IN ROOM SIX HUNDRED

1200 HOURS

LOCATION- ROOM SIX HUNDRED, GAYLORD ACADEMY, PLUTO

-

Room 600 began to fill up slowly till the point when 12 00 struck, in the room there was at least a tenth of all the students of year 3 and 4 of sectioni 1.

"Sapph," Michael's said as he walked toward me. I smiled and hugged him.

"How are you."

"Same old," he replied. I looked around the room.

"Do you know what this is for," I asked. He shook his head and the pointed to the front of the room.

"But I guess Storm will explain."

I raised an eyebrow as I followed his finger. Storm stood in her gaylord uniform, an authoritative smile on her face.

"Listen Up," she said. We were already listening.

"My name is Storm Stein Miller. I am a student in year eight. You all have been asked here today, to room 600, for a particular reason. As you entered the room, they asked you to require one by one. That is due to the portal at the door. Every Student of year 3 and 4 has touched the doors handle yet not all of you are here. We have filtered you."

'What the bloody thing is happening,' Ty asked. I shrugged and put my hand on his arm to calm him down.

"In this hall, there are 500 students, a very small portion of the students. Each student here has been found acceptable for the job we are going to present to you."

She did not speak for a long time after that. And her eyes grazed over every one of us.

"The invitation we are to give to you, requires sacrifice for the rest of your life. If you are unwilling to do that, you may leave right now. If you wish to remain, remember that you will bound to this promise by you lives."

Again, she paused.

Only a few students left the room.

"Any more," she asked. I felt Michael beside me, make a move to leave. Storm noticed as well.

"All royals, please remain in the room, regardless of whether you accept or not."

Michael stood rigid again. I took his hand and squeezed it.

"I am assuming now, that the rest of you wish to remain. This will be your last chance to leave."

No one left.

"Every two years, we select a few students from year 3 and 4. In this room as you may have noticed we have students of both sectioni I and II. The purpose of this selection is to be absolutely sure that the future of our planets will be safe," storm said, "You are the future of our planets, each of you will difference clearance and your clearance will be based on your planet."

'Clearance,' I hissed to Ty.

'I do not want to do this,' he responded.

"Can the heirs of the planet step forward," storm said. I looked to Ty, a horrified look on my face and then I stepped forward. Ty did the same.

"Full name and title," Storm asked.

"Princess Sapphire Zaiden West Cole, first heir to Neptune," I said, trying my utmost to ignore the stares and murmurs around me.

"Prince Tyler Maximillian Allen, First heir to Jupiter."

'This is messed up,' I said to him. His nod was almost imperceptible.

"Both of you have no choice in this matter and will have the highest clearance to all matters pertaining to you Planets."

"Yes, Ma'am," I said and saluted. For the first time in my life, I could act like a royal in public. It felt weird. Though I had only found out about my royalty last year, now it felt like it was something I was destined to be.

It had, weirdly enough, become a part of identity.

"That will do, sister," Storm said with a small smile. I nodded.

"The rest of you will find out your clearance level soon enough, remember that this position is not to be taken lightly. Your life will come into question many times and you must never hesitate. Our planets are filled with people who wish us harm. You must not tell friends or family of this position, if they are not here," Storm said, both her hands clasped in front of her, "Is that clear."

"Yes, Ma'am," I said immediately along with all the royals in the room. The response was then awkwardly followed by the rest of the room.

"In a few seconds, some of you will hear a whisper in your ear. The whisper will give you coordinates. Those who here the whisper, please relocate to the location as soon as possible. The rest of you may leave to your classes and will be contacted accordingly."

Like she said the whisper sounded in both Ty and my head. I looked to Eli and he nodded. Jaz walked next to us and nodded as well. I didn't need to look to Michael to know, that he had gotten it as well.

"I will leave," he said.

"What?" Eli asked.

"I don't want to man, I don't feel like doing this."

"Come there and you can tell storm."

He nodded.

"Should we all portal together or use our own portals," Jaz asked taking her illeminite cube out. We looked to Michael.

"Separately," he said. And that is what we all did, we left the room and in our own accord portalled to the location said.

I arrived the earliest and though the room was already full with students, I hovered near the back of the room. Eli entered with Jaz, both of them deep in conversation. Michael joined them a few seconds later. His eyes searched around him and I moved deeper into the crowd so he wouldn't see me.

His expression was grave, an unpredictable switch from his mood just a few seconds ago. I didn't move.

'What in the world are you doing at the back,' Ty asked. I sighed, knowing that he would understand the reason in a few seconds without me even talking.

'You are being stupid hiding around,' he muttered. I shrugged and he didn't pester my decision. Ty walked to the rest of the group and they started talking again.

'She wants to be alone for some time, I guess,' I heard Ty say to them. The door opened again and storm walked in. Everyone tensed and turned towards the front where storm was walking to.

"Welcome," she said, her eyes flickered to the four walls of the room. Both Ty and I, followed her gaze a prick of suspicion lacing through us. Jaz looked to Ty, her expression morphing into fear. Ty hadn't the time to ask Jaz what was wrong as storm spoke again.

"Your first lesson," she said as her hand fiddled on something in her blazer pocket.

I took a step forward, away from the back as the walls descended into the floor. We whirled around and a fearful silence followed in the room.

'Lamborns,' Ty hissed as shivers rose up our arms. The five of us froze, expecting the horrible feeling that followed after the presence of Lamborn's.

There was no feeling.

"These creatures are known as Lamborns," Storm said walking to the barred cages, the Lamborns were behind.

"Your highness," Michael ventured. Storm toward him.

"You needn't call me with that title," she said, waiting for his question. Michaels face contorted with pain as he tried to word his sentence.

"I do not wish to participate in this," he said, his eyes darting to the cages, "However, as I am a royal, there is no harm in this being part of my knowledge."

Storm paused for a moment and then nodded, "You may leave, your highness."

Michael nodded and saluted to her, he walked to the door and then paused, his mind reaching out to mine, 'I have something important to tell you, meet me later.'

The door shut behind him and we all turned back to storm.

"What does this thing do," a student asked. Storm began to explain. Ty's hand clasped Jaz's and Eli's face became like stone. My arms crossed themselves over my chest and I rubbed at my wrist.

"Heir," Storm's voice splashed in the air. Both I and Ty moved and looked at her.

"Heir of Neptune," she corrected, "You are not listening."

I nodded absently and turned away, purposefully not looking at the ghastly green silhouettes of the creatures.

"Please do not pester her," Jaz said. Storms light eyes turned to look at her.

"Why, she does not have the luxury of not participating in lessons."

"She does in this one," Jaz said, meeting my eyes. I shook my head but she ignored it.

"Until you give me a solid explanation, no," Strom said.

"Leave it," Eli said, his voice cut through the air. Storm did not say anything but she was slowly connecting the dots of the situation.

"Jasmine," A voice came from inside the cage. I almost flew from my place to stand beside Jaz. We looked wildly through the cage.

"You lied," the voice said.

"How," Jaz asked as she caught sight of the speaker.

"You do not remember me," the Lamborn said.

"How are you speaking to it, stop right now," Storm yelled walking to Jaz.

'Be quiet, it will only speak to her,' I yelled into Storm's mind. She looked back at me and biting her lip, remained quiet.

"I remember you," Jaz responded taking a quivering step forward.

"You lied," it said.

"About what," Jaz asked and she took another step forward, I followed her. Now she stood in front of the cage and I, right behind her.

"You said Queen Sharooka was in love with me."

"Is she not," Jaz said not missing a beat.

"You are our enemy, you fooled me."

"I am sorry, but I had to," Jaz said.

"Ari," a voice hissed behind the Lamborn we were talking too and a yellow Lamborn stepped out.

"Do not say anything," it said. Ari nodded and the yellow Lamborns eyes fell on me. It took a few steps back and hissed with an ear-wrenching cry.

"Elemental," it yelled and flew at me. My hand flew for my dagger but before I could do anything, Ty pushed me back.

The students behind us remained quiet as they watched the spectacle. The yellow Lamborn hissed a few other words under its breath and then disappeared into the crowd of Lamborns.

"How do they know you," Storm asked.

"The venatio," Eli said, "They were there at the venatio and we weren't protected by whatever thing you've put around the cages, we felt everything."

"That does not mean you cannot listen to me," Storm said calmly.

"What do you know," Eli asked, moving close to Storm, "Do you know how it feels, do you know the pain that comes from them, do you know the way they can wrap your mind and how your knee shakes with fear."

Storm did not respond.

"No, you do not," he said, "So when we say we are entitled to not listen, respect our wishes."

"Or our wishes," the yellow Lamborn said, appearing again. I cocked my head and looked to turn to Ty.

'Something's wrong,' Ty whispered. I nodded meeting Eli's gaze. He caught on and turned away to the cages.

"What are you doing," Storms said. None of us responded aloud.

'Take your receiver, call for help,' I whispered.

She heard the fear and her hand inched slowly to her receiver but not fast enough for a loud screech sounded in the air. I flew to Jaz and the four formed a square shape. Some of the students did similar things, weapons moved from their pockets into their hands, some cowered in the corner.

The screeching did not stop for a long time and the receiver in storms hand was ineffective.

"They have blocked your transmitter," I yelled to Storm.

"I figured," she said as a large portal swirled into life. The bars of the cage slowly descended into the earth and the feeling of horror shot out on us. I cringed, trying to shake the feeling off.

The Lamborn's at the forefront shot out and began jumping on the students around me. Screams filled the air and though I had practiced so much for these kinds of situation, I froze.

"Sapphire," Jaz screamed. My neck snapped in her direction and I looked back just in time to dodge the mouth of a Lamborn. Many of the Lamborn's already began disappearing into the portal.

"We have to stop it," Storm said.

"How," A girl with red hair screamed back as she hit another Lamborn. My grip on my dagger tightened and I flew to help her seeing her struggle.

"I don't know," Storm said. Eli cursed and Ty's arm began bleed, the blood soaking through his blazer.

"I have an idea," I said as I blocked the Lamborn with my hilt.

"Great, what is it."

'We need to close the portal right but first we have to reach it, remember the formation we learnt last class, use that. Prevent the Lamborn's from reaching the portal, leave the closing to me and my friends,' I said into the red head's and a couple of other students head. Her eyes met mine and she nodded.

'The portal, water,' Ty asked realising my plan.

'And lightening, it'll mess with the mechanism.'

'Us two, only or the rest.'

'Ask Jaz to keep us stable,' I replied. Ty edged closer to Jaz and spoke to her, telling her the plan.

'Black, protect us,' I said. Between the chaos, Eli's eyes met mine for a second and he nodded.

The red head had already prevented a couple of Lamborn's from entering the portals but it wouldn't last for long. The Lamborn to student fighting ratio was large.

I quickly assessed the room, a few students lay on the floor, their necks bleeding, a few hid at the back, cowering behind those who were fighting.

"Storm," Eli roared running towards the east of the room. I watched as a Lamborn bit into her shoulder, blood began to sprout and my hand unconsciously hurled the dagger for the Lamborn. It hit before Eli reached and the Lamborn fell. Blood seeped out of Storm's shoulder.

"Leave her, Black," I said, "we need to focus and close the portal."

"Hurry up," the red head yelled.

Eli ran back toward us as I grabbed Ty's hand. Standing next to the portal, I closed my eyes. Jaz closed the bridge between us and we formed a circle.

The element rose within me and it fused with Ty's element. They swirled together until it became one. My hand which was clasped with Ty's moved to touch the side of portal.

I blocked out the noise around me. Ty's element screeched as it bound with mine.

'On the count of three.' Ty said and he began counting down, as the last syllable left his mouth, we both released. The combined elements crashed down on the portal, sweeping into it. My clothes became damp and I felt the electricity sweep form Ty's body.

We did not open our eyes, using all of our concentration. A few moments went past and then a loud hiss sounded in our ears and we felt the portals close.

I opened my eyes.

The red-head was staring at me, her light brown eyes flashing. I shook my head and she looked away. The portal behind us had disappeared and the Lamborns like some magnet had attracted them their cells, they went back in.

"Do you know where the button to close these are," Jaz asked looking around the room, no one said anything.

"We need to get out," I said. Now that the danger had passed, the hollow feeling of the Lamborns had come back.

"Take her to Uranus," I said to Eli, looking at storm. He walked to her and scooped of her the floor and within a few seconds disappeared. I looked everyone.

"You feel that," Ty said to everyone in the room, "Never forget that."

No one said anything. There were still a few students lying on the floor, bleeding.

"I'll go to the clinic, and call them," Red head said. I nodded.

"Leave the room," I said. Jaz opened the door for them and the students hurried out. I wiped my eyes kneeling down in front of a wounded student.

She was alive.

"What are you doing," Jaz asked as she saw me close my eyes.

"Heal them," said calling my water. Jaz walked away from me and looked into the cells.

"Ari," she called. No one responded.

"He'll be back home on trial," a Lamborn said. Jaz posture straightened and she cocked her head.

"Why," she asked. None of the Lamborns responded and then a timid voice from the back spoke.

"I am here, Jasmine," Ari's voice whispered. Funnily enough, Jaz visibly relaxed and she turned back to me. The door opened and red-head girl walked out with a couple of soldiers and a man, I did not know.

"Your highness," He said and bowed. I cocked my head.

"Who are you," I asked.

"I am in charge of this section of students that we pick," he said, "I apologise for the situation, it was unexpected."

I bit my cheeks as he caught sight of Tyler and repeated the pleasantries.

"Leave it," Ty said speaking for me.

He nodded, "we will take care of them, you can leave."

I stared at him, trying to find honesty in his eyes. Ty took my arm and led me away.

"Leaveit," he whispered. I didn't want to but I agreed. There were too many things ofrecent that I was leaving without answers.
