About To Depart (RoyalistWriter)
Pub Chatter 4th Edition - July 8. 2018 - Prompt #1 - Write a poem using only one and two syllable words.
About To Depart
Blue air, leaf green field and a dark shade,
The hues I saw, slowly fade.
Leaving me in a haze,
Hearing a whimper, I shift my gaze.
I see a woman, crying for me,
Sitting by my bed, crying for me.
( I fainted once again... )
Against death, none can complain.
I look down and see my sorry state,
I sigh and accept my fate.
If death comes then let it be,
But I ask God to hear a plea.
My mothers plea, for I can't bear to see her cry,
To end her tears, I shall gayly lie.
Mom, I'm feeling great...
I'll be better in no time, just you wait.
