Sidenotes: it seems like the fame system depends on how many people know the player in-game, and actions taken to increase it often require a high level of skill and/or exposure, but its decay is tied to the time the player isn't playing the game, rather than the passage of in-game time.

As for the choice of schooling, it appears that, in RCG, private school gives players an advantage in progressing through stages of careers where they are called upon to interact with the wealthy and powerful regularly, but are at a disadvantage when working with the poor; the reverse is true of regular public school.

But the long-term benefits (and drawbacks) of magnet schools might appear SES-agnostic. Also, an academic magnet provides benefits to its graduates in intellect-intensive careers to a greater extent than a private school will.

So in a sense, the benefits of private schools are mostly back-loaded, if the player can get there in the first place.
