♰-Epilogue: Tooth Fairy-♰

In the stillness of the morning, there was peace and tranquillity in the air. Rhazien's body relaxed as he took a deep breath, feeling as if the heavy burden he had been carrying for days had finally been lifted from his shoulders. The morning dew descended from the sky slowly and steadily, covering everything in a thin layer of mist, giving the surroundings a mysterious and dream-like quality. Rhazien held a dark umbrella over Callum as they walked home, the sound of their footsteps echoing through the deserted streets.

The city was draped in a serene silence, with only the chirping of birds and rustling of leaves breaking the stillness. It was as if London was still in slumber, not yet prepared to welcome the day. But the dawn had finally arrived, and the darkness gave way to a light misty drizzle. As they strolled, Rhazien was struck by the loveliness of London, which he had never bothered to appreciate before. The empty streets were slowly coming to life, with shopkeepers raising their shutters and people starting their daily routines.

Rhazien carried the weight of his new abilities with unwavering determination as he continued on his path. He knew it was only a matter of time before his comrades found out about his abilities, but he refused to let it deter him from his goals. He was aware that the real hunt would begin as soon as the information about him was out, but he was determined to stay focused and not let anything obstruct his way. For now, his sole focus was raising Callum and righteously guiding him. Despite the daunting challenges that lay ahead, Rhazien was resolute in his resolve to do whatever it took to ensure that Callum attained mastery over the power that lay dormant within him. With unshakable conviction, he was determined to ready Callum for the inevitable, and when the time came, he would face the consequences head-on.

Rhazien's thoughts drifted back to the moment of his death, shrouded in a veil of darkness. He was trapped in the void, his body a prison he could not escape. It was as though the shadows themselves were suffocating him. Rhazien could feel the monster within him clawing at the walls of his mind, eager to be set free. He knew that if he let it out, it would be like unleashing a plague upon the world. The hunger within him was insatiable, like a ravenous beast that would stop at nothing until it had consumed everything in its path. Rhazien knew he had to keep the monster caged, no matter how much it howled and raged. It would be the end of everything he held dear if he didn't.

As he approached his home, he noticed something was off. The front door was left wide open, and a sense of unease crept over him. His eyes were immediately drawn to the damaged doorframe, which was splintered and broken as if someone had kicked their way inside. The sight of it made his heart race, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong. Rhazien's expression turned serious as he furrowed his brows, his eyes fixated on the wooden floor beneath him. A collection of small, colourful objects lay scattered at his feet, but upon closer inspection, he realized they weren't stones. With a growing sense of unease, he knelt and picked up one of the objects. He felt a sickening realization wash over him as he held it in his hand. The "stone" was a collection of teeth, each with a different colour and texture. Some were yellowed with age, while others were stained with dried blood that had seeped into the crevices. The sight made Rhazien's stomach turn, and he quickly set the object down.

The absence of light created an uneasy darkness that permeated throughout the home. His lips formed into a thin line as he realized there was something lingering beyond the darkness. With cautious steps, his boots softly creaked across the old floorboards. He held onto Callum's hand tightly, keeping his body in front of the boy.

"Robin?" he calls out, his voice echoing through the large house.

As he carefully treads through the darkness, his companion lingers close behind him with his wings flapping softly. Suddenly, a sharp squawk pierces the silence, drawing his attention to the living room. A sense of foreboding grips him as he senses a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows ahead of him.

"In the depths of night, the shadows writhe with fright. Fangs gleam in the dark as the creatures leave their mark," a deep, haunting melody spoke out from the darkness, lacing his words with a poetic aspect.

"Darkly poetic, isn't it, Mr. Crawford?" A sharp grin pulled at his lips.

"The sins of the father often linger within their sons," he murmurs before his gaze flickers to Rhazien's sapphire ones.

"Isn't that right, son of Van Helsing?"

A/N: Thank you so much for reading! I had so much fun writing each and every part of this story. It feels so good to finish the first draft of the novella version of this story for the ONC! And I am excited to announce that I'll be expanding Rhazien further into a novel! There is so much I want to add and write! This most certainly isn't the end of Rhazien's story, and it is far from over. With that said, I am planning on writing the prequel and sequel to this story!

Special thanks to everyone who read thus far! It was so much fun writing a dark mystery thriller!

I would also like to express my deepest gratitude, and I would like to dedicate this book to some wonderful individuals who have read Rhazien.
