Fine Dining

The assignment was nothing major. Hell, if anything, Yiri was a bit disappointed; a single wizard that anyone could've dealt with, even Rahool. A few days of nothing had passed since then, so Yiri thought he'd take his leave in the city for next few weeks.

Winter was in full swing that night, so Yiri was quick to take shelter in a nearby pub. Shaking the snow from their short, raven hair, they ventured in and found a spot in a corner to relax. He pulled out a tablet, flicking through several pages of nothing, messages from friends, images that most would consider compromising, et cetera, when a familiar, yet unexpected voice sounded from behind them.

"You would be wise to check over your shoulder before viewing such things, Yiri."

"Eep!" Yiri jumped in his seat and quickly closed the tablet before looking back to address to woman directly. "H-hi Eris! Wait...what are you doing here?"

"Heeding your advice." For once, Eris wasn't girded up in her usual, heavy, samurai-like cuirass or anything like that. Instead, she was dressed quite nicely, or at least Yiri thought so. Her cat-eared headpiece was gone in favor of a smoothed, black veil and white cloth across her face, eyes glowing underneath and the slightest black painted on her already grey lips. Her body was covered in long, dark robes, gloves, and simple boots though they did have rather noticeable heels. She was covered enough for the season, appearing almost nun-like, but without the bulk of her armor, Yiri could see that Eris actually had quite the nice figure. The lightless guardian sat next to Yiri rather than across from him. Odd, but maybe she was just new to pubs, Yiri thought.

"I have not seen you on The Moon recently. The Stranger also informed me you haven't been near Europa lately. So, I gathered you must have been in the City." Eris started, placing her orb on the table.

Yiri was a bit curious why Eris would go so far as to contact Elsie about him, but he shrugged it off for now. "I just thought I'd go ahead and take my leave for a bit. I didn't see a need to go off to either."

Eris did not seem pleased with the answer but continued on. "I told Zavala of my whereabouts. I'll be down here... 'living a little' for a while."

Yiri's pale lips curled into a happy grin, eyes lighting up more than usual. "That's great! Where were you heading off to?"

"Actually..."

"Hm?"

"I...was not sure. Now that I found you, however, I was hoping to see what you had in mind."

The metaphorical light in Yiri's eyes seemed to brighten even more, earning a slightly embarrassed glance from Eris.

"First things first.." Eris lifted her chin. "This is not a...date."

"Too late, already is!" Yiri had already jumped up from his seat, and Eris barely had time to reacquire her orb before her hand was taken. Yiri pulled her out of the pub and into the snowy streets to explore..

The first stop was of Eris's choosing. It was a rather nice restaurant though the prices were through the roof. Yiri, of course, paid.

"Wasn't aware you were one for fancy places like this."

"Or burning wallets." Yiri's ghost, Oni, spoke up.

"Shut up." Yiri waved her away quickly.

"When you've eaten primarily rations for the past few months, you take advantage when given the option for better tastes." Eris explained while setting her rock in the middle of table.

"Mm, that's fair." Yiri sat back. Given the robes and such, Eris was more dressed for such fine dining whereas Yiri still had his street clothes on. It was still a nice little, effete outfit with a cropped, denim jacket, long sleeved, hooded shirt, leggings, miniskirt, and boots, but he thought he could've done better if this was the locale.

A while later, the waitress arrived with their meal, pasta and red wine. It was simple but the pair seemed to love it. Eris didn't take long to clean her plate, and Yiri downed his wine in a few gulps. But, while they were busy scarfing down the delightful food and drinks, they did have time to actually talk to each other.

"A few days ago," Eris began, casually swirling whatever wine was left in her glass. "You said you planned on settling down. You also said you did not know with whom were you going to do so with...don't have your eye on anyone?"

He leaned forward a bit, elbow on the table and cheek resting against his knuckles. His gold eyes met Eris's for a moment to watch her reaction. "There is..one woman."

Eris took a moment, but jolted ever so slightly in her seat at the revelation, deathly pale skin gaining the slightest red tint. "Eh-I see...does she have a name?"

Yiri smiled devilishly, so unused to seeing Eris flustered. "We'll just call her 'Em' for now."

'Em...' Eris thought. 'E.M. ...he could not be any less subtle if he tried...amusing.' It was her turn to roll her eyes, all three of them.

"How long have you had your eye on this 'Em?'" Maybe it was her curiosity, more fitting if a warlock than the hunter she formerly was; but, she was growing intrigued, albeit slowly, that someone had any interest in her outside of fighting back the Hive. For the longest time, Eris wouldn't even entertain the idea of pursuing a relationship, not even casual flings-Drifter hinted at wanting to shag a few times, which she promptly denied. But, with everything going on: the Pyramids, Stasis, the Moon, the reports of wrath borne, she began to think that maybe a distraction would be most welcome.

"Hard to pin down exactly...but I'd say for quite a while now."

Eris's pronounced lips curled into a small smirk. "I see~"

Yiri returned the smirk, glad that they seemed to be on the same page as to Em's identity. "Any idea of where you wanna try next, Eris? I have an idea."

"What was it?"

"Ever tried the nightclubs around the city? When we're done with this 'fine dining' stuff I need to show you how to really have some fun."

"A...nightclub...?" Eris tilted her head after taking a sip of her own alcohol. There were both hints of curiosity and disgust in her voice.

"Mhm! With strobe lights, parties, drinks and so on. But, if you want something a bit more subtle-"

"No. I'm willing to try."

"Great!" Though, Yiri's grin faded when the waitress returned again with the check. "You owe me."

"I'll double your bounty rewards when we're done, Yiri." Eris chuckled, wiping her face before standing. "So, this nightclub?"
