.:Part 3:.
It was hard for them to believe that Liam has mysteriously disappeared after a day.
But again, it's the truth. Their brother was gone without a trail. The only thing left is his silver necklace-his own lucky charm-a symbol for keeping him safe from...
The vampires...
That's it! Gosh, how come he didn't think about that?
Quill suddenly got up from the bed and run to Will's room and wakes him up, he feels no hesitated to go find his youngest brother right away, so he told Will about his thoughts last night and he's sure that they should go right away before it's too late to go after their missing sibling.
"B-But how can we find him? W-Where should we start?" Will asked while he and Quill packing up some of the necessary things for their trip.
"We may not have any clue to find where 'they' live, but I'm pretty sure some of the villagers can help" Gently placing a hand on Will's shoulder, the green haired man reassured his brother, then suddenly, his head slightly bowed down and Will can see a sad gaze through his eyes, whenever Quill is sad, his emerald eyes turn into a dark shade of green "...Besides, we have to find him, I've made my words many years ago..." Then he put his bag on to his shoulder and go out to the door.
Will followed shortly after, making sure the door has been locked properly, the blue-haired boy put the keys into his bag and go after his elder brother as they take their walk to the same old path into the village, only this time, they come to the village with another reason different from any other normal days...
Quill has to stop by his little office to grab some of his stuff, as well as putting a small note on the door for everyone in the village to know that he will be absent for quite some days. After that, they proceed on asking the locals on how to find the place where the vampires live... but the results aren't as they expected...
A woman who's watering her plants outside the garden? She just shrugged
"I don't know where do they live, I don't even know if they're real, only heard about them through stories that my grandparents used to tell me."
A man who's selling vegetables? He just laughed
"For goodness sake, you two really believed they're real? Just grow up already, people just made 'em up for spooky stories and to scare the cowardly kids!"
An old lady sitting outside the door? Well, she probably just crazy...
"The vampires? Yes yes yes, they're real! They're all around us, waiting for the perfect time to suck up all our blood and kill us all! You idiots will never know when it'll happen, probably can be any minute now! Hahahahahaha" Then she suddenly fell asleep immediately...
God, she really needs a serious treatment... Quill thought.
* * *
"Ugh, this is hopeless... And I thought at least someone would know something... anything!" Quill whined, he feels completely useless, then he let out a tiring sigh "...Maybe we should just find them on our own, there's no one who can help us now..."
"B-But Quill, That'd be too risky and d-dangerous, we could get l-lost in the woods forever!"
"I know... is just, we can't just expect that some miracle could happen right now, can we?"
Then suddenly, they bumped into someone very familiar, who's happened to be sweeping all the dried leaves out of the doorway right in front of their eyes. Yep, it was the sweet old man Quill met yesterday at his little "clinic".
"Ah, we meet again, morning Quill, what brings you here?" he asked with a meekly smile on his face while holding the broom in his hand.
"Oh, good morning! And uh well, I know it could be stupid to ask but... do you happened to know where do the... vampires live?"
"The vampires? Hmm, I think I got something you need, please come inside the house and wait for a moment."
Quill feels surprised, finally, an answer he was seeking for this whole morning could be here? In this sweet old man's and his wife little cottage? Will just slightly smiled and whispered to Quill as they're both going in
"E-Expect the unexpected, brother."
"Please, make yourself comfortable, there's tea on the table and some biscuits. I'll be right back, this may take quite a while..." The old man said when they're inside the house and went to another room, trying to find something.
"Thank you but we're fine. Alright, just take your time!"
A little while later, the old man comes back, bringing some papers along with him
"I found it, glad that it didn't take quite long as I thought"
Then he spread out the papers on the table, it was a map! A quite detailed map, one with English descriptions and another with some sort of ancient language descriptions. The old man continued
"This is the map that leads us the right path to the castle of the vampires, this was from my great great great grandad who's surprised to be a vampire-hunter in the past... I never thought there'd be a day that I will take them out like this."
Quill beamed with excitement, finally, he can go find his brother without getting worried about getting lost in the forest...
"Thank you so much! With this map, finding their castle would be a piece of cake! This is better than what we expected"
"I'm glad I can help you two, at least now I can repay for everything you did for us. Here, take the one with English descriptions, it's easier to read. I don't know if anyone can understand the other map except for my great great great grandfather"
"That wouldn't be necessary, I'd like to take the other map with me, please. Thinking about what might happen on our trip, I don't want this map to fall into someone else's hands."
"Well, if that's what you want, be my guest. Wish you two the best of luck"
"Thank you very much again, please take a good care of yourself and your wife too."
The two brothers waved goodbye to the old man and proceed on their journey to find Liam deep in the forests.
