11. Gates of Hell

Present

Barry's idea was better than I had thought.

Whenever Barry says he has an idea, my mind instantly imagines a million wrong possibilities. Furthermore, with this issue that we had at the moment, I was skeptical to believe that he actually came up with a good one other than a way to switch our bodies back. He didn't have the answer to that question, but he did have the answer to how I was going to get through this case hearing.

The issue in the first place was this: I was stupid when it came to police work. Sure, I've spent most of my life running from the cops, but I knew close to none about what they actually did or let alone the terminology that they used. Barry was a forensic scientist, which made things ten times worse. Barry told me that he usually testified in court his findings and what he thought about the evidence.

Of course, I wasn't the one who really examined the evidence, making this impossible for me to bullshit my way out of. None of this would be that big of an issue if there was a form of communication Barry and I could have as I sat up in front of everyone, but there wasn't. At least, not until Barry remembered what we had used to communicate last year when we went back in time.

Cisco had installed a little button in the bottom of Barry's shoe so that he could tap with his toe to communicate through a com in my ear, using morse code. It worked back then after Eobard had kidnapped Barry, so how could it not work now?

So after running off to S.T.A.R. Labs to install the nice little device into Barry's shoe and to get the com to put into my ear, we went to the courthouse. It was strange walking into the building, since I was walking inside without my own face. Random people tried talking to me, but all I could do was smile, wave, and move on. I didn't realize Barry knew this many people.

When Barry and I finally arrived, we were running late...as you would have guessed. The moment I stepped inside of the room, a woman was ushering me to go forwards, causing my heart to race. Well, Barry's heart, I suppose. Before I make my way up to the stand however, I pretty much chug an entire bottle of water out of nerves...Barry's mouth never produced enough saliva it seemed.

I couldn't help but notice how clumsy I was as I made my way up to the stand, feeling the palms of my hands sweat uncontrollably. When I take my seat, I find my eyes drift away from the woman that lead me up here. It was then I looked over to see who the meta was that I was testifying against, and it interested me to see that it was the same meta that I had fought that night just before Hunter took me away to CCPD.

He looks over at me then, raising his eyebrow in a strange fashion. I knew that he didn't know me (well, Barry I suppose) so I wasn't worried about him recognizing Barry or I, but the look he gave me only made me wonder. I remembered him, that was for damn sure.

"Mr. Allen," the judge says to me then as I straighten up, crossing my legs. Before she can continue, I'm quickly uncrossing my legs, realizing then that I wasn't a girl and that I couldn't exactly cross my legs with...you get the point. "Raise your right hand, please. Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"

I nod my head, licking my lips slowly. "I do."

"You may proceed," he says to the woman then as she starts to pace, looking upwards at me.

"You are a forensic scientist at CCPD, correct?" she asks me, taking me off guard for a split moment.

I nod my head. "Yes, I am."

"Good. Now, Mr. Allen, can you tell me what you see here?" she points towards a board, showing me images that I didn't even come close to understanding. I feel my forehead start to sweat before I hear taps in my ear, causing me to look out into the crowd to see my face staring back at me, nodding at me to speak.

I gulp, listening closely to the taps in my ear. "Uh yes, these images show the traces of dark matter on what appears to be multiple bodies."

"Correct," the woman states as she paces once again. "What else does it happen to have traces of?"

I glance back over at the board before speaking once again. "Traces of green matter, ma'm."

"Green dark matter?" she asks as I nod, glancing back over at Barry. "Sounds a little too familiar, don't you think?"

I sit in silence as the woman holds up a photo, one that was taken the night of the meta-pocolypse. It was a photo of a green glowing man...one that looked exactly like the man sitting a few feet away from me. It was pretty obvious that they had the right guy; I wasn't quite sure why they needed Barry to testify.

The judge gives a side glare to the man, who was still sitting there with an odd smug look on his face. It looked as if he knew that he was guilty and didn't care if he showed it. It made me wonder if he had something up his sleeve, but I tried not to focus too much on that, since I was still sitting in front of a crowd of people inside of Barry's body...I'll never get used to saying that.

"There are traces of this green matter on how many bodies again, Mr. Allen?" the woman asks once again, lowering the picture to look at me.

I wait for a few taps in my ear. "Three of them. Travis Hathaway was a cop found deceased outside of CCPD trying to protect a woman from this man. The two others were Elizabeth and Martin Gray, husband and wife of two years. They were killed by the same green source located just outside of Jitters..."

I fade off then as my voice goes dead, something twisting in the pit of my stomach. I had been there that night; I was right outside of Jitters when this green man was there, and I failed to save at least two lives. Knowing this made hatred set in my heart as I look over at the man, his eyes burning a hole into my skull.

The woman notices my trailing off, but she doesn't comment. "As you can tell your honor, there are many sources of evidence that lead to the meta, that person sitting only a few feet away from you and I. Thank you Mr. Allen, that is all."

I glance around the room quickly before I slowly stand, all of a sudden feeling the urge to pee. That bottle of water that I had chugged before I had testified wasn't doing me justice right about now. For a moment, I just thought that it was no big deal to have to pee, but then I remembered that I didn't exactly have the right...parts.

"Good job," Barry whispers to me as I walk over, a smile on his/my face. "That went a lot smoother than planned, honestly."

I bite my lower lip. "Yes I know it's great and all, but Barry, I have to pee."

He shrugs his shoulders. "Then just go pee?"

I give him a look as his mouth turns into a frown. "Oh...right. Um, well-"

"I don't have all day, Allen," I mock as he quickly grabs my arm, dragging me out of the courtroom and back out into the hall.

He points across the hall at the men's restroom. "There's the restroom-"

"Barry, I can't..." I fade off, my face flushing. If there was one thing I knew for sure, it was that I wasn't ready to figure out what Barry had below the hips this way.

Barry gives me a look for a moment before he puts the pieces together. "Um well, uh...I don't have any other ideas on how to avoid this."

"Jesus Christ, I'm going to kill the meta that did this," I grunt as I stare at the bathroom across the hall, feeling helpless and halfway grossed out. Like I said before, I really did like Barry, and of course I have maybe thought once or twice about you know what, but never did I imagine that it would be under these circumstances.

With a exasperated sigh, I march towards the gates of hell; the men's restroom.

"Cisco, please tell me you found a way to reverse this," I beg as I dash into S.T.A.R. Labs, still horrified by my bathroom experience. I'm just going to leave it at that  urnels are utterly disgusting and that I never want to experience that horror again.

Cisco turns around in his swivel chair. "I'm working on it, Barry."

"It's Raven!" I screech back at him, realizing how hilarious I sounded with Barry's voice. After yelling that, I find myself laughing hysterically; I guess my mind just couldn't take it anymore.

As I continue to laugh, Barry gives me a crazed look. "What's her problem?"

"She literally had to use the men's restroom," Barry tells Cisco as he gives me a sad look, puffing out his bottom lip. "I think you can understand her suffering now."

Cisco narrows his eyes. "So wait, she...she went to the...and saw your-"

"I don't need to be reminded of the details," Barry yells back at him, cutting him off before whispering under his breath. "Not exactly how I imagined that going..."

Cisco shakes his head as if he wanted to forget what he just heard. "Okay well, bad news is that I still don't know a way to switch you two back, but good news is that I pinpointed where our meta is."

I stop laughing after hearing this. "What, really? And you didn't tell us sooner?"

"You guys were in the middle of a court case, it's not like either of you could have left to track her down," Cisco states, making a good point. "She's not very well hidden, either. I tracked your doppleganger to a house downtown, near the old run down saw mill where you fought the Rival."

I nod my head as I start to head towards the door. "I remember where that is. Let's go-"

"Wait, what's our game plan?" Barry asks me as I stop, turning around to face him and Cisco. "I know that we need to get her to switch us back, but I have a feeling that she's not going to agree easily."

I didn't truthfully care at this point. "Our game plan is to catch her and bring her back here so that she can switch us back. If she doesn't agree, I'll make damn sure she changes her mind. Does that sound like a good game plan?"

Barry notices my snippy tone, so he quickly nods his head. "Y-Yeah, sounds good-"

"Good, then let's go," I snap once more before walking out the door, ready to get this over with. I knew that I was acting rude about all of this, but I've been in Barry's body long enough; I was ready to be myself again.

Or as Barry might say, I was ready to have boobs again.

Y!KES I took so long to type this, sorry guys! Inspiration is something I've been lacking here lately...

But yeah, Raven saw Barry's you know what and truthfully, I understand her frustration with the situation. I mean, I highly doubt she was planning on seeing the D that early on in their "relationship" or whatever you might call it baha
