Welcome to another week here at the Pub! I hope you all have had a fun and productive week.  Here at the Pub we are getting ready to end this month's contest, celebrate our 2nd anniversary and much, much more.

All of our new sister sites will be having their GRAND OPENINGS on May 1st!!!  Please do not hesitate to stop by and check out the contests we will be holding as well as the collections that will be open for submissions. We would like to also encourage all of our members to spread the word and let your followers know about our new sites!!

Second Anniversary:

The month of May will mark the Poets Pub's 2nd anniversary and we will have a special collection for all of you to send in your thoughts, memories, well wishes, or anything else you would like to say about the Pub.  Of course, if you want to put it in a poem you are welcome to do so but it is not necessary for this one collection.  The Second Anniversary Collection will be open for submissions on May 1st and will be open all month long.  We want to hear what the Pub means to you, what you like best about it and your fondest memories.

Our poem-a-day collection is still going strong!! We are having new members join almost every week!!  Please remember that everyone is welcome to send in submissions for this collection even if you are not participating in the challenge.

We really want this to become more like a family; please do not hesitate to send any personal announcements in that you would like to share with us.  If you do not want to share your exact birth date with us just let us know what month it is in so we can celebrate with you.  If you have passed your finals let us know so we can give you a virtual high five, if you are going through a hard time and just need everyone to keep you in their thoughts let us know as well.  We want the Pub to be your home away from home.

OLD BUSINESS:

April Contest:

You have until April 30th to get your four (4) poems in.  This month you all will be deciding our winner so we will need you all to send us a list, by Private Message of your top 3 to 5 favorite poems.  The sooner you get your choices in the sooner we will know the winner.  Remember the winner will be automatically entered in the Pubber of the Year contest, they will be interviewed for the Pubber Interview collection and they will receive a beautiful certificate that they can display.

NEW BUSINESS:

As I mentioned earlier we are preparing for our May contest and it will be held in conjunction with the Writers for Peace group.  The theme for May will of course be Peace and all of the details will be posted on May 1st so be on the lookout for them.

Also, please do not forget that we will be celebrating the 2nd Anniversary this month and we want every Pub member to participate!!

MYNA'S MUSINGS:

Here in America May 14th is Mother's Day.  A special day set aside to tell our moms how much they mean to us.  This week our prompts are going to be all about mom.

PROMPTS:

Prompt #1 – Is there something you have always wanted to say to your mom but just never gotten around to telling here?  Well here is your chance, write a poem telling your mother something that you feel you need to say or have never told her before.

Prompt #2 – Write a poem about your mother or to your mother but do not use the words, mom, mother, mamma, ma.

You only have a few days left to get your story in for the April Fools writing challenge. 

It is an April Fools writing challenge.  Stories must be between 500 – 2000 words long and you have until April 30th to get your submissions in.  To find out all about it head over to the Saloon.
