July 16, 2017 Chatter Prompt #1 - Write a poem/song that would be recited or sung around the campfire when camping.

Campfire Song

Twigs are burning

Sparks are churning . . . we sing along

Marshmallows toasting

Wieners roasting . . . our voices strong

Staying up late is one of the features

and we're not scared of woodland creatures

We'll just sing our campfire song

Sounds of laughter

giggling after . . . we're having fun

Camping stories

ghouls and gories . . . scare everyone

Nervous but we want that fright

of ghosts and goblins in the night

So we'll be brave and sing our song

With blankets huddled

we all cuddled . . . daylight's shed

Food's all eaten

fire's beaten . . . it's time for bed

Tomorrow night we'll start again

build a fire, roast food and then . . .

Loudly sing our camp-fire song
