Ending: I will, always will
A real happiness
Kelly swallowed, her heart pounding as Scarlet's intensity pinned her in place. "That's the deal," she whispered, trying to sound nonchalant but failing miserably as her voice wavered.
Scarlet's smirk deepened as she brought her lips close to Kelly's ear, her voice a soft, tantalizing murmur. "I've already said it, princess. Maybe not in numbers, but I've been yours for a long time."
Kelly blinked, her breath hitching as Scarlet pulled back just enough to look her in the eye. "Scar," she began, her voice faltering under the weight of Scarlet's gaze.
But Scarlet wasn't about to let her off the hook so easily. "Your turn," she said, her tone firm but playful. "Three words, eight letters. Say it."
Kelly's cheeks flushed, her chest tightening as she tried to muster the courage. For all her teasing and wit, Scarlet had a way of making her feel utterly vulnerable in moments like this. She opened her mouth, hesitated, then finally let the words tumble out, quiet but certain.
"I love you."
Scarlet's expression softened immediately, her teasing demeanor giving way to something deeper, something raw and genuine. She leaned down, her forehead resting gently against Kelly's. "Took you long enough," she whispered, her lips brushing against Kelly's in a kiss that was as much an answer as it was a celebration.
Kelly smiled against Scarlet's lips, her arms winding around her neck. "Don't get cocky, Scar."
Scarlet chuckled softly, her hands slipping to Kelly's waist as she held her close. "Too late," she murmured. "You're mine now. Three words, eight letters—and I'm never letting go."
Scarlet moved with a fluid, almost effortless motion, her arms wrapping securely around Kelly as she gently but swiftly shifted her to sit on top of her. The movement was so smooth and natural that Kelly barely had time to react before she found herself straddling Scarlet, her breath catching at the sudden closeness.
"Scar!" Kelly's voice came out half a protest, half a laugh, her cheeks flushing a deeper shade of pink as she instinctively placed her hands on Scarlet's shoulders for balance. "What are you doing?"
Scarlet leaned back slightly, her hands resting lightly on Kelly's waist, her gaze filled with unguarded adoration. "Just giving my princess the throne she deserves," she teased, her lips curling into a soft smile. "Besides, I like this angle. It suits you."
Kelly rolled her eyes, though the corners of her lips betrayed her with a shy smile. "You're impossible," she muttered, shaking her head. But the way Scarlet was looking at her—like she was the most precious thing in the world—made her heart flutter.
Scarlet tilted her head, her fingers tracing idle patterns along Kelly's sides as she took in every detail of the girl in her lap. "You know," she began, her voice quieter now, "I could stay like this forever. Just holding you, looking at you... You're so beautiful, Kel."
Kelly's blush deepened, and she lowered her gaze, unable to meet Scarlet's intense stare. "Stop saying things like that," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's embarrassing."
Scarlet chuckled softly, reaching up to tuck a strand of Kelly's golden hair behind her ear. "Can't help it. You make me lose control, remember?"
Kelly bit her lip, her hands tightening slightly on Scarlet's shoulders. "You're such a handful, Scar," she said, her tone affectionate despite her words. "I don't know what I'm going to do with you."
Scarlet grinned, her fingers brushing lightly along Kelly's jaw. "Guess you'll just have to keep me around and find out."
Kelly finally looked up, her hazel eyes meeting Scarlet's with a mixture of exasperation and undeniable affection. "You're so cheesy," she said, though the soft smile tugging at her lips betrayed her true feelings.
"Only for you," Scarlet replied, her voice low and sincere. And before Kelly could respond, Scarlet leaned up, pressing a gentle, lingering kiss to her forehead. "Only ever for you."

Second confession
Kelly stood on the rooftop of Scarlet's apartment, the city lights twinkling below like scattered stars. The air was crisp, the wind tugging gently at her golden hair as she pulled her jacket closer. Scarlet leaned against the railing beside her, her dark eyes staring at the skyline, deep in thought.
This rooftop held memories—of shared secrets, quiet confessions, and an unspoken bond that ran deeper than words. It was where they had once peeled back their masks and let each other see their true selves. Now, it was where Kelly would face the question that had been eating at her heart.
"Scar," Kelly said softly, her voice slightly tremble while she's still resting her head on Scarlet's shoulder.
Scarlet turned her head, her expression calm but curious.
"Do you ever wonder... if we can be like this forever?" Kelly asked, her eyes searching Scarlet's face. "I mean, now that we've come this far, I don't know how to imagine my life without you. But... sometimes I get scared. What if we're not... endgame? What if we lose this too?" Her voice cracked. "What if losing you means losing everything we've built?"
Scarlet's gaze softened, she turned fully to face Kelly, speaking low and steady. "Kel, I think about that all the time."
Kelly blinked, surprised by Scarlet's honesty.
"I know I come off like I don't care," Scarlet admitted, running a hand through her hair. "But losing you? That's my worst fear. It's not just the idea of us not being 'endgame.' It's what comes after. I don't think I could handle going back to being alone like before."
Kelly stepped closer, her chest tightening. "So... what do we do? How do we make sure we don't fall apart?"
Scarlet hesitated, the weight of Kelly's question settling between them. Then, she reached out, her fingers brushing against Kelly's. "I think we have to stop being afraid of the end. Whether we're 'endgame' or not... we have to live in the now. What we have right here, right now, is real. And it's worth everything."
Kelly's eyes shimmered with unshed tears. "But what if—"
Scarlet interrupted her with a faint smile. "If it ever gets to that point, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. But, Kel... I promise you, I'm not going anywhere unless you tell me to. Endgame or not, you're too important to me."
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The city's hum seemed far away, the rooftop a world of their own. Kelly finally let out a shaky breath, feeling a sense of comfort she hadn't felt in weeks.
"I just... I don't want to lose you," Kelly whispered.
"You won't," Scarlet said firmly. "No matter what happens, we'll always have this. Even if things change, this moment is ours. And no one can take it away."
Kelly light a small smile through her tears, her hand tightening around Scarlet's. They sat quietly for a short moment, but somehow, Kelly's voice was a bit more hesitant and softer now, as if she were testing the waters of a thought she hadn't fully dared to express until now. She shifted slightly, her gaze falling to their intertwined hands, her fingers gently tracing the lines of Scarlet's palm.
"You say you'll never let me go, but..." Kelly's words trailed off, uncertainty creeping in. "Are you ever worried about what the future's going to look like for us? I mean, we've already been through so much, but what if... we're not meant to stay like this forever?"
Scarlet stood still for a moment, her dark eyes distant, as though contemplating Kelly's words. The question hung in the air between them, heavy and loaded. She had never let herself think too much about the future, too afraid of what it might hold for them—especially after everything they had been through. But Kelly's vulnerability, the raw honesty in her voice, made her pause.
"Of course, I worry," Scarlet admitted quietly, her voice tinged with vulnerability she didn't often show. "But maybe worrying doesn't change anything. The future... it's not something we can control. We can only control what we do now."
Kelly met Scarlet's gaze, her heart aching with the weight of what they both carried. "But if we just keep living in the moment, what happens when those moments stop feeling enough? What happens when we have to face something we can't fix?"
Scarlet's hand gently cupped Kelly's face, her touch soft, yet firm, as if to reassure her that she was here, now, and always. "I don't know what the future holds, Kel," she murmured. "But I do know that no matter what happens, I'll fight for us. I'll always fight for you. Even if we're not always 'forever,' you'll always be a part of me."
Kelly closed her eyes for a moment, a tear slipping down her cheek, but this time, it wasn't out of fear. It was from a deep sense of relief. She could see it in Scarlet's eyes—the raw honesty, the depth of her commitment.
"Okay," Kelly whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "Okay, Scar. I'll trust you... even if the future's uncertain."
Scarlet gave her a soft smile, brushing away Kelly's tear with her thumb. "We don't need to know what comes next, Kel. All we need is to be here. Together. And that's enough for now."
They stood there for a while, the weight of their conversation became something comfortable—something real. No promises about forever. No certainty about tomorrow. But the understanding that whatever happened, they'd always find their way back to each other.
