Ode to Candy Corn

Golden kernel, heart of orange, sports a nub of pure white.

Tiny bud! You whimsy-whelm me!

Sweet lux! You're why I measure bites.

Tiny triangle of Halloween,

Your appetizer is the white root's nub -

Snipped off, twixt tooth and tongue's sharp tip.

For the entree, heart meat soothes me,

Tiny joy, you're the pip!

Then sweet dessert - your golden kernel.

My loyal devotion remains eternal.
