Christmas Eve was coming and Harry was helping his parents decorate the beautiful tree in the living room. He had never been allowed to help before, because his aunt was never happy with the way he did it. His mother had been infuriated with her sister when she heard this, but there wasn't much she could do.
"Look, this used to be your favourite angel when you were little," Lily showed him a little angel wearing a red dress and golden wings. Harry smiled, not remembering it, but he was able to imagine himself loving the figure.

The next day, it was finally Christmas Eve and Harry had bought his parents gifts in Hogsmeade the weekend before they left school. He was happy to be able to visit the village freely after his parents came back.
James and Lily had tried to look though some old belongings for a gift for their son, which was hard since everything in the manor was old and dusty. They ended up using Polyjuice Potion to go to Diagon Alley to buy gifts.
They had also invited Remus, since he would have spend his Christmas alone and James couldn't even think about leaving his brother alone for the holidays.
"Harry, come on! You have to be ready in 5 minutes, because Remus will be here then," Lily called trough the hallway.
"Mom! Stop stressing, I'm just packing up the last gift! I'm almost done!" Harry screamed back.
The bell rang. Lily gave her son a look as he ran out of his room to open the door for his fathers friend.
"Hello, Harry. How has your break been so far?" Remus asked as Harry let him through the front door.
"It's been great, Uncle Remus. I helped mom and dad decorate the tree and mom and I decorated my new room," Harry said, full excitement.
Lily watched her son and her husbands best friend talk for a little while, before walking over and hugging Remus and wishing him a Merry Christmas.
James, who had been in the kitchen preparing dinner, came running in to greet his friend and left immediately, calling an excuse over his shoulder.
Lily chuckled. "He's preparing dinner and he constantly watches the oven to make sure the chicken doesn't burn."
"He knows he could use magic to do it, right?" Remus asked.
"I don't think he realises," Harry said.
"Me neither. Come on, let's go to the dining room. Dinner should be ready soon.

James ended up making a delicious dinner for the four of them. He had been stressed, but everything turned out alright. He knew the stress came from cooking the chicken the muggle way instead of using magic, but the meat was always better with an oven. Lily mentioned this later in the evening, but he had shrugged it off.
After dinner, they went to the lounge, where the Christmas tree stood with the gifts underneath.
"Who will be going first?" Lily asked. They would be playing a game to decide when who got to open which present. James had a dice in his hand. When someone would get a six, they could grab a gift, not necessarily bought by themselves, and give it to the person it was addressed to.
"Harry, you can go first." James threw the dice to his son. He catched it perfectly, due to his seeker abilities. He didn't have any luck with throwing a six, though.
A couple of rounds had to be played before Lily was lucky. She picked a gift for Harry. It was a huge box with a red and gold wrapping paper. On top, in a messy handwriting, similar to his own, was his name written. He looked to his dad.
"Is this from you?"
James smiled and gestured him to open the box. Harry carefully opened the paper and the box. Inside was a beautiful broomstick: the Firebolt. He had dreamed of having one ever since he saw it in Diagon Alley. His face lighted up and he looked up to his father.
"Dad... THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Harry ran to his dad and hugged him.
"No problem, Harry," James responded.
They went on playing their game. In the end, Harry had gotten the Firebolt from his dad (and someone else, as his Father has told him). His mom gave him a couple of books on all sorts of things: Quidditch, Animagus (where she had put a little note in saying "Maybe something to work on") and some other interesting things. Remus has given him a lot of candy and Chocolate. Mrs Weasley had sent him a bunch of homemade treats and the traditional Weasley sweater. He would exchange gifts with Ron and Hermione after their break.
The next day, on Christmas day, Harry and his dad played Quidditch, while Lily and Remus watched and talked about all kind of things. A black dog watched them from the bushes, not wanting to attract any attention, but smiling (as much as a dog could smile) for his godson.
