❝ Now is not the time to be zoning out. ❞

Request

Hi, Can I request where the reader is Ransoms little sister and she eavesdropped on him and Harlan during their argument on Harlans birthday and she knows about him switching the medications. and detective blanc is trying to get her to tell him te truth about what Ransom did

Author's Note

Although you asked for the interrogation to be between Blanc and the reader, I decided to add Ransom to the scene to add a little more tension, I hope you enjoy!

{ requested by: StingEucliffesWaifu }

The tension was high and everybody in the room reeked with guilt, but not as much as you. Not that you were the one who commuted the crime, but you had convinced yourself that because you knew who did it, that was the same thing. You still couldn't process the fact that it was your own brother, your flesh and blood.

You admit, out of everyone here he was the biggest asshole. You knew he was insane, but you never imagined he go through with something this impactful. You could feel the eyes of everyone burning through you as you peacefully sat there on the couch, fiddling with your fingers.

"She's quiet," whispered walt to his wife beside him. "I can guarantee she knows something. The way she's playing with her fingers is also a dead give away."

Walt was about to call out your name, but Benoit's voice had beat him to it. You turn your head, seeing the detective's finger motioning you to come to him. You gulp dryly and stand up from the couch. A shiver goes straight down your spine as you felt the eyes of your extended family follow you out of the room.

Benoit crossed his arms and walked by your side as he led you into the other room, no words to be said. The silence was what made the situation even worse. Your heart drops to your knees as you notice that your brother was sat in the center of the room, with both Benoit's partners on each side of him.

"Oh, it's about damn time!" ransom exclaimed, sitting up in his seat. "[Y/N] come and tell this lunatic that I didn't kill our father!"

That statement echoed through your head as Ransom's ocean blue eyes pierced into yours. "I didn't kill our father." Those five words felt like a punch to the stomach. You knew that Ransom killed him, and he wasn't going to come clean? How could he live with something like this on his conscious?

"Aren't you gonna take a seat darlin'?" the detective asked, directing his eyes at the empty seat placed across from your brother. "There's a wide open seat right across from your brother over there."

Ransom rolled his eyes and removed himself out of the seat and approached you. Your muscles tensed up as he grabbed your hands, they were cold, just like his stare.

"What the hell is wrong with you [Y/N]?" ransom whispered quietly, leaning in closely. "Now is not the time to be zoning out."

"I can sense that you know somethin' [Y/N]," benoit accused, also walking up to you. He stood behind you as Ransom stood in front of you, his hands still grasped onto yours. "I trust that you'll do what is right, you know, the opposite of what your brother is doin' at this very moment."

"I-I heard your argument that you had with daddy that night," you blurt out, fully grabbing Benoit's attention. "I know that you switched the medications Ransom."

Ransom's hands tightened and you instantly pull away before he completely crushed them. You could see that he was trying to refrain from lashing out at you. The anger in his eyes sent chills through your entire body. Benoit snapped at his partners to immediately write down what you had said. Ransom threw his hands in the air with a frustrated groan.

"I can't believe my own damn sister is against me!" ransom called out, violently staring at you. "I don't even know where he keeps his medications anyways."

Benoit was glaring at Ransom, looking as if he was analyzing something through his mind. Your story added up, it was the only story that made sense out of all the stories he has been told today. Ransom's reaction to your truth also was noticed by Benoit. He was hiding something, and it looked like she had exposed him.

Benoit jotted down a few more notes on his notepad, as well as his other two partners. Ransom placed his hands on his hips and looked at everyone.

"This is bullshit!" ransom shouted, shaking his head. "You all can't be seriously getting something out of that!"

"Oh, but Mr. Drysdale, we did," benoit blanc commented, writing his final word on the piece of paper. "and you have your sister to thank."
