BONUS CHAPTER
DYLAN
FUCK, FUCK, FUCKIDY, FUCK!
What the fuck did I get myself into?
I paced across the living room with my phone held to my ear, the continuous dial tone that I heard only infuriated me, and when Macy's voiced streamed through the speaker in the form of her voice mail I just felt like throwing the dumb device across the room. She was late, so late and I couldn't help but think that she forgot all about today.
The apartment door opened and in came Macy with Baby B following closely behind. I smiled as I took in the sight of the little girl. She hated it when I referred to her by that name around people these days, always reminding me that she was getting older and it sounded embarrassing. Rose was already more than half of Macy's height and she only turned eleven a few months ago. She was growing up way too fast and way too beautiful. That meant I'd have to deal with idiotic boys much sooner that I thought.
Macy darted straight to the kitchen, grabbing a vase, filling it with water before arranging the daisies she had bought inside it. Rose followed behind her with a bag of groceries, placing it onto the kitchen counter. Both of them worked as if I weren't even there, completely ignoring me. Quickly checking the time on my phone which indicated three in the afternoon, I made my way to the kitchen to help the duo.
"Where have you two been? I've been trying to call you," I directed my last statement to Macy who just stood there with a sheepish grin on her face.
"Oh, take a chill pill, would you. My parents are keeping Lacy really busy so she shouldn't be back until seven tonight." She said, dismissing the topic with a wave of her hand, "Rose will be staying with Sean and Dean tonight, is that right?" Her eyes shifted to Rose who gave her an eye roll. Those two still hadn't warmed up to one another and it had already been two years.
"I'd prefer it if Sean slept outside. He's super annoying," Rose groaned, exaggerating the word super for added effect which made me chuckle.
Walking over to her, I placed a chaste kiss onto her forehead, "I wish you would say that about both those boys, or even better, about all boys. Why can't you just stay with Macy or something? You know I don't trust those two. They may be my future brother-in-law but my first priority is you."
"Big brother, you worry too much. You forget that I'm a year older, there's no way I would like either of those two idiots," Rose declared, the amount of conviction in her voice still didn't put me at ease. I wanted to protect her, after everything she had been through, I wanted to prevent her from experiencing any more pain.
"Those are my cousins you're talking about," Macy warned with narrowed eyes but that was the last thing that could have bothered me.
"Age is just a number. Lacy is older than me and we still fell in love."
"You sound corny," Macy snickered, jabbing my bicep with her index finger, "but you're right, age is just a number as long as the love is there. Love can make it through anything. Hell or high water. If it's true, and if you believe, it will survive." A faint smile tugged at her lips as she stared down at the massive rock on her ring finger. Lacy and I had played our part in helping her fiance pop the question and now it was her turn to return the favor.
"Both of you remind me of lovesick puppies," Rose mumbled as she began typing furiously on that damn phone of hers. Lacy had originally been against the phone whereas I thought it would be good for her but somehow the tables turned and I just wanted to grab that phone from her to read every single chat.
Lacy always said that Rose would be in her fifties by the time I allowed her to start dating.
There was a knock at the door. Rose looked up from her phone, giving me a smile before skipping toward her bedroom. She came back with a purple backpack on her back and her phone still in her hands, "That's the driver Lacy's mom sent to pick me up. I'll see you tomorrow, good luck tonight." Her thin arms wrapped around my torso, giving me a hug.
"Behave and don't do anything I would," I instructed, returning her hug before sending her off. I trusted her to not get into trouble. After all, how much trouble could an eleven-year-old get into?
"So, what are we cooking?" Macy asked, standing next to me with her hands planted on her hips.
I learned in the past two years of knowing her that she cooked quite well. Much better than my girlfriend who almost burnt the entire apartment building down just by trying to make toast. I never expected someone to ever be that bad at cooking until I met her. It was actually quite funny to watch and it was a trait I wouldn't change. I would never change a single thing about her because I loved her the way I met her. Yes, she changed with the times but essentially, she kept her feisty enigmatic personality.
"I'm not entirely sure yet. I want to keep it simple so I won't mess it the fuck up because I have enough stress to fucking deal with as it is," I admitted, permitting myself to use the profanity I kept in whenever Rose was around.
"Have you figured out how you're going to pop the question?" Macy quizzed further and I was already tired of the twenty questions she seemed to be eager on asking.
"Are you here to help me or dig my fucking brain?" I snapped, running a hand through my freshly cut hair. It was long at the top and cut on the sides all around, just the way Lacy liked it.
"Okay, okay." Her brows rose and so did her hands in mock surrender, "No need to bite my head off just because you're the one shitting your pants thinking about how you're going to pull this off. All I'm saying is since she doesn't drink, you can't put it in her champagne glass and if you put it in the dessert she might choke and die before you make her your wife so think carefully."
I glared at Macy giving her a dry expression, "Thanks for the helpful advise."
"You're welcome, always here to help."

I sat at the dining table patiently waiting for Lacy's arrival. Macy had gotten me to wear a white button-down shirt with black slacks but I refused to wear the loafers she had brought along, opting for a pair of black vans instead. The sleeves of my button-down were rolled up to my elbows and the top buttons of my shirt open so that I didn't need a tie.
My patience was beginning to run thin since Macy left about an hour ago and my girlfriend still hadn't shown up. Macy helped decorate the apartment. She bought rose petals that she used to make a trail on the floor from the doorway to the dining table. Fairy lights hung everywhere, the room lights off so that the soft glow of the fairy lights could bring a romantic and enchanting atmosphere. The daisies that Macy had bought were acting as a centerpiece although it wasn't exactly at the center of the table. We had organized one corner of the table so the setting could be more intimate. Lacy would sit at the head of the table whereas I would sit on her left-hand side, trying to stay close but still give her room.
There were two lit black candles that had a gold shimmer to it. The candles sent a floral fragrance around the room. Most of the shit decorating the place was Macy's doing. She knew how to create this mood better than I did. Her fiance was a damn lucky man to have her by his side.
I ran a hand through my hair for the hundredth time tonight. The moment the apartment door cracked open I was on my feet, making my way to greet the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She walked in wearing a blood-red dress that ended mid-thigh. The deep neckline left little to the imagination, stopping just above her navel with gold straps holding the dress onto her shoulders. Knowing Lacy, the dress probably had a low back as well, she loved showing off her delicious skin. The gold heels she wore made her long legs look so damn appealing. It honestly took everything in me to not forget the whole dinner plans and just head straight to the bedroom.
I watched her intently as his eyes took in everything. They lit up with excitement when they landed on me. She had grown her hair out over the last two years, it wasn't that short, shoulder-length hair anymore but I still loved how silky, soft, and thick it was. It was now pin-straight, to her waist. Tossing her hair over her shoulder, she allowed her eyes to trail over me, the lust forming in them startlingly familiar but she held it back.
"You look..." She breathed, licking her lips as her gaze lingered on my biceps which looked like it would tear through the seams of my shirt, "You and this place look amazing." I knew deep down different words wanted to leave her full lips but I let it slide.
"Well," I began, a suggestive smirk forming on my face, "you look extremely fuckable tonight."
At my words, a slight blush colored her cheeks. After so long, you'd think she would get used to my mouth but it still had that same effect on her, leaving her flustered. I enjoyed that though. I enjoyed knowing that we felt things we would never get used to. We would constantly feel that unexplainable attraction.
"Macy pestered me into wearing something nice so..." She smiled and my breath hitched. Looking at how radiant the smile on her face was, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to make her my wife. My forever lied with her, without her, I found no point in wanting to live.
"I hope you're hungry," I confidently said, pulling out her chair as she walked toward me. Pecking her lips, I allowed us to stay in that position longer than necessary before allowing her to take her seat.
"Starving actually. They refused to feed me, I wanted to run away and come back home but each time I tried making a run for it they caught me." She complained and I couldn't help the laugh that escaped my lips.
"Trying to escape your cop uncle must have been so difficult," I taunted.
She shot me a glare, "Don't patronize me, Dylan." When her lips split into a devious grin my hair stood on end, "Now, Dylan, where's my food?"
I gave her a dry look, "I know we agreed to call me by my name especially around people but don't push it, baby, I'm still your Lucifer." Flicking her nose with my index finger, I decided to leave the room to bring out our food.
Macy had helped me prepare the first thing I had ever made for Lacy. It was the day she found out I could cook and she stared at me with utter awe in her eyes. I could never forget that day even if I tried. We were in Malik's loft, she spent the night there while I was 'house-sitting' and she told me she couldn't cook. The dish I had made was a simple vegetable soup with noodles.
Bringing two bowls out and placing it onto the dining table, I watched as her eyes lit up in realization of the meal. She breathed it in, moaning at the scrumptious aroma filling the room, "You've only made this once for me, and the first time I cringed when I saw it."
"I know, but now you know it tastes good so that's what matters."
"Do you consider this date quality food then?" She looked at me with narrowed eyes and I felt my heart rate increase. Somehow, all the happiness that was on her face had faded and was now replaced with a scowl which honestly made me want to shit my pants.
"No...I just...well...I thought," I stammered, trying to form words that would actually make sense while her dark eyes held mine.
She snickered. She actually snickered before taking a spoon to taste the soup, "Relax would you. This tastes just as good as I remember it." Cupping my face with her right hand, she traced her thumb on the stumble coating my cheek, "This is all perfect. You really went all out."
"I'd do anything for the love of my life," I muttered quickly before sitting down and beginning to eat my own food.
As dinner progressed, Lacy did most of the talking, as always. I was never one to talk about things and that still hadn't changed. It made me a pretty attentive boyfriend though, giving Lacy the chance to talk and release everything that bothered her. However, tonight I wasn't paying much attention. There was something else distracting me, plaguing my mind.
This night had to perfect!
I hummed every now and then to make it seem as if I was listening to her. My thoughts kept playing and replaying different ways I could initiate what I wanted to do. Pressing down on the left pocket of my slacks, I let out a breath of relief knowing that the ring was still there because losing it would be out of the question.
Macy helped with ring size, but the design was picked by me. The band had tiny diamonds around it with a good size diamond cut for the center. The center diamond had been shaped into a heart and in the middle of the heart laid a ruby. It was a simple but beautiful design. Engraved inside the band was, 'Your Lucifer's heart'. As corny or cheesy as it may have sounded it was symbolic to me, to us.
"Hey, are you even listening to me?" Lacy quizzed, snapping her fingers in front of my face to wake me up from my reverie, "You seem stressed. What's wrong?" Concern laced her tone and my heart swelled at that.
I clenched the glass of water that I picked up in my hand, chugging the entire contents of the glass in an attempt to wash my nerves away. There was a thin layer of sweat coating my forehead from how anxious I felt. Never in my life had I felt this way before. It felt like someone turned my stomach upside down and inside out.
Placing the glass back onto the table, I watched as she got up from her seat, smoothing her dress out before placing herself gently onto my lap. She allowed my right palm to rest on her ass while my left stroked the smooth skin of her bare thigh. Her arms were around my shoulders, fingers delving into my hair.
"What are you doing?" My voice sounded deeper than I anticipated as my eyes held hers.
"Trying to calm you down. I don't know what's got you so stressed but I have an idea on how to calm you down," the eroticism she exude was something I craved to always have in my life. Her red stained lips then captured mines in a slow, passionate kiss and that was all it took to calm me down and still rile me up.
Every single time she touched me or kissed me, every time we made love, there was this electrifying feeling that flowed through us. You could actually feel the shock waves ripple off us and it was the best feeling in the world. Her tongue wormed its way into my mouth, tasting as decadent as it always did. We worked together, our tongues perfectly synchronized, massaging and caressing each other. She softly grazed my bottom lips with her teeth and began to slightly tug at the roots of my hair. Whenever she did that it drove me insane. I loved it so damn much.
Before I knew it, she had shifted, her legs now either side of me as she straddled my lap. The moan that escaped her swollen lips as my length met her core caused my dick to throb. I stood up, carrying her to an empty spot on the dining room table. Once seated on the table, I began a trail of wet kisses down the corner of her lips, tracing her jaw, working my way to the crook of her neck.
My hands were quick, sliding the straps of her dress down her shoulders to pool at her waist, leaving those perky nipples of hers visible to me. Her hands drifted down south, tugging the button-down shirt I wore out of my dress slacks. The moment her cold palms came in contact with my warm skin I stilled. Realization hit me and I stepped back completely.
Fucking can come after I've asked her my question.
She looked at me with hurt eyes, sort of how she did on our first date when she practically fucked my fingers inside my car, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I reassured with a smile, "Just put that dress on and sit your sexy butt back into that chair." Running a hand down my face, I whispered, "Please."
Her gaze was trained in the protruding bulge between my legs that looked like it was about to spring through the pants. I readjusted my pants and dignified myself again, making my way to my seat. Lacy slid off the table, adjusting her dress so it sat properly on her before taking her own seat. The twinkle of excitement in her eyes dying down.
"Hey, look at me," I cooed, holding her chin between my thumb and forefinger. When her eyes held mine and I knew for certain that she could see the number of emotions portrayed on my face, I murmured, "I love you."
She inhaled deeply, "I love you too."
Chuckling nervously, I scratched the side of my head as I said, "Good because that makes what I'm about to do a whole lot easier." Slowly pulling the ring box out of my pocket, I got down on one knee. Lacy's eyes were already glazing over with tears as she stared down at me. Her hands cupping her nose and mouth in disbelief.
Was it really that unbelievable? I think not.
Opening the box, I revealed the ring to her and watched a tear roll down her face, followed by a multitude, "Lacy Black, from the moment I met you I knew that you were special. Well, if I'm being perfectly honest, I was just so highly sexually attracted to you. But then you started spending a lot more time around me and proved that you cared. The deal breaker was how much Rose loved you. I just knew you were the one for me. Anyone who could put other's needs in front of their own was worth my time. I know I already wake up seeing your face every morning so I can't be a corny piece of shit and say that but I can say that I want your face to be the first face I see for the rest of my life. I want to grow with you. I want you to be the mother of my future children which I never thought of having until you came into my life. I want isn't even the right words to use. It's more like I need it. I need to grow old with you because no one else will love me the way you do and no one else will love you the way I do." My voice sounded thick and I didn't want to be a little pussy and cry but fuck, I felt so emotional, "I guess what I'm trying to ask is, will you marry me?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes! A thousand yeses!" She cried, jumping up from her seat and showing me her left hand. I slid the ring onto her finger and thanks to Macy it was a perfect fit. She analyzed it for a minute before saying, "You didn't have to get me such a fancy ring you know."
Rising to my feet, I chortled at her pouty expression, "I know but if you read the engraving inside the band I don't think you would mind."
She hastily pulled the ring off her finger and read the words. Another round of tears began streaming down her face as she put the ring back on and captured my lips with hers, "Did I mention that I love you?"
I smiled against her lips, the saltiness of her tears lingering on my tongue, "I think you did but you can tell me that again if you like." Grabbing her by her ass and hoisting her up, I furthered, "And now, we can fuck!"
Don't hate me for not adding the smut!!! Just really wasn't in the mood to write it... Hope you enjoyed this bonus chapter either way!
