002

The rickety train suddenly came to a stop and Lillian quickly stood to her feet. Hermione also took a stand with the girl, as they both grabbed their trunks. As they walked off the platform of the train, Lillian noticed the taller red head looking at her smugly, with a grin on his face. "Don't try running into me again." The boy stated sarcastically which earned an eye roll from the brown haired girl.

Hermione, being the smart witch she is, recalled the rather playful conversation between the pair. "Fred Weasley, hm?" She stated smartly with a grin on her face. Lillian simply shrugged, "he's only being nice, don't even know the bloke." She simply dismissed the conversation, as they walked in a silence, toward the castle.

Just as Lillian was about to enter the castle, she was stopped by an older professor. "It's lovely to meet you Miss Lockhart, come right this way we'll get you sorted!" Mcgonagall exclaimed ushering the girl right up to her office. Since it was just herself getting sorted in her year, the older professor decided it would be better to do it in private. The girl places her trunk down in her professors office. Lillian's eyes wandered over the dusty office, her eyes falling on the high bookshelves that reached the ceiling.

Lillian was snapped out of her trance when she felt an old hat being placed on her head that had a peculiar smell, most likely from being placed on thousands of students. Just as Lillian was about to take off the hat, it started talking- which made her jump up in the slightest.

Hmm, difficult. VERY difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Not a bad mind, either. There's talent, oh yes. And a thirst to prove yourself. But where to put you?

GRYFFINDOR

Lillian felt a sense of relief wash over her. She knew her mother would be proud, and also her friends that she had made on the train. She looked down at her robes, watching slowly as they transformed into a beautiful red and yellow colour. Lillian had an ecstatic expression planted on her face. "great, you're free to go to dinner miss Lockhart." The sweet professor nodded at the young girl, and the girl quickly obliged. Taking her belongings and quickly making her way toward the great hall. Just outside the hall she left her trunk on a table, so filch could bring them up to her dorm, like he did with everyone else.

Lillian slowly opened the doors to the great hall, and she felt a silence wash over the room, as everyone's heads  turned toward her. "Great." She thought as she silently walked up the centre of the hall, trying her best to keep her head held high, she could feel the heat picking up on her cheeks, she wasn't used to being the centre of attention. Once she reached the middle of the gryffindor table, she quickly sat beside the familiar group of friends she made, inbetween Ron and hermione.

The group looked over the moon for the girl who got sorted into their house. "I was hoping you'd be sorted into Gryffindor, it'll be nice having you around Lily, is it okay if I call you Lily?" Hermione smiled sweetly and Lillian nodded happily. "Course you can, everyone calls me it really." The young girl shrugged assuringly.

Just as the group were bursting out into conversation, an older man with a long beard started talking.

Now that we are fed and watered, I must ask once more for your attention while I give out a few notices. Mr. Filch, the caretaker, has asked me to tell you that the list of objects forbidden inside the castle this year has been extended to include Screaming Yo-yos, Fanged Frisbees, and Ever-Bashing Boomerangs.

As ever, I would like to remind you that the Forest in the grounds is out of bounds to students,

It is also my painful duty to inform you that the inter-house Quidditch Cup will not take place this year, This is due to an event that will be starting in October and continuing though out the school year, taking up much of the teachers' time and energy but I am sure you will all enjoy it immensely. I have great pleasure in announcing that this year at Hogwarts-

Suddenly a deafening rumble took over the room from the sky of the great hall. Lillian and almost everyone in the room quickly covered their ears. Lillian was in shock, although she slowly watched an older man limp up the great hall, the man who stopped the thunder.

May I introduce our new Defence against the Dark Arts Teacher, Professor Moody. As I was saying, we are to have the honor of hosting a very exciting event over the coming months, an event which has not been held for over a century. It is my very great pleasure to inform you that the Triwizard Tournament will be taking place at Hogwarts this year.

Many students erupted into cheers, including the twin boys that Lillian had met previously. "You're joking !" Fred Weasley exclaimed as he almost jumped off his seat from excitement. Lillian stayed silent, the same with Hermione beside her. Lillian knew all about the dangers of this tournament, it was truly far from safe.

No I am not joking Mr. Weasley,

Fred Weasley turned the color of his hair, laughing it off with a smug grin, george laughing obnoxiously as he put his brother in a make believe headlock, rubbing his knuckles against his brothers head roughly. Lillian couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh at the boys playfulness. Fred looked up, across the table and caught eyes with Lillian, throwing her a soft smile as he swatted away his brother now.

Dumbledore ended his speech briefly, and just as he ended it, a swarm of beauxbaton girls danced flawlessly up the centre of the great hall, one girl she noticed in particular being Fleur Delacour, a Veela. Lillian watched as all the boys eyes followed the girls, intently. They truly were gorgeous, but they also had the power to appear more attractive. Luckily Lillian's close friends weren't there. She was happier this way, she was getting her fresh start that she needed. She left beauxbatons for a reason. "Godrick, I've never seen a women so tall in my life." Ron stammered as he watched the headmaster strut up the hall. Lillian giggled quietly at his remark, the woman truly was a tall one.

Lastly the great halls doors swung open, revealing the Dumstrang boys who stomped up the hall harshly , "Dumb krum ." Ron, Fred and George spoke in unison. Viktor Krum played for the Bulgarians- a seeker. Overall he didn't have a great reputation with the English. Many girls fawned over the Bulgarian boy, including the bushy haired girl beside Lillian. She let her eyes fall on the boy for a little too long, which Lillian seemed to notice. "Didn't think you'd be the type to fancy Viktor Krum." Hermione felt her cheeks up lightly and shook her head defensively. "I do not!" Ron looked at her, taken back a little at Lillian's comment. "Viktor Krum, really mione." Hermione dismissed the boy, shaking her head quickly.

Once everybody had settled down, dinner was finished, and Lillian got to her feet, deciding to find her dorm now, hermione accompanying her on the walk up to the gryffindor tower. "Why'd you move to Hogwarts?" The question made Lillian's heart falter. She wasn't ready for such a question, so she made up an excuse. "I don't know really, didn't like beauxbatons all that much." Lillian shrugged as she moved on from the topic, as they finally reached the tower. "Caput Daconis." Hermione whispered and Lillian followed the girl in slowly. Just as they walked in, the two redheads stood at the door, giving them a smile on the way in. Lillian let her eyes fall on one of the twins who she recognised to be Fred. She threw him a longer smile then the other brother, before she quickly walked up the steps to the girls dormitories. "You might aswell go talk to him if you're going to look at him for that long you know." Hermione giggled to herself quietly whilst she just earned an eye roll from Lillian.

Lillian opened the door to their dormitory and immediately smiled. The four posted beds with red curtains made the room look all the more comfortable. Lavender brown, and padma Patil sat at their beds. Lillian threw them a sweet wave as Hermione introduced her to the girls. "I'm Lillian, lovely to meet you girls." She smiled softly at the girls before she sat on her bed, taking in the beautiful but simple scenery around herself.
