Tagged Again...
Welp, guess what everyone? I just got tagged again, by the same person too. Different rules this time, though.
...
Rules:
1. Mention who tagged you
2. Do it in less than three days
3. Say 10 things about yourself
4. Tag 28 people
5. Tell a joke
6. Write a spoiler for one of your books
7. Put the rules in your tag
I'll put the rules into the comments like I did last time, so the lazy people here can copy paste it XD
...
Okay, lemme complete rule 1 first. Hey, 802TNTexplosion you can't punish me since I did the challenge! (Wait, is there even a punishment for this version...?)
...
Welp, here are 10 facts about me.
1. I play the violin and piano
2. I can create covers decently well
3. I dislike anything STEM related; I'm more of an art and English person
4. I can be very stubborn and ambitious. I went through a 4 year phase where I tried to convince myself that I liked math. It failed; I hate math more than ever now.
5. I have writer's block at the time of writing, and I think I've only written 1.5k words in two weeks (sorry readers, I promise I'll have chapter 15 up soon! I only have 1.1k words to go before it's completed)
6. I'm trying to decide whether I like the first tag challenge better or this one. On one hand, I need to write less facts (my mind literally blanked after writing the first fact) but on the other, I have to include spoilers. 802TNTexplosion, I wouldn't be surprised if you tagged me just for the spoiler XD (btw, she's one of my very few loyal readers if y'all didn't know)
7. I should probably be doing homework right now, but against my better judgement I'm doing this.
8. I'm wondering whether this book will get to sit on a shelf and start gathering dust for the rest of eternity after this, or whether I'll get tagged again.
9. I live in America (yep, I'm not being very specific, aren't I? I could live in Canada, the US, Brazil, Mexico...)
10. Quarantine has been pretty relaxing so far (this is coming from an introvert, though)
...
Okay, now onto the joke! Just give me a few seconds to search one up...
"Upon finding a clearly plagiarized paper, I called the student into my office. Pointing to my computer screen, I said, 'I found your entire paper online. Do you have anything you want to say about that?' Her angry response: 'Well, I paid my sister to write it, but I didn't think she'd plagiarize!'"
I dunno if I can be sued for copying a joke from the internet, so to be on the safe side, I'll put the link to the joke here.
...
Ok, I really don't want to give away too much, because I can't think of any spoilers to my book that aren't big. Soo... here's an excerpt from chapter 15:
As Katrina exited her cabin after she woke up, she found Ted standing outside with two swords in his hands. As Ted silently held up one of them, Katrina nodded, understanding his motive.
"Hey, Ted and I are going to practice sword fighting again," Katrina yelled to the others. "We'll be back soon!"
When Celia nodded her approval, she and Ted started trekking through the woods. As soon as they were out of eyesight, Katrina reached for her neck and grasped the pendant.
She slowly dropped it onto the ground, making sure not to rustle any leaves. She caught Ted's eye and motioned for him to follow her.
The two quickly and silently walked away, Ted glancing back once every couple of seconds to where Katrina had hidden the pendant. When she decided that they were far enough away, she stopped.
"Unless you have some secret admirer in the Experiment that I'm unaware of," Ted started, "that pendant is new. Where did you get it?"
"It's a listening device," Katrina replied. She told him everything that had happened over the last two days. With each word, Ted's brows furrowed even more, unable to believe the predicament that Katrina had gotten herself into.
"What about the rest of us?" Ted asked. "Will we get hired, too?"
Katrina paused, unsure. "I don't know," she admitted. "I guess I can ask tonight."
Ted nodded. "Please do, but be careful."
"C'mon, we should head back." The two slowly went back to the others, Katrina picking up the pendant on her way back.
Throughout the day, Katrina found Ted trying to get the others alone, presumably to warn them of what Katrina had told him, but to no avail. Each time, Celia managed to drag Ted away, making Katrina fidget nervously as she fiddled with her pendant.
As night came, Katrina got ready to head back to the blackberry bushes. Ted gave her a small, worried glance before disappearing into his cabin.
Katrina glanced towards the bushes, where Celia had gone, claiming that she needed to have her "midnight stroll." With one last look at the camp, Katrina followed Celia's footsteps.
"Stop."
Katrina's head jerked up at the voice. She glanced around, wondering whether someone had followed her. However, when the voice spoke again, her heart nearly stopped.
"Bring Ted with you."
