This is a story I wrote inspired by a writing activity from Unification: An Awards Show hosted by CroodsGirl :

Challenge: Write a short story based on a Chinese food menu

At first, I saw this story more as an exercise, and I was going to keep it at one or two chapters, but of course, things don't always turn out the way you planned them (especially in writing), so it turned out to be a little longer than expected. 

To give myself an extra challenge, I gave myself the task to focus on original and vivid descriptions exploiting surroundings, thoughts and visible action scenes. That is something I should practice more according to the past feedback on my other stories.

Also, I wanted to start with a character list, but I thought to try something new and give pictures of new characters and creatures the moment they arrive in the story. Let me know what approach to character images you prefer. One list at the beginning, throughout the story, or none at all?
