Werewolves
These werewolves are not like the ones seen in most human mythology. In fact, many of them cannot shapeshift into wolves at all, instead assuming the form of vaguely canine creatures. They also lack the ability to turn humans and other species into werewolves. In humanoid form, werewolves are very similar in appearance to humans. Their skin and hair tones cover the full spectrum of human coloration. Werewolf eye colors are always shades of brown. Their ears tend to be more pointed than human ears, and the foot structure of werewolves mimics that of canines.
NAMES
Werewolves usually use the same names as humans, though some families prefer to take inspiration from Latin.
TRAITS
Werewolves tend to be more athletic than humans, and more aware of their surroundings. They live as long as humans do, and mature at the same rate.
Werewolves are usually chaotic or neutral alignments.
Werewolves are more muscular than humans, and are often taller as well. They are slightly faster than humans in their humanoid form, and twice as fast after shifting.
Werewolves are able to see up to 30 feet from themselves in dim or dark lighting. They are only able to see shades of gray in these settings. However, a werewolf's keen sense of smell and excellent hearing often make up for this.
Werewolves are resistant to silver weapons, but are vulnerable to weapons of pure or "blessed" iron.
They can speak, read, and write the universal human language, as well as communicate through barks, growls, and howling.
SHIFTING
It takes about ten seconds for a werewolf to shift, and the process is often extremely painful.
The animal form of a werewolf is slightly larger than a normal wolf. They have oddly angular limbs, a forked tail, sharp teeth, and serrated claws. Werewolf fur is always short and sleek, and comes in shades of brown, gray, and black. Each werewolf has a distinct set of markings that follow physical or acquired traits of their humanoid form.
