MYNA'S MUSINGS:
April Fool's Day is upon us, it marks the day when we can become a trickster and play pranks on those around us. April fools has an extensive history dating back hundreds of years. The first written acknowledgement of and April fools prank appears in Geoffery Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (1392), when he wrote of the cock Chauntecleer being tricked by a fox. Many other great authors have written about the subject of April fools.
Here are some of the most famous April fools pranks or hoaxes, in 1992 it was announced in a "surprise move" Richard Nixon was running for president again, 1989 a "UFO" landed outside of London. Then there is what is considered the most famous hoaxes, in 1957 the BBC news show Panorama reported on the bumper crop of Swiss spaghetti, it included pictures of Swiss peasants picking spaghetti off of trees.
So let's write some poems about April Fools Day!
Poetry Prompts:
Prompt #1 – Write a poem about having a prank played on you or vice-versa.
Prompt#2 – Research famous April fools pranks or hoaxes and do a poem that retells the story of one of these epic pranks.
DOWN AT THE SALOON:
As always there is plenty happening down in Busted Gulch! The town was recently compared to a wild west version of Peyton Place, (if that tells you anything!) So think about stopping by and see what is happening in this not so sleepy western town.

I believe that is it for this week. I hope all of you have a safe and productive week as well as a fun and relaxing weekend. Keep your pencils sharpened and your paper handy, you never know where or when inspiration will strike!!
As always stick around as long as you like, introduce yourself to someone new, remember the drinks are always on the house!
Cheers from your Mystres of Chatter
