Rejecting The Beta

Next morning, I woke up wrapped around Ethan's body.

This was the second time, I struggled to wiggle out from his loving grip, but failed. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to go but you know, nature's call...

"Ethan," I whispered, so that he can wake up a little and I would be free.

"Mhhmm..." I groaned, mentally.

"Ethan, I need to go to the bathroom," I exclaimed.

"Why?" He muttered sleepily and pulling me closer.

I rolled my eyes. Why would anyone go to the bathroom?

"I need to pee," I said embarassed but I had no choice. I was losing control.

"Ohh." And he dozed off to sleep.

"Ethan! Wake up!" I said slapping his face, gently, which made tingles erupt in my hand.

And most certainly, it happened the same with him as he opened those beautiful green eyes of him.

"First things first. My morning kiss," he winked at me.

"Oh Goddess." I exclaimed, putting my hands in air.

Here I was losing my mind and he's worried about the kiss.

"Or you're not going anywhere," he muttered.

And then he closed his eyes.

No. He can't sleep like this. I had to... I had to kiss him. But I didn't know how to.

"Ethan..." I trailed off, helplessly, indicating that I was not that bold to kiss him on my own. I was never the one to make a move first.

"Hmm?"

"I don't know you know," I gulped, "I mean I am-I.." I stuttered like a fool.

Ugh... He was really testing me now.

No reply.

You have to do this Jezebel, if you want to go to pee.

I took a deep breath.

He had his face towards me and his eyes closed. His hair were falling on his beautiful face and I neared it. I moved away his hair and then my nose touched his. He opened his eyes and I closed mine, and then, as if he lost all self control, he moved his face a bit and in a second his lips were on mine. He kissed slowly, but passionately. I kissed back and at that moment I forgot everything. It was just me and him. As we pulled away, he looked in my eyes and I gave him a smile.

"Goddess is so generous to give me you as my mate," he said lovingly, while moving a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"I should be saying that." Before he could argue, I gave him a kiss on his cheek and sped off to the bathroom before he could hold me back.

We headed down for breakfast. Together. Ethan had his arm around my waist and as we went to the dining room, we saw my family eating breakfast.

"Our love birds are here," Mary, my brother's mate exclaimed.

My mom and dad smiled warmly at us and we all sat at the dining table.

Then, something dawned upon me. Thea. Where was she? Did she leave?

"Where's Thea?" I asked, looking at everybody and everyone stopped eating.

"Umm...she left for our pack." Ethan said.

"Oh." I didn't know what to say. It was because of me Ace rejected her. I felt guilty.

Sensing my uneasiness, Ethan and Mary changed the topic. But, my mind stayed on only one thing, I was the reason, Ace and Thea were not together.

A sick feeling crept back in the pit of my stomach.

I put my head down on the table, suddenly as the dizzy feeling took over.

"Baby, what happened?" Ethan rubbed my back.

"I am not feeling good," I sobbed. I felt empty, hollow. Like I was the culprit in everything.

"Jez..." my mother felt worried.

Everybody was worried because of me. Everything was messed up because of me.

I slowly pulled my head up and looked at Ethan, his eyes anxious.

"I'll take you back to the room, baby." He said standing up.

I stood up too taking his hand in mine and he picked me up bridal style and took me to our room.

He set me down on the bed and I couldn't contain anymore. I burst out crying. I took ahold of his shirt and hugged him.

"I am n-not good," I cried in his shirt.

"Who said that baby?" He rubbed my back soothingly.

"I am the reason Ace and Thea are not together. I am sorry."

"Shhh... Everybody loves you baby. Don't think like that."

"No."

He pulled back and looked in my eyes, wiping my tears off.

"Ace is her mate. He wouldn't be able to stay away from her for long. Don't worry. Look, even you couldn't stay away from me." He grinned and my heart fluttered.

"I love you Ethan. I love you so much," I said and kissed him all over his face.

"I love you so much more, baby." He kissed me on my lips.

"Your tears taste good." He commented as we pulled away to breathe and I half-laughed, half-cried at his ability to ease the tension.

"Take me away, Ethan. With you." I said, hugging him.

"Jezebel," my name on his tongue had me shivering with pleasure, "are you sure you want to come to my pack? I cam wait."

"I have never been so sure in my life," I replied.

"I'll always keep you happy, I promise," he said.

"I know."

Ethan's pack was 15 hours away by car. So, we decided to start the following morning.

My family members hugged me goodbye and I could see tears in Mary's eyes, "Hope to see you soon Jezebel," she said.

I kissed her on the cheek.

Then my brother Weylyn, came and hugged me, "Take care of yourself, sis."

"I will."

Ethan opened the car's door for me and I sat inside.

"Ready?" He asked, excited.

"Yeah." I smiled.

But, still, I felt a bit nervous.

What if everyone don't like me? What if they don't accept me?

"Who cares? We're with our mate now!" My wolf Igraine popped up after so long.

"Hmm." I answered her.

"Hey! Aren't you excited?" She almost shrieked with excitement.

"Yeah, I am." I said, rather unsure.

But the truth was, I got the intution, that something wasn't right.
