12. Shadow of the Sparrow
Round and round the sparrow flies
Wings flutter from his chest
Chirping cries of fear, demise
An eye upon his nest
Below, on land, a burrow-worm
Around the soil, dry
From the air, he'll watch them squirm
Of those who dare defy
Became of him, a clotted rage
When this sight he did abhor
For two such birds did rock the cage
While humming words of war
Clenching claws of sharpened nails
Upon their tongues, revenge
Of the flock, to watch them flail
Wicked kingdom's descent
Kingpin's every clashing dream
Shall die without a sound
A righteous right to be redeemed
Feathers upon the ground
The innocent all swooped away
On northeast winds, they soar
Rise from the flames of the crusade
For future tales of lore
Wrathful fowl and crashing beaks
A death call from the skies
Songs of vengeance, they shall speak
One empire's demise
The caws will echo, sky to sea
From every belly's roar
Every blackbird shall foresee, that
Sparrow shall fly no more
