Usnavi couldn't find Sophia.
He frantically was searching the sea of people for her, but they were all pushing and shoving, which prevented him from getting a good look at everyone's faces. Usnavi eventually got sucked into the horde and was led outside with everyone else. While he was in the mob, he was able to get out his phone and turned on his light.
The front door was finally opened and Usnavi rapidly made it out, continuing to yell Sophia's name, hoping that she was already outside and safe. He desperately continued to call her name, continuing to worry about her disappearance. The further out of the club he got, the more he realized that entire block had lost its electricity.
"Yo Usnavi!" The deep voice of his buddy Benny called. Usnavi continued out onto the streets, still searching for Sophia. "Have you seen Nina? I can't find her."
"I don't know where she is man," Usnavi informed, lowering the phone to his side. "I can't find Sophia either," Usnavi notified, relentlessly surveying the streets that were flooding with people. Usnavi released a frustrated groan. "I can't believe I let her go off with that douchebag."
"Look man, we'll find them," Benny reassured, implying Usnavi that he would assist him with the search. "Just keep your eyes peeled."
Usnavi nodded. He turned around, commencing to call out Sophia's name once again. What he didn't hear was Sophia shouting his name from near the doors that led out of the club. She finally made it out and spotted him, but she was much too far from him for him to be able to hear her. Sophia kept getting bumped into here from there by others that kept running out of the club.
Sophia started to make her way up to Usnavi, flailing her arms in the air, wanting Usnavi to be able to see her in the mass of people. She kept screaming his name, but it was impossible for him to be able to hear her through all the yelling that everyone was doing around her.
"There you are you little bitch!" The frightening voice of Damien bellowed, making Sophia jump. She spun around, her eyes widening as he aggressively grasped her wrist. All of a sudden there were loud fireworks that sounded off from above, vividly revealing Damien's face and his wrathful grimace. "You're coming with me."
Sophia attempted to break from his control, but was unable to. Damien was much stronger than she was. She looked over her shoulder at Usnavi who had no idea that she was being taken away by Damien. She kept her mouth shut, not wanting to alarm anybody. She wanted Damien to take her somewhere private, because that was where she was going to kick his ass. Damien pulled Sophia into a dark alleyway and shoved her down onto the disgustingly wet black concrete.
Sophia inhaled sharply as she felt her knee get harshly scraped as she was thrown to the ground. In a sense, she was sort of glad that she got the dress dirty. She wasn't planning to ever wear again anyways.
"You really thought you'd get away with stealing my father's money like that?"
"I didn't steal anything from your father," Sophia defended, climbing back up onto her feet. She used her feet to get herself out of the heels. She was preparing for a beat down. "Now why don't you just go back to your daddy and leave me the hell alone."
Damien didn't even respond and thrusted at Sophia. He harshly pushed her against the brick wall. He pressed his arm against her throat, making sure that she had no way to escape.
"We're not making me anymore promises with you Sophia," Damien stated, slowly applying more pressure onto her throat as he got closer to her face. Small ragged gasps were escaping her throat as Sophia tried to break free. "You know, I can just kill you right here and now."
"You better think again asshole."
Damien whirled around, only to be sliced right across the face, causing Damien to scream in agony as the immediate pain was felt. Damien's arm slipped off of Sophia's throat as he stumbled backwards. Sophia collapsed to the ground, her head spinning as she was gasping for air.
"Sophia!" The voice shouted, his voice echoing through her mind. She saw black sneakers appear in front of her. She slowly raised her eyes up. It was Sonny. "Sophia, we have to go!"
Sonny was tucking the sharp pocket knife into his back pocket of his jeans. Sophia recognized it. It was the same knife that Damien had used to cut her cheek earlier. Sophia figured out that Sonny snatched it out of Damien's back pocket when he wasn't paying attention. Sonny lifted Sophia off the ground and guided her out of the dark alleyway.
"This isn't good Sonny," Sophia muttered, slowly regaining her strength back. "You're in just as much danger as I am now."
"The only thing that matters right now is getting you the hell away from that man," Sonny stated, repeatedly glancing over his shoulder, making sure that Damien wasn't chasing them. "I think we lost him."
Sonny gradually came to a complete stop with Sophia. Sophia immediately hugged Sonny afterwards, thanking him for saving her.
"I thought that I had him, but apparently I was wrong," Sophia admitted, looking downward in embarrassment. "But it won't end there. I hate to get you involved with this Sonny."
"We'll get through this together Sophia," Sonny assured, taking both of her hands. "I won't let anyone else hurt you."
"What about Usnavi?"
Sonny blinked. "What about Usnavi?"
"He can't know about this," Sophia declared, sliding her hands out of Sonny's. "Promise me you won't tell Usnavi."
"I promise," Sonny promised with a nod. "Now, I know where Usnavi and the rest are, so let's go -"
"No Sonny," Sophia interrupted, shaking her head. "I can't let Usnavi see me like this. He'll just get more suspicious about tonight."
"I guess you're right," Sonny agreed, looking over his shoulder. "Well, I'll let them know you're alright. Just meet us back at Nina's okay?"
Sophia smiled. "I'll be there."
