I just find it funny how Africans Americans are expected to forget about racism and pretend that it didn't affect them as a whole when stuff like this constantly rises to surface. After Emmett Till's horrible death, it is a slap to the face that decades later, black teenage boys are still being murdered without justice in America. Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, etc to name a few.

BACKSTORY: Emmett Till was a black fourteen year old boy in the 1950s. He was visiting family in Mississippi when he followed some boys to go to a grocery store and buy candy. The store was owned by a white couple Roy and Carolyn Bryant. On that day, only Carolyn was in the store.

It's still unclear what happened in the store that day because there are a lot of allegations but barely any facts but Carolyn claimed that he said "How about a date baby? What's the matter baby, can't you take it? You needn't be afraid of me baby. I've been with white women before."

Emmett's cousin and another anonymous witness said that they had been in the store minutes after Till walked in and they didn't see any encounter.

Carolyn also alleged that while she was going to her car to retrieve her gun (to scare the boys away) that Emmett whistled at her.

When her husband returned and heard her story, he ordered for Emmett to be seized and put into a pickup truck and throughout the course of the night he beat, tortured and murdered the fourteen year old with a bullet through his head. Then they threw his body into a river with his body weighted by a fan blade which was tied around his neck.

Later on, in an interview, they said: "When a nigger gets close to mentioning sex with a white woman, he's tired o' livin."

Three days later, his swollen and mutilated body was found. Of course, his murderers got away with it because Carolyn's testimony was so strong and as a white woman in 1955, she had that advantage.

BUT HERES WHAT REALLY GOT TO ME AND HURT

62 whole years later, Carolyn admits that she lied during her testimony and that it was all fake. She took away the life of an innocent 14 year old boy, watched a black mother's tears as she buried her son, then as a final blow she testifies against Emmett so that his murderers could go free without jail time.

She is the legit definition of a white demon like how tf are you going to live with that kind of secret for SIX decades. She deserves to be locked up, I don't care about how old she is. If she could live up till 83 then she must be strong enough to go to jail.

Honestly, the truth hurts more than anything. Emmett Till deserved justice and he didn't get that, he wasn't even a man yet, he was a boy. The only way that we can even try to give back half of that justice is by trying to protect the black boys in America who are constantly being villainized.
