Dabi is Touya: 15

"Why are you packing stuff up Touya?" Shouto asked his brother, who was shoving photographs into a shoebox.

Touya turned to the younger child, "None of your business, kiddo."

Shouto watched as Touya shoved the shoebox under a loose floorboard, like a stereotypical teenage boy trying to hide something. Though Touya was a teenager, he was anything but stereotypical.

"Touya, what is training like?" Shouto asked, hanging upside down off the bed, the blood rushing to his little head.

"Bad. You don't want to have to deal with Father when he's like that." His voice got quiet as he whispered, "You're lucky I'm doing it for you." The last part was obviously not for Shouto to hear, but he did.

"What do you mean 'bad?'" Shouta wondered, swinging his head side to side.

Touya stood up, the loose floorboard completely hidden, "It's not fun, Shouto. Stop asking questions."

Shouto flipped himself up, so he was the right side up. His brother started shoving his jewellery into a small baggie. "What are you doing, Touya?"

"Shouto, I don't think I'm coming back from this training session."

Shouto was confused, Touya always came back. "What do you mean?"

"I can't tell you unless you promise you won't tell Father." Touya shoved the small bag of personal jewellery into his shoe.

"I promise, Touya." Shouto stuck out his pinky finger to make a true promise.

Touya ignored the extended joint. "I said something rash, I don't think Father is going to let me come home tonight."

Shouto remembered how his brother was acting that night, and when he didn't come home Shouto didn't tell anyone. Shouto didn't tell anyone at Touya's funeral. Even when he saw Touya with a villain group on the TV, he didn't say anything. Because Shouto did not break promises.

So this was based off a couple of prompts in my writing class, they were, "...if you promise you won't tell." and "...because I do not hope to return."

Let me know if you guys like this, a lot of people in my writing group said it was very moving, but they don't really know the full context. Seriously, let me know what you think. I crave gratification!!!
