12. Silver Tricksters

Present

I skid to a halt as I stop in front of the house Cisco told us about; where my identity stealing doppleganger was. The run over here wasn't anything special, besides the constant thoughts running through my mind about my experience not even an hour ago. I could tell that Barry wanted to talk to me about it, but I refused to even go there.

"This is it," I state as Barry stops next to me, looking at the building in front of us. It was a white two story building with a silver Toyota parked out front. I was sort of surprised to see such a decent looking house in this part of the city. "I'll take the front, you take the back."

Barry stops me. "Raven, before we go in there, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry-"

"For what?" I ask before realizing he meant this whole body switch. "This isn't your fault, Barry. You don't have to apologize."

He shakes his head. "This sort of is all of my fault. I just wanted to take you out on a nice date and take things slow for a change...instead we got mixed up in all of this mess and I can't help but blame myself. I guess I'm mostly sorry for what happened back there at the courthouse-"

"None of this is your fault," I stop him, taking a step closer. "We both agreed to go on that date; we were and are in this together. What happened back there at the courthouse wasn't something...it wasn't what I had pictured..." I pause as I sigh, trying to find the right wording. "It wasn't what I had in mind for our first date."

Barry's face starts to turn slightly red. "You and me both. Let's just pretend that none of this ever happened, agreed? I think we at least deserve a second first date...one that goes as planned."

I half smile at him. "I couldn't agree more."

He starts to lean forwards then before stopping. "I would kiss you right now but I think I might have nightmares about kissing myself for weeks after."

I laugh at him then, forgetting everything else that had happened in the past twenty four hours. "Let's go catch this girl so we can get back to being ourselves again."

"That was cute," I hear Cisco say through our coms, taking us off guard. "I may or may not have just heard all of that, but any who, I thought I'd let you two know that she's inside watching TV. Should be an easy snatch and grab."

Barry and I look hopeful. "Alright, thanks Cisco."

"Always a pleasure," he replies back to me as I grin, looking back over at Barry.

"I'll take the front, you take the back," I tell him once more before we're taking off, doing what we were going to do a few minutes ago.

As I bolt to the front door, I phase through it slowly, making sure to not make too much noise. When I get inside, I look straight and find a staircase leading upstairs, along with a dining room area to my left and the living room to my right. After taking in my surroundings, I realize that the TV was playing in one of the rooms upstairs.

I notice Barry walk into the dinning room then as I nod my head towards upstairs, indicating that I knew where she was waiting for us. He nods back at me as I lead the way, taking it slow as I walk up the carpeted stairway. I can't help but hold my breath as I take a step onto the second floor, looking to my left and right. There were two halls that led two different directions, but I could tell that the sound of the TV was coming from my right.

I glance behind me at Barry to make sure he was still there before continuing on, taking it nice and slow. When I reach the room, I find that it was a bedroom with a flatscreen TV sitting on a nightstand across the room, but there wasn't a living soul inside.

Barry and I look around like mad men, not finding her anywhere. I activate the coms in my ear then. "Cisco, you're sure she's here? There's no one in here-"

I get cut off then as I feel the barrel of a gun get pressed up against the back of my head, causing me to freeze all together. It takes Barry a moment to realize why I was frozen in place, but when he does, I mouth at him to wait this out. I wanted to talk to the girl before fighting broke out...I wanted to see if I could get through to her to switch us back.

"Silver Trickster and The Flash, what a pleasant surprise," she says with my voice, making chills run up my spine. "How are you two doing with your switched bodies and all?"

Barry takes a step forwards but I shoot him another look, causing him to stop. I do the talking. "Oh we're doing great, thanks for asking. How about yourself?"

She tightens her finger on the trigger, but I wasn't afraid. I was fast enough to dodge it if I needed to, which was why I felt the desire to be as cocky as I possibly could. "What are you two doing here? How did you find me?"

Barry talks then. "Not too hard to locate someone that's as sloppy as you."

She laughs at that. "Or you're just too smart. I'm assuming you two are here to get your bodies back?"

I shrug my shoulders. "Well, that would be nice."

The room goes silent for a moment as she thinks. "Alright, I'll switch you back."

"Really?" Barry and I say at the same time, giving one another a puzzling look. "I thought you were going to put up more of a fight, that's for damn sure."

She shrugs. "I'm feeling generous today."

For a second, I wonder to myself if she was just pulling our leg; that she had something up her sleeve. But the other part of me saw myself in her, and I really was hoping she was doing this just to do it. Either way, all I knew was that I wanted my body back, and this was the only way we knew how to get it.

She pulls the gun away from my head as I put my hands up, turning around slowly to face her. It was so utterly strange to see someone in front of me with the same face as me; someone that wasn't even truly me. Sure, I've seen mirror images of myself before, but it was something I just couldn't get used to.

The other version of me sticks the gun into her holster on her hip as she takes a step forwards, Barry's arm somehow finding it's way in front of me, as if he was trying to protect me in case she acted. Instead, she holds out her hands to us, giving us a look to come closer.

"If you want your bodies back, you're going to have to trust me," she states simply, making me grow even more uneasy. Hearing the bad guy say the word trust wasn't something that went together very well.

However, Barry and I do as we're told as we both go nearer, until her hands are laying on each one of our shoulders. I find myself holding my breath once again as she closes her eyes, focusing on switching us back. In this moment though, I remember briefly of the last time this had happened; about how Barry and I had blacked out. She wanted to switch us back so she could get away.

"Wait-" I cry out before the next thing I know, her eyes are flashing open, causing darkness to consume me once again.

When I open my eyes again, I feel like a different person...but it didn't feel like I was Barry anymore. Instead, as soon as I regain consciousness, I find myself looking down at my hands, finding that they were mind and not Barry's.

"Thank God!" I exclaim as I wrap myself in a hug, never being more glad to have boobs again. I promised myself that I'd never complain about my body again; I missed it all too much.

My rejoice is short lived however when I remember where I was and what I had been doing. My eyes drift to Barry then, finding him still passed out on the floor next to me. I quickly scoot over to him and feel for a pulse, seeing that it was there. A sigh of relief escapes my throat before I hear the sound of movement downstairs, the memory of my doppleganger coming back to me.

I debate in my mind quickly on what to do; stay here with Barry or take down this meta once and for all. It doesn't take me long to decide that I needed to end this; I didn't need Barry to take care of her, I knew that much. This was something I could handle on my own.

So without hesitation, I find myself dashing down the stairs and to the basement where the girl was, finding her standing there throwing random objects into a duffle bag, as if she was planning on leaving. I stop in the doorway as I cross my arms, causing her to look upwards at me with a look of panic.

"Where do you think you're going?" I ask her as she freezes for a moment, staring at my face. At first, I thought it was just because she knew she was going to get caught, but then she proves me wrong.

"You..." she fades off, giving me an odd facial expression. "You look just like me."

My gut twists after hearing this, realizing to myself that I wasn't wearing my mask anymore. It must have fallen off when she had switched our bodies...

Instead of saying anything, I dash forwards to grab her and cuff her, but somehow, she's able to grab her gun and fire a shot, hitting me in the leg. It was then I realized that I didn't have much of the speedforce left in me, which was why I wasn't as fast as I should have been...I must have lost some of it when she switched us back.

I fall to the ground then as I cry out, the gunshot wound hurting like hell. As I do this, the girl with my face grins down at me, almost as if she was scheming something behind that forehead of hers. She continues to aim the gun at me.

"You know, I always wondered what it would be like to have speed," she fades off, cocking her head slightly. "Or even better, what it would be like to work along The Flash."

For a moment, I'm utterly confused as to what she was talking about before I put the pieces together. I find myself screaming for Barry as I try to get up off the ground, but my leg permitted me from doing such a thing. The next thing I know, the girl with my face is placing her hand on my shoulder, looking me dead in the eyes.

"I know you just got your body back, but sorry, I'm going to have to borrow it for awhile."

The next thing I know, darkness takes over again, but not as long as it had the second time. When I open my eyes again, I feel like I had before; out of place. I was in my body, but it wasn't exactly my body. It was then I remembered that my doppleganger switched bodies with me; she stole my speed and my anti gravity powers.

I try to stand, but I was too weak. I realize then that I was still sitting in darkness; as if I was trapped somewhere. I'm unable to recognize where before I hear something above me...footsteps. Soon after, I'm hearing Barry's voice.

"What happened?" I hear him ask to whom I wasn't sure.

I hear my own voice then. "She switched us back and then I blacked out. When I woke up, she was gone. I've searched the house three times...she's gone."

Panic starts to take over as I try to scream, but something was covering my mouth. I listen as Barry answers her. "Let's head back to S.T.A.R. Labs...Cisco will be able to find her again, don't worry."

"Let's hope so," I hear her answer before they're gone, leaving me alone in the dark. Everything comes crashing back into me in that moment...

She tricked me. She tricked all of us.

WOW I'm on a roll right now, guys. How was this chapter though? I was going to have it all wrap up and move onto the next episode in the season, but I thought why not add a little bit more drama, right?

In case you guys are a little confused, Raven's evil doppleganger switched bodies with our Raven in order to appear as if she's actually our Raven...meaning she pulled a Katherine Pierce in sort of a way while our Raven is trapped in the basement of that house. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask lmao.

also can we appreciate the title name? thought it was pretty clever muahah
