Why are you like this?
Is it a choice of life or just some
thing in your DNA?
Why is she supposed to corroborate with you
and you to not listen to her?
And by “she”, I kind of mean me.

You shy away from what is right there;
as if your not looking will
make it a phantom
instead of a bare, naked reality.
Oh yes, right,
you want the reality to be
in layers of clothing of disguise
too.
Well, you can't always have
everything your way.

I'm lying here,
naked in the water; and then
naked outside of water.
Believe me,
you can't make me wear a disguise.
I do wear a mask—
only over my face, not my
heart;
and you can't make me
conceal my unclothed heart,
just because it reminds you of what you lost.
The thing is,
you succeeded in losing something
that you never had.

So yes,
I'm here
and others are too.
Just stare at us enough to
make yourselves realize that we are not
any phantom.
That we are the
real-est reality you could ever think of.
The reality that
you were not allowed to dream of.
The reality that is
going to make you realize
how un-real you've been.

And no,
we are not thinking of including you.
