Epilogue: Long-term Haunting

Sigrun, who was initially drawn to the game because it was a long-awaited sequel to MAA, quickly gave up on the game when its lack of competitive scene became apparent.

Manolia and Yortson both end up falling prey to their addiction to RCG, resorting to selling off their accounts as a first step towards rehab.

Artabeles keeps honoring his ancestors by playing this game, even though his new position as QA analyst makes him more vulnerable to gaming addiction.

RCG proves to be a hit among the players who wanted the multiplayer aspect of life simulation games, especially in LGBTQIA+ circles, and Adèle is a beloved figure among the RCG community.

Gordon winds up attending the online, part-time MS in addiction counseling at Tulane, focusing on gaming addiction.

Marjo ultimately becomes the AR manager, who ended up taking away credit terms to a lot of customers with any kind of overdue bills, at least until they are paid in full. However, those who are extended credit, have it with due consideration of their industries' AR/AP practices. And, of course, keeps playing and streaming RCG.

Sidenotes: it seems like the fame system depends on how many people know the player in-game, and actions taken to increase it often require a high level of skill and/or exposure, but its decay is tied to the time the player isn't playing the game, rather than the passage of in-game time.

As for the choice of schooling, it appears that, in RCG, private school gives players an advantage in progressing through stages of careers where they are called upon to interact with the wealthy and powerful regularly, but are at a disadvantage when working with the poor; the reverse is true of regular public school.

But the long-term benefits (and drawbacks) of magnet schools might appear SES-agnostic. Also, an academic magnet provides benefits to its graduates in intellect-intensive careers to a greater extent than a private school will.

So in a sense, the benefits of private schools are mostly back-loaded, if the player can get there in the first place.
