Least Favorite Food (chickenteeth)
Pub Chatter: UNBOUND - September 17, 2017 - Prompt #3 - Write a poem about your least favorite food.
Least Favorite Food
Filet of eel, or moccasin, are tasty celebrations.
Lamb fries never disappoint, fried up in rage'n cagun.
Delectable is the pickled foot from last year's porcine slay'n.
Piquancy thrills the will'n tongue, from legs off swamp amphibian.
Gooey okra makes me shiver with anticipation.
And great big slabs of bloody liver don't give me indigestion.
I spread crackers with the green stuff, inside fresh caught lobster.
And scoop out jellied marrow onto hardbread for a snack, Sir!
I like the lumps in Cream of Wheat and gravy laced with gizzard.
A crust of bread and boiled gristle both go well with lizard.
From tasty feet of long dead hen, to possum on the fire...
I eat most food with gusto great... to haggis, I aspire!
But there is one dish I deplore ...
A food I have not mastered.
It's a dish I always make for one - a recipe most contentious .
I take a dash of obdurate, then add a pinch of
pretentious .
Dump in the "fixit" for all your woes...
Whisk in all-you-need-to-know! ...
I make a noxious mess of it...
My meal of well earned crow.
