Upon sending the address to your apartment to Suna, you didn't expect there to be a knock so quickly. Well, you weren't expecting to be hanging out with him at all. Not anytime soon anyway.

You answered the door to find the man standing there awkwardly. His lanky shoulders were caved forward, hoodie loosely clingy to his body. His hair was slightly messy, not unusual for his casual unkept appearance. Getting a better look at him from the last time you saw—stalked—him, he ultimately looked the same. Just more built, features sharper and defined, hair definitely shorter than high school.

"Hi," his lips turning into a small smile, "you ready to go?"

Nodding, you locked up your place before following the brunette down the stairs and out of the complex.

It was a nice night out. The crisp air prickled your skin while the wind laced through your hair. The convenience store was a quick walk from your apartment, near the cafe you found Suna at. Unfortunately the walk was filled with silence. Not an awkward one however, it felt like the familiar feeling of being the only two people in the world was slowly returning.

Suna stuck to his promise, paying for your things. The two of you had bought a couple snacks and bottled soda before finding yourselves sitting on a bench at the park near the university. The distance between you was casual, just like how any friends would. Sipping on your soda, you turned to look at the boy who was playing with his hands in his lap, staring at his feet that were kicking the ground. "Why did you ask me to come with you?"

Looking up from the floor, Suna shrugged, "I just thought it would be nice."

Quite frankly, he didn't know why he asked you. It's not like Atsumu or Osamu would've passed up the opportunity to go on a quick errand with him. You just happened to cross his mind. Maybe he was reminiscing about how the two of you used to always make stops to the convenience store late at night back in high school. Back when you were still together.

He didn't know if he missed you or the thought of you, but feeling your presence again made a pit grow in his stomach. A pit of nostalgia perhaps.

"Are we ever going to talk about what happened to us 3 years ago?" you asked hesitantly. It definitely wasn't the best way to continue the conversation, but what else could you say? For years your head spiraled with questions you never got to ask, things you wanted to know, feelings that you finally found the words for. It was a constant battle between feeling okay and missing him with every bone in your body. You didn't know why you couldn't let go of him after all this time.

"I don't know." Suna wasn't an outspoken person, he kept to himself, didn't let his emotions lead him. He too had so many things he wanted to say to you, but every time you asked for a conversation (while still in contact), it felt like his brain deleted his words from his mind and he was stuck in silence. But when the distractions wore off and he laid in bed alone, the thought of what could've been if he hadn't ended things haunted him.

You let out a sigh of disappointment. Was 3 years really not enough to have the courtesy of a conversation? You weren't going to rush him though, time was short yet you would rather keep things running smoothly than engage in something you didn't know what the outcome would be. "Were you upset when I said I was over you?"

"No. We're just friends after all, right?"

Friends. A word you absolutely despised when it came down to Suna. Though it was your white lie about missing him as a friend was the whole reason you were in this situation in the first place. Even though you were friends before you got together, it was hard to end off as friends with someone you shared the most significant memories with.

"Yeah, friends."
