it's been, how much he's learned (about Pokemon and himself), and how much he's grown as a person since the gym challenge started. He was quite thankful for both Gloria and Victor, saying how without them he wouldn't be who he is now. The twins brushed it off, saying it was nothing and he would've realized this sooner or later anyway. 

Gloria talked about food. She talked about the newest curry recipe she's learned and how much her Rillaboom loves it. She talked about how she made that recipe for Marnie once and Marnie complimented her and how much her cooking has gotten better (both boys noticed the blush dusting her cheeks.). She talked about her favorite berries and ingredients to use together and alone. 

Then, the conversation turned to Victor. 

Victor talked about his insecurities. How unprepared he was as champion. He talked about how he wasn't ready to lead an entire region. He talked about how he needs help. Hop said that if he needs help, he should talk to Leon. Hop's sure that Leon would be more than willing to help if Victor asked. Hop also said that now that Leon has nothing to do, he can almost guarantee that Leon would jump at any opportunity to help the young champion. 

The three of them did a big group hug. They'd all been there for each other since they were little kids. They'd been through every huge milestone of their lives together. Now that his insecurities are out, Victor felt a lot more relaxed. 

Hop had made up his mind that he was staying over at the their house tonight. Victor had volunteered to sleep on the floor but Hop had argued with him, saying that they can sleep on the bed together, they've done it before, what makes now any different? Gloria made a face with a knowing yet mischievous smile. 

"I'll leave you to it, then," she said as she made her exit. 

Both boys looked at each other and gently blushed. 

"So..." Victor started. 

"Yeah.." Hop said. 

"Uh... Do you need some clothes to change in to?" Victor asked. 

"Kinda. I wasn't really expecting to stay over but yeah..." Hop said. Luckily both boys were the same size so sharing clothes wasn't uncommon between them. 

Victor rummaged through his drawers and pulled out a shirt and shorts for Hop to wear which he promptly changed in to. 

While Hop was changing, Victor checked his phone. Unsurprisingly, his phone had blown up in the time the kids were hanging out together.

RockBottom: You're still young, Raihan. 

TallDarkAndHandsome: Time flies, young Gordie.

BigBrother: They grow up so fast!

Victor smiled as he turned his phone off again, noticing Hop had come back in and checked his phone as well. 

"Ah, young love," Hop reminisced, almost sounding like Leon.

Victor giggled and looked at Hop. Suddenly, a lot of thoughts came into his head at once. 

'Wow, he really has grown since the challenge started. He seems a lot more mature, but his goofy side is still there. Does Sonia ever give him a break? I wonder what all he's learned,' Hop coughed, Victor hadn't realized he was staring. 

They both smiled at each other. They'd become aware of the other's feelings a while before but were both too scared to act on it. They haven't exactly talked about it, if the topic was ever brought about, they'd skirt around it. Victor was also aware of his own feelings for Bede. He didn't know if Hop had felt the same way about the platinum blonde, if he did, he was more than willing to have a relationship with both. 

Leon, Piers, and Raihan were all in a relationship. All three of them were really happy with each other. That much Victor knew. Maybe he was just too afraid to ask Hop and Bede to be with him. 

'One day,' he thought while he lay down in bed. 'One day...'

Both boys fell asleep, dreaming of Gloria's cooking.

TruePacifist: Earl grey...

MCRwasNeverDead: and the ghosts?

TruePacifist: Surprisingly calm tonight. It's not a haunting, so the are decidedly quiet. 

MCRwasNeverDead: so wait, you can tell when a hauntings about to happen?

TruePacifist: ...

TruePacifist: ...some things are best left not revealed to those unaware of their true power...

MCRwasNeverDead: words of wisdom from the great allister

TruePacifist: P...

MCRwasNeverDead: now you should get some sleep. bea will yell at you in the morning if you dont

TruePacifist: ...

TruePacifist: The spirits sleep, as shall I...

MCRwasNeverDead: okay. goodnight allister

And thus ends chapter 1! This took three hours to write. Hope y'all liked the small Danganronpa 2 reference at the beginning. I'm playing through the game and just finished trial 5 and let me tell you, nothing has hurt me more than trial 4. It's currently 3 am and I'm still not tired so chapter 2 is probably gonna come out pretty soon. Look out for it!
