Ah yes the cancerous ship I have a burning passion against so much. This ship is purely cancer to me and I can never see it happening except for ReaperTale which I respect in that au cause it helps the story greatly (no spoilers) Let's get into our topics of why I don't like, ship, or even consider this ship ok. The fandom isn't entirely cancerous.

Reason 1. It isn't written to even happen as this:
Based on my time in the Undertale and Undertale fandom I've seen people shipping Soriel. In the game itself Sans always and I mean always until he actually meets Toriel as "old lady". Yes they made jokes and got along even with a door in the way but they didn't seem to have that kind of interest in each other. Toriel had technically divorced Asgore why would she go to someone else who she barely even knew besides his name and good puns and some stories I believe? I shall move onto reason 2.

Reason 2 It's wrong in many ways: Listen it's bascially shipping a goat mom with a lazy skeleton. I don't hate the characters. I never hated the characters themselves! The characters are pretty well shaped. They aren't entirely overpowered nor give off the boring aura to me. Sans may have 1hp but it's balanced out with his powers to me. Sure he seems overpowered in the game but he's actually predictable. You can see how's he predictable if you watch his movements very carefully. Toriel is a very well balanced character. She's the motherly one and uses kindness instead of fighting most of the time unless for a good reason. Even my friends can agree with me irl. I am not saying any names.

Reason 3 it's very unrelated to anything that happens in any story except ReaperTale:
My reasoning for this is because Soriel has never appeared in Undertale they talked and made puns only as friends. Toriel clearly seemed to not want to be in a relationship with anyone nor was she looking for a lover.

Reason 4 Toriel has already gone through some hard stuff:
She already lost two of her children originally then lost the other human children and left Asgore as a result. She is left heartbroken and runs away as another result to escape the pain of everything. She lives in the ruins trying to raise the humans but they all leave later dying from Asgore which he only did for his people.

Reason 5 Asgore x Toriel is the only mentioned ship to ever happen in Undertale besides Alphys and Undyne:
Everyone originally says Asgore is a bad guy when in reality he isn't even close to one. He had to kill the humans or else him and the other monsters would remain trapped forever and just like the stories Asriel absorbed Chara's soul so he could take Chara to see the buttercup flowers of their village. The humans attacked Asriel thinking he killed Chara but sadly Asriel refused to fight back and walked home weakly tired, hurt, and emotional hurt. He turns to dust and the rest everyone knows. I believe Asgore should be given another chance with Toriel. Asgore never wanted to hurt or kill humans without a reason he's a very kind and gentle king. Even Undyne said that.

This is my five reasons for hating Soriel. Disagree? Don't care then.
