Soooo, I read through the written chapters way too quickly. And I blame you for writing them too short. --_-- Gone with the Tide is a charming story that was right up my alley. Besides the slight fairytale angle, I found myself enjoying reading about the characters very engrossing. Callie and Triton -- enough said there as to why this story is a good one and it's not even completed.
Rude as hell, demanding, and a little more than infuriating, Triton is the very definition of a well raised prince. While he doesn't flaunt his title, much, he doesn't exactly understand a whole lot outside his scope. Even I wanted to strangle him on a few occasions. Anyway, he is the one that made the story for me. He is so rude even when he doesn't mean to be. Callie definitely has her hands full with just him alone. The fantasy world created within this story is another great aspect and mystery. I'm secretly hoping @CheshireVibes show is the world hidden in the sea.
I have a few theories in my head about possible endings, the direction the story will take for Callie, Triton, Delphi, and Erza, and maybe a sequel, but only time will tell if I'm right on some of my guesses. Anyway, this story does kick off with Callie finding a body toward the end of chapter one, so that had me invested. I'm still pondering the blood thing because I just know that's going to come back and bite Callie in the butt. Oh! The history of the merpeople is awesome! It's woven in nicely too.
I can't help wondering when Triton and Delphi's parents will catch on to what's happening on the surface. I mean, we have yet to hear any word from them and I'm pretty sure they are suspicious about Triton's message to them. I wondered how Delphi got away in the first place. It was never really addressed. Or did I miss that detail? I wonder how the oaths will fully come into place along with the looming consequences of going against the ocean gods. I have so many questions!! Leaving off on chapter nineteen, I kind of hoping for another Callie-Triton moment. They have been dancing around each other too long. Triton being Triton and Callie being way too naive in the dating area is a lot more frustrating than I thought it would be.
I'm loving everything about the story however. I'm looking forward to seeing how this story plays out. It's a story with the heart of a fairytale but with it's own unique story unfolding.
