"Are you sure it's alright for me to be here?" You gulped.

"Of course! Of course! Don't worry about it." Amy stated, dragging you toward the table in the middle.

You were in the Base again because the call disrupted your visit last time.

"Oh my! Name-chan, welcome to the KyoryuBase." Ian teased as he entered.

"Oh, hi, Ian-san." you smiled at him.

"What are you doing here Ian? Thought you were busy on a date." Amy teased.

"Why would I be on the date...when the most beautiful girl in the world is right here?" Ian winked and gunshotted at you with a daisy.

You laughed it off as you are getting used to Ian's flirty attempts. Amy sighed and just shook her head.

"Just wait until Souji-kun knows about this." Amy commented.

"Oh my! I would still do it, though." Ian stated.

"Are you sure?" a voice popped up that gave Ian a jumpscare. Amy and Ian looked around to see where the voice was coming from. Seeing no one, they turned and saw you laughing.

"Y/N-chan, did you just impersonate Souji-kun's voice?" Amy asked.

"Name-chan, I didn't know you have such talent," Ian complimented.

You shook your head, "I'm not good...it's just a game between me and Sou-chan when we were competing to see who can impersonate each other voice. He always wins, of course, cause going to a high voice is always easier." you pout as you recalled the memory.

Amy and Ian chuckled at the sight before your phone rang.

"Moshi Moshi..." you answered, "Kaa-san..."

"I don't know how to bring it up though..."

"Don't worry. I will soon."

"See you tonight, Kaa-san."

Then you hung up.

"Y/N-chan, are you leaving????" Amy asked. You were surprised at Amy's statement.

"Wait---how---"

"Just guessing" Amy explained.

Both Ian and Amy eyed you as you sighed heavily.

"Mhm...yeah...I'm planning to go back there to continue my studies. I mean...it had been a while." you shrugged.

Ian and Amy nodded in understanding. "When are you leaving?" Ian asked.

"Welll....the reapplication process is already started...I'm just looking for a place to rent so probably in 2 weeks or so." you stated.

"I'm assuming you haven't told Souji." Ian stated. You sheepishly nodded.

"I don't know how to bring it up with him...considering that...he just broke up with Rin as well." you stated.

"He broke with Rin?" Amy asked. You nodded.

"I don't know the full story. Sou-chan doesn't want to tell me it seem. And I don't dare to ask Rin, cause you know...she's Rin." you commented.

"I think I have a clue or two." Ian teased. You eyed him with excitement.

"but no...I'm not telling you." Ian smirked. You huffed and Amy chuckled.

"I think I can tell what Ian is thinking too." Amy singsonged.

"Oh, c'mon. At least let me in. I'm Sou-chan's best friend and yet I can't help him before I leave." you sighed and begged them.

"You'll find out soon, I'm sure." Ian said. You huffed.

"But I'm leaving in 2 weeks. I want to be able to help Sou-chan." you sighed. Ian and Amy exchanged a knowing gaze before softening their gaze on you.

Amy hugged you by the shoulder. "I'm sure Souji-kun will open up to you. But for now, I think you should let him know about your departure. Think of how hurt he might be if you are no longer here alongside him."

Ian nodded. "Believe us, Name-chan. You're one of the most important people to Boy-yah."

You looked up at both of them and softly smiled. "I guess I'll try to find the right time to tell him. Thanks, Amy, Ian."

"Eat up you two. You must have been starving from the spare right?" your mom placed more food on Souji's and your plate.

"Arigato, Kaa-san!" you grinned. Souji also thanked your mother.

"Thanks for having us over tonight, [your mother last name]-san." Souji's father stated.

"Oh you don't have to thank me, Rippukan-san. You and Sou-chan been taking great care of Y/N-chan. It's only right for me to cook at least a meal to thank you two." your mom smiled back.

"itadakimasu"

"So Y/N, I heard from your mother that you're planning to return soon for your studies. When are you leaving?" Souji's father asked you. An unexpected question that also caused Souji to stare at you as well.

You gulped, not daring to glance at Souji. "In two weeks, uncle."

You could hear Souji dropping down his utensil. He wanted to say something but words weren't able to be spoken out.

"Excuse me, tou-san, auntie. I want to go outside for a bit." Souji stated and quickly left the table. You eyed him worriedly.

"I'll go check on him." you reassured Souji's dad and your mom. They merely nodded.

"They make a great pair don't they, Rippukan-san?" your mom asked.

"They sure do. I only hope Souji will speak up in due time." he heavily sighed and the two turned back to their dinner.

Souji was sitting in front of the porch, in silent.

"Sou-chan." you walked up to him. You can hear him sighed.

"When were you planning to tell me?" he asked in a lowered tone that send shivered to your back.

"I was hoping tonight after dinner. But I didn't expect Uncle to bring it up." you replied as you subconsciously hugged yourself.

"Why don't you just stay here?" Souji blurted out, turning to you. He then realized it was a selfish thing to say.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to say that aloud," he stated. You chuckled at his reaction.

"It's alright, Sou-chan. I understand." You smiled at him.

Souji's POV

If you do actually understand, would you have chosen to stay here instead? I stated in my head. But to ease her worry, I just smiled back. I proceeded to step towards her.

I can see her gaze at me with a confused expression. I pulled her into a tight hug.

"I'll miss you, N/N." I whispered in her ears. I can feel my shoulder getting a bit wet.

"I'll miss you too, Sou-chan."

During that moment, I wished I could have turned back time. If I had told her sooner and had been more open, would things have gone differently? But regardless, I want to support her decision. I know it's an opportunity she had given up previously, and I am happy to see her returning to pursue it.

I promised myself that even if it hurts, I cannot let my selfishness of wanting her by my side which may ruin her future.

Your POV

When he stepped forward, I was a bit confused. Then he pulled me into his arms and hugged me closely. It took me a while to hug him back. I couldn't help but be in the brim of tears. However, his statement caused tears to flow out.

I'm sorry, Sou-chan. I'm sorry.

"I'll miss you too, Sou-chan," I responded to his statement.

With the remaining two weeks left, I promised myself that I'd help Sou-chan feel better about his break-up and maybe help resolve it even. Even if it hurts to hide these feelings towards him, I cannot make things more complicated than they already are.

At that moment, at least what is engraved in both of their minds is that I'll be by your side no matter what happens.
