35. How To Train Your Jimin
Namjoon became aware of two things as he shifted to sit up as sleep fell away from him. The first thing was that somehow shifted to laying down on the passenger seat during sleep and the second was that there was no longer darkness outside the RV. Now he could see a small ring of torchlights encircling them, casting elongated shadows into the RV. All traces of sleep quickly faded away as Namjoon got up, trying to figure out where they were since they were no longer nestled deep in the heart of the forest like they had been when he passed out. He didn't have much time to attempt to figure this out though since Hobi suddenly came rushing out of the bedroom looking absolutely terrified.
"I think Suga is dead!"
"What?" Namjoon asked, half confused for a moment before fully coming to his senses and realizing what Hobi was talking about. "Hobi, he's not dead. He..."
A sudden clanging against the side of the RV caused both of them to whip their heads in the direction of the windshield again as they could see an armored head on the other side of the RV's windshield. The garbled talking from whoever was outside made Namjoon creep closer to the door to see if he could figure out exactly what he was saying. Hobi stood where he was, still managing to keep half an eye on the bedroom where Suga was.
"...He thinks this RV is a monster," Namjoon finally whispered to Hobi. "He thinks it's a threat that needs to be taken care of..."
"What does that mean?" Hobi asked, watching Namjoon as he jumped back the moment something came into contact with the RV door.
Soon they both watched as the hilt of a sword slid through the crack in between the RV wall and the door. Namjoon found himself hoping for half a second that it was Jungkook, but that thought was soon dismissed when he saw a strange man he had never seen before standing before him with armor on.
"Are you both alright?" the man asked. "You are now freed from the beast!"
"We...we are fine," Namjoon said, being forced to step aside as the fully armored man stepped up a foot or two into the RV to look inside with his sword at the ready.
"Quickly, escape before the beast wakes up!" the man stated.
"The beast?" Hobi asked. "The only one asleep is Suga..."
"Is that what the name of this dragon is?" the man asked, turning his head towards Namjoon as he awaited confirmation.
"Dragon? This isn't a dragon..."
However, no matter what Namjoon was about to say, this man wasn't about to listen to it. Instead of waiting for confirmation, the man nodded his head towards the door as he kept his sword at the ready.
"Escape while I slay the beast!
Namjoon and Hobi both let out a yelp of surprise as the man suddenly lunged at the blinking dashboard with his sword. He speared it right in the middle, causing sparks to fly out of the center console.
"Oh, Suga is not going to like this..." Hobi muttered, his eyes widening when he saw the man in the armor going at the console again with another war cry of sorts.
"We need to get Suga and get off of this RV," Namjoon said, not willing to risk their lives reasoning with a mad man and his sword when they had no weapons readily available themselves.
Going into the bedroom with Hobi, he saw that Suga was still lying passed out on the bed. Namjoon tried to grab his arm and yank him to his feet to no avail. It seemed as if the sleeping pills had done their job too well and Suga was nothing more than a lump on the bed as the man continued hacking away at the control panel with his sword.

"Jungkook, slow down!"
Taehyung felt like his lungs were about to explode as he and Seokjin tried to follow after Jungkook as he tracked the RV through the forest as if he were a bloodhound. He'd only stop on occasion when the drag tracks of the RV would fade in the foliage so that he could try to figure out what direction it went in.
Seokjin made sure to stay beside Taehyung so he didn't get lost whenever Jungkook tore off after the RV. As Jungkook moved off towards the left, Taehyung tripped on a branch, causing Seokjin to reach out a hand to catch him and keep him upright. It was in this brief moment that they temporarily lost sight of Jungkook.
"Thanks," Taehyung got out as Seokjin nodded.
A clicking noise sounded off to their right then, causing both of their heads to jerk in that direction. It wasn't just a solitary click either, but several clicks in quick succession that made it sound like an animal's means of communication. Fear swept through them as the clicking noise was soon followed by branches cracking as whatever it was made its way closer to them. The noises all soon culminated in a black dragon with neon green eyes poking its head out of the foliage to lock its gaze on the two of them.
"JUNGKOOK!" Taehyung shouted as he stumbled back with Seokjin, the two of them colliding their backs into some trees that kept them in place.
The dragon that had suddenly appeared stepped forward, sniffing at the air that surrounded him before moving closer to the two of them to begin sniffing at their legs.
'This is how I die,' Taehyung thought just as another person stepped into the clearing.
This new man that stepped out of the branches then wasn't Jungkook. Instead, the moonlight shining into through the tree boughs in the forest showed to them a man with cinnamon brown hair and meadow green eyes. He was wearing some sort of burlap sack looking shirt under a tattered mud brown one. His eyes widened in confusion seeing the two of them, looking away from them to look at the black dragon sniffing at them like a dog.
"Midnight, heel!" the man commanded, causing the dragon to pull up short and turn to look at him with a curious look on his face.
The man continued to look at Taehyung and Seokjin strangely for a moment but before he could even ask any questions, Jungkook suddenly appeared out of nowhere with his sword drawn. He pointed the tip right at the dragon's neck, causing it to snarl and the man to turn his attention on Jungkook.
"Hey! Don't hurt him!" the man said. "Midnight won't hurt you."
"Nonsense. It's a dragon," Jungkook said. "Dragons are monsters."
"You say that, but look at who is ready to do the killing," the man remarked.
Jungkook glared at the strange man before him before slowly lowering his sword.
"Who are you?" Jungkook demanded as the man kept his gaze on him.
"My name is Jimin," he said as he pointed at himself. "Who are you guys?"
After the three of them introduced themselves, Midnight whipped his head off to the side. He let off some clicks again and Jimin nodded his head as if he understood it.
"Sorry. I've got to run. We're currently on the trail of a dragon in danger," Jimin remarked. "Nice to meet you all...I think."
Jimin moved to jump on Midnight's back, hugging the dragon's neck as Midnight took off into the night and left Taehyung, Seokjin, and Jungkook alone. Jimin flew on Midnight's back through the forest until they came to a silent landing in amongst a cluster of trees. Jimin immediately recognized this place. This was the dragon hunter's camp. He had once lived there before meeting Midnight and before realizing that dragons weren't the monsters they were made out to be. A glow in the center of a ring of torchlights displayed to Jimin the oddest-looking dragon he had ever seen. The side of it seemed to be open, causing light to spray out onto the ground. Two men dressed in odd garb came out of the side it, carrying a man between the two of them. Echoing out into the night, Jimin could hear a war cry from the man that raised him that seemed to come from inside the odd dragon.
"Are we too late Midnight?" Jimin asked. "Is it too late to save this dragon?"

AN: This is how I pictured Jimin and his dragon looking. I do not own this picture.
See you in the next update! 💜
