Hello Pubbers!!

Welcome to another week here at the Pub!  I hope everyone is having a productive week!  We have some more very exciting news to report here, so gather around and let's get started.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Poets Pub India:

As most of you know that Poets Pub India has been live now for a few weeks, however we would like all of you to know about the GRAND OPENING that will be taking place on MAY 1, 2017!!  Please let all of your followers know and have them stop by and check out all the new content as well as the contests we will have in store.

Teen-Age:

Teen-Age

Poets Pub is now associated with Teen-Age, a Poets Pub style group specifically tailored to 13 to 19 year old Wattpadders.  We have many younger followers here at the Pub and Bill felt they deserved to have a place of their own, to share and congregate with people of the same age demographic.  Again, let any of your younger followers know that there is a new place just for them. We will be having a May 1st grand opening with Teen-Age as well.

Writers for Peace:

Drum roll please.... We now have another sister site Writers for Peace.  With the way things are going in the world we wanted to have a place to bring writers from all countries together and give them a singular voice.  A safe place to speak out against the injustice of the world.  This site will feature poetry as well as short stories and we already have Spanish, English, French and Indian collections.  Please stop by and follow us and consider submitting your work. 

We will also be doing cross-over contests with each of these sites.  However in May, we will be posting the May contest poems to the Writers for Peace site as well and will feature the winner on the Writers for Peace site in addition to the Pub.

Poem-A-Day:

Poem-A-Day collection has just about caught up to where we need to be. For any of our new members who want to take on the challenge, just add the hashtag #PPpoem-a-day to the book you are using and don't forget to let us know by PM that you have joined in. Then just send us a poem a week to add to our collection here.  A reminder that everyone is welcome to add a poem/poems to this collection, even if you have not taken on this challenge.

Personal Announcements:

We really want this to become more like a family; please do not hesitate to send any personal announcements in that you would like to share with us.  If you do not want to share your exact birth date with us just let us know what month it is in so we can celebrate with you.  If you have passed your finals let us know so we can give you a virtual high five, if you are going through a hard time and just need everyone to keep you in their thoughts let us know as well.  We want the Pub to be your home away from home.

Finally remember to send us any personal announcements you would like me to include in the Chatter, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc.  Just message me here at the Pub and I will be sure to get it in the Chatter.

OLD BUSINESS:

April Contest:

April's contest will be coming to a close soon.  You have until April 30th to get your four (4) poems in.  This month you all will be deciding our winner so we will need you all to send us a list, by Private Message of your top 3 to 5 favorite poems.  The sooner you get your choices in the sooner we will know the winner.  Remember the winner will be automatically entered in the Pubber of the Year contest, they will be interviewed for the Pubber Interview collection and they will receive a beautiful certificate that they can display.

Team Member Needed:

We are still looking for a graphics designer to help here at the Pub to design our cover art.  If you are interested or know anyone that might be interested please don't hesitate to send us a PM and let us know.

NEW BUSINESS:

May Contest:

As I mentioned earlier we are preparing for our May contest and it will be held in conjunction with the Writers for Peace group.  The theme for May will of course be Peace and all of the details will be posted on May 1st so be on the lookout for them.

May Anniversary:

May will also be the 2 Year Anniversary of the Poets Pub. We are planning a 2nd Anniversary Collection, so be on the look out for that, we want all of you to contribute to this special collection. We also invite you to send in Anniversary Greetings, by PM and we will be posting those as well.

MYNA'S MUSINGS:

This week I have started on a new journey and it has gotten me thinking about how we deceive ourselves.  We tell ourselves lies and what we want to hear.  We make excuses for the bad choices we make in our lives.  So our prompts for this week are going to center on introspection.

Prompts:

Prompt #1 - Write a poem to your younger self, what would you say, what wisdom would you impart to the young you?

Prompt #2 – Write a poem to your older self.  What do you hope to achieve, where do you hope to be?

New Challenge:

The storytellers-saloon is also hosting another writing contest this month.

It is an April Fools writing challenge.  Stories must be between 500 – 2000 words long and you have until April 30th to get your submissions in.  To find out all about it head over to the Saloon.
