Chapter 182
It was around four a.m when the door to a 24/7 diner in Yorkshire opened and two tall men walked inside, both their hairs a bright shade of red and their faces filled with freckles.
The owner of the small restaurant gave them a suspicious look from over the counter as the two ginger men made their way over a booth and sat down. They were wearing the weirdest clothes the owner had ever seen in his life; long navy blue cloaks that he had only seen in Dracula movies before.
But Fabian and Gideon Prewett hardly cared what the Muggles thought of them that night.
So with their traveling cloaks still wrapped around them, the two red-haired brothers sat down behind a booth. They were the only costumers there, considering how late it was.
They were in Yorkshire that night on Order business and so instead of going to a Wizarding pub such as the Three Broomstick or the Leaky Cauldron which were too dangerous at the time, they decided to go to a Muggle diner.
"What are these things?" Fabian blinked a few times down at the menu in confusion. "What is S-prite?"
"Probably some kind of Muggle cake." Gideon shrugged unsurely.
"Ooh, how about fish and chips!?" Fabian said excitedly, pointing down at it.
"Ah, yes! I'd kill for one of them." Gideon nodded in agreement before calling the owner over to take their orders.
"How may I help you, gentlemen?" the owner asked in his thick Irish accent, still suspiciously glancing at the two red-headed and freckly men in their weird clothings.
"Two fish and chips," said Fabian, "and for drinks two Butterbeers. Although if you have Fire Whiskey that would be great too. You know, to wash the tension away." He chuckled, but the owner only stared at him.
"Sir, we don't serve whiskey here, of that's what you mean," said the owner hesitantly. "Although we do have beer."
"Oh, all right." Fabian grinned. "Then two Butterbeers it is!"
The owner frowned in confusion. "I'll — I'll be back with your food and beer." And so he left their side.
"Why did he keep saying beer?" Gideon whispered in amusement.
"Dunno. It must be an Irish thing," said Fabian, rolling his eyes playfully.
"Oh, by the way," Gideon shook his head as he remembered something, suddenly looking more cheerful than before, "I got a letter from Molly yesterday."
"Oh, yeah?" Fabian's heart leaped with joy at those words. "How is she? How about Arthur and the children?"
"Oh, they're all right. She said the baby will be born in August. Molly has a feeling that this one's going to be a girl."
"Let's hope it is, or they'll just keep giving birth to boys until they finally get a girl," Fabian joked and they both laughed. "What are they gonna name her, if it's a girl?"
"Probably Ginevra," said Gideon. "And they're so excited that Bill's starting his first year at Hogwarts in a few months. Although they're obviously worried, giving the state of things..."
"How about the others?"
"Oh, she kept complaining about Fred and George." Gideon shook his head, although he couldn't hide his proud grin. "She said there isn't a single day that goes by without them causing trouble. They've never had a peaceful day ever since those two were old enough to crawl."
Fabian laughed. "What did they do this time?"
Gideon's grin widened. "Apparently Fred turned Ronald's teddy bear into a giant spider."
Fabian broke down into roars of laughter and his brother joined. "Those two have bright future ahead of them, I tell you. Just like their uncles."
"True." Gideon smirked and just then the owner brought their meal, moving away from their table as quick as possible.
Fabian had just taken a sip of the weird bottle of beer before spitting it out in disgust. "Ugh! What the heck is this!?"
Confused, Gideon took a sip from his drink as well, only to spit it out with the same grimace. "Ugh... no wonder Muggles look so dull. Look what they have to drink!"
"You know what?" Fabian sighed. "Let's just eat quickly and go back home. I can really do with some sleep. And tomorrow we give the Weasleys a visit. I really miss those little ginger devils."
Gideon chuckled, nodding. "Good idea."

Jenna couldn't remember being this horrified in her entire life. She'd rather have Voldemort find out about her secret and torture her to insanity than to try to deliberately bring harm to the people she deemed as her family for the last few years in the Order.
Before agreeing to this mission, Dumbledore had warned her that such thing would happen, but she never expected it to come down to this. She had sent the warning to Dumbledore, but the Death Eaters had tracked down the Prewetts before Dumbledore could tell them to go into hiding.
So now that it was too late, Jenna stood in ambush in an empty alleyway in Yorkshire with Amycus Carrow and Dolohov, along with three other Death Eaters, waiting for the two Order members to pass them by.
But her heart gave a painful ache when she heard voices ahead, nearing them as the two men laughed. She knew those two cheerful voices all too well. Somehow, they were always the light and soul of the meetings, joking around to brighten the mood.
But now Jenna stood there hidden with the other Death Eaters, waiting for them to give the signal. And just then, with his wand at the ready in his hand, Dolohov nodded at them and so they jumped out of their hideouts the moment the Prewetts came into sight.
"FABIAN!" Gideon yelled at his brother to get his attention and in a blink of an eye, the two wizards took out their wands, blocking the curses shot at their direction.
"ALECTO! DON'T JUST STAND THERE!" Amycus yelled and Jenna snapped out of her daze, too shocked to even move a muscle. "DO SOMETHING!"
So with that, Jenna moved forward and joined the other Death Eaters in the battle who were having a hard time defeating the two powerful wizards. But she only tried to block the spells and not attacking, hoping that nobody would notice.
But just as Fabian was busy fighting off the other Death Eaters, Jenna saw Amycus raise his wand at him, ready to send a curse. So without thinking, Jenna quickly raised her wand and blocked it before it could hit Fabian.
"WHAT THE HELL DO TOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, BLOCKING MY SPELL!?" Amycus yelled at her through the chaos.
"This wand is broken! It's not mine!" Jenna shouted, hoping that he would buy it. But Amycus was stupider than that to argue, so he went back to the battle.
The sounds of crashes and shrieks had filled all the alleyway, explosions bringing down the walls nearby. The Death Eaters knew they had to bring it to an end soon before the Muggles would come out.
But just then, Jenna held back a scream as she felt her whole world crumbling down when the wall nearby exploded, crashing onto Gideon as his lifeless body fell to the cold ground.
"NO! GIDEON! NO!" Fabian roared at the sight of his brother's motionless body.
But in a moment of despair, one of the other Death Eaters raised his wand at him and shouted, "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
"NO!" Jenna shrieked uncontrollably as the flash of green light hit Fabian across the chest, hurtling him over.
But her voice was thankfully faded by the sound of sirens, coming from the police cars nearing them from over the street.
"We need to go. Now." Dolohov ordered with a triumphant smirk on his face and so he and the other two Death Eaters Disapparated.
"Alecto! We've got to get going! Alecto!" Amycus yelled after her, but Jenna was frozen on the spot, staring at the two with wide eyes, feeling like she would faint any moment.
So with a huff, Amycus walked toward his sister and grabbed her arm, Disapparating out of the alleyway and leaving the two dead men behind.
