1: Welcome to Forks

Witches are beings that possess magical powers. They connect themselves with the elements and forces of nature; witches uphold their sacred duty as the Servants of Nature, to maintain balance within the world and combat the forces that disrupt the balance.

Witches are suspected to have originated from Atlantis and have lived there for thousands of years. While the origins of witchcraft remains a mystery, witches have existed for many millennia, passing down their knowledge and skills through generations in family lines.

Witches once roamed the earth in peace for years, that was until the humans and vampires started to rip their way through, slaughtering countless witches.  Prosecuted for their gifts, for being different. Those who survived had to watch as their sisters, daughters, and mothers were being hanged, burned, drowned or crushed.

Forced to hide not only their powers from the world but also themselves as well. Hiding in plain sight right next to humans, only using magic when necessary.

Now after two centuries in the shadows, the witches are ready to reveal themselves and show the werewolves and vampires that they aren't the only supernaturals walking the earth.....

Evelyn Proctor danced as she swept the leaves off the porch of her ancestral home. A simple sun-faded white with sunflower window shutters house. A house that was big enough to house all fourteen of them, especially since some of them share a room.

The sky was clear as the sun beamed down on the brunette as she danced around, broom in hands and headphones in ears, music at full blast.

"Evelyn!" A muffled voice called

Oblivious to her surroundings, her mindless dancing lead her slip and fall down the four steps of the porch. The fall knocked the headphones out of her ears and caused her to look around.

"Evelyn, how many times do you have to fall down the steps of the porch to get it through your thick stubborn witch skull that you dance and sweep up here at the same time?" An olive-skinned girl named Seylah asked her friend.

"As many times as it takes." Evelyn smiled. "I have a very thick head." She said tapping on her head.

"Oh I know you have a thick head." Seylah chuckled referencing how stubborn Evelyn was and how most psychics couldn't read her mind.

"So what are you doing? I thought you were protesting about how unfair about not being able to go into town?" Evelyn asked as she started the sweep the steps.

"I am protesting but I'm also getting stir crazy and you know how I get when I'm stir crazy and bored." Seylah sighed.

"If you want something to do, you could always help me finish my chores?" Evelyn suggested as she smiled looking at her friend.

"I got an even better idea, what if we go to La Push?" Seylah suggested with a huge smile. "We haven't been there since we were kids about yay high."

Evelyn continued to sweep the stairs, "I don't know Sey, you know we aren't really allowed to leave the house yet, well not before asking my mom."

"She's in Port Angeles. She won't be back until later tonight." Seylah said

"My mother always knows but I know that you won't shut up until we go to La Push." Evelyn sighed

Seylah smiles, "You know me so well." she said before walking back inside the house.

Evelyn chuckled as she shook her head as she finished up sweeping the steps.

After a few minutes, Seylah walked out of the house wearing a red jacket. "This one is for you," she said handing her a purple jacket.

Evelyn chuckled as she grabbed the jacket and put it on, "You're something else, you know." she chuckled as fixed her jacket and hair.

"I know but you love me anyway. Now come on." Seylah smiled as she looped her arm through hers as they started walking.

The girls finally arrived at La Push after what seemed like an eternity in the car. Evelyn parked the car before getting out and waiting at the front of the car.

"I never thought that we would ever get here. You drive like an old lady." Seylah said as she got out of the car and walking to the front of the car, standing next to Evelyn.

"Sorry for doing the speed limit. I didn't want to get a speeding ticket." Evelyn commented. "Now remember, we are only staying for an hour."

Seylah sighed "Yes, mom." she chuckled before walking away from the car and further onto the beach.

Evelyn followed behind Seylah. La Push hadn't changed, at least not too much. As she walked, she smiled seeing very few happy people made her happy. She looked around to see where Seylah had went chuckled when she saw her friend talking to some boys. Some very good looking, shirtless russet boys.

Evelyn walked over to Seylah and her newfound friends. "We've only been here for ten minutes and you've already made friends." she chuckled.

"I know." Seylah smiled looking at Evelyn before looking back at the boys. "This is Quil, Embry, and Paul." Seylah said pointing at each of the boys. "Guys, this is my best friend, Evelyn."

"Hello." Evelyn smiled as she held up her hand to do a quick wave before putting her hands back in her pockets. Evelyn looked at Paul and gasped slightly when she felt the air around her change, she smiled lightly before looking back at Seylah.

"Are you guys new? We haven't seen you here before." Embry asked looking at the girls.

"Yeah, we moved here a few days ago. We use to live in Forks when we were younger." Seylah explained.

Evelyn elbowed Seylah in the side for talking about 'moving' here. "Aren't you guys cold?" Evelyn asked changing the subject.

The guys chuckled at Evelyn's question, "Not really. We grew up here. We're kind of use to it." Embry smiled.

"Well, I'm not complaining." Seylah smiled looking at Embry.

Evelyn looked at her watched as her friend flirted with the boy named Embry as she looked at her phone, she had a feeling that her mother would call at any moment.

She sighed as she paced on the beach since she was focused on her phone, she bumped into someone. "Sorry...Paul." She said as she looked up at the boy standing in front of her who she met moments ago.

"Don't worry about." Paul said looking at Evelyn. "But another few feet and you would have 'bumped' into the water."

Evelyn smiled softly, "Well, if I did, I know how to swim."

"Why are you fixated on your phone and not having fun like your friend?" Paul asked looking down at her. He loved how her hair blew in the wind.

"Seylah can find fun anywhere she goes and we weren't supposed to leave the house, I'm just waiting for my mom to call freaking out." Evelyn explained looking at Paul, and the moment they locked eyes, she calmed down a little.

She felt like she was floating and that Paul was the anchor keeping her grounded. She blinked as she shook her head. Evelyn knew that life in Forks would be anything but boring.

The two broke eye contact when they heard a ringing, breaking them out of their trance. Evelyn looked down at her phone and saw that it was her mother calling. "I-I uh should take this." she said softly before taking a few steps away from him. "Hi, mom." she said in a fake happy tone.

"I'm just checking in on how the chores are coming along and to see if you have gotten settled yet?" her mother, Margaret asked

"The chores are slowly coming along and we are getting settled but I don't see the point in getting settled when we are going to be moving in a few months anyway." Evelyn told her mother.

Evelyn was still upset that they had to moved from Maine to Washington. That's all she has ever known, after a while it was exhausting. She wished that the move to Forks, that anything could happen.

Paul couldn't help but eavesdrop, it broke his heart to listen to her words. Having realized that he had just imprinted on the girl, her words truly did break his heart. He didn't want her to leave Forks or leave him, knowing that the pain would be unbearable.

"We had to move, we had no choice. Lana and Beatrix used their powers in public. If we didn't move, who knows how long it would have been before we were ran out of town." Margaret sighed.

Margaret hated packing up her life and moving all over the United States, but it was necessary when someone from the coven used their powers in public. Moving protected the coven.

"I know that but I can't spend my life moving all over US. I want this to be our last move for a while." Evelyn sighed telling her mother.
