Have Lemons, Make Lemonade

Poor lemon,

It's true you aren't for everyone.

Some pucker and squint,

Stick out their tongues.

Some only like a slice of your fruit

To flavor and garnish their drinks.

Some just simply say, "No thanks!"

But to me my dear lemony love,

Nothing beats a glass filled full

Of cool lemonade.

You're a sweet retreat soothing ails

On a hot sunny day,

Waking senses with your tangy taste,

You get us through the summer days.

Though at times you may be bitter,

You're a wonder with a little sugar.

Every year the kids stand

To spread your cheerful flavor.

Have no fear my dear lemon,

You are truly loved!
